No problem. Luckily I have the same tablet and Vista. You lucky lucky boy Nice try ashmon
-
go to "tablet PC settings" (search in the wee search thing on the start bar) and then the Other tab, then go to "Pen and input devices". There's a list there and click on the "press and hold", double click it, then un-tick the box that enables the hold for right click thing.

Yeah you do have to change up pretty fast (comparing to a 1.4/1.6 diesel). I coulda easily coasted at 45 (maybe more) in the diesel, but the 1litre petrol wouldn't put up with that. You pretty much have to put the pedal to the boards to build up speed quickly. top speed... I think my mum got it up to 70 and it was nearly gonna fall apart onto her lap :P (ofcourse i don't do those sorts of speeds ) Then again, unless you do a lotta motorway driving there is no point having a speedy car. I only go to the town and back, which has max 40 speed most of the way :P

Sorry i should have quoted paj, was agreeing with the "fat" being in quotes, because she's not really fat and probably never been fat :P @goafer - your boss looks awesome =D My boss is a bit silly like that (but not as extreme haha) and it always makes going to work so fun! Probably the reason i've been there for so long!!

Yes, its definitely more sensitive. But I find the changes up to be similar. I have to go into 2nd nearly instantly after moving off in 1st. Had a biiit more leeway with the diesel. Going into 4th would be about 30-32mph, 5th would be at 40-42mph. The diesel could have done 45mph without a problem, my petrol needed to go into 5th. But then I could be granny driving And something else, the braking on a diesel is soooooooooosooooooo sensitive. I found emergency stops difficult in a diesel because the car starts to behave funny the second you put the brake on. I have to nearly slam the brake on and my petrol wouldn't stall. But my petrol is older so that may be the difference. Hmm I'm not overly sure, I'll make a mental note. I usually shift down if the car was being funny. 45mph is bloody ridiculous tbh. I'm going along in 4th at 42mph on a 60 road. People get pissed off. But what can I do, I'm not breaking the law for them!! And I'm nearly sure R's only get 6 penalty points then its bannage.

its a loose term for rpm... revolutions per minute. (just me?) Is it normal to be over 2k then? Although a diesel is definitely more sensitive (at least the one i drove) because the second I hit 2k it was screaming for a change. But you kinda HAVE to rev a petrol car or it goes nowhere I have to get a good 3k going when i'm reversing out of my drive, its a big hill start. Scary. That was my biggest challenge, and I whanged the car off the pebble dash (thankfully it hit the plastic bumper mwahah) I'm starting to know when to change up and down, still having difficulty with 5th gear. But I don't drive in country areas enough to get any practice. Every time I change down the engine is angry even though I'm going at a considerably slower speed. And don't forget the good ol' 45mph speed limit. Yay for northern ireland's crazy restrictions.

I was at work today and an internal ad for a job came round, band 4 deputy system manager.. so i'm considering applying (not that i have even enough experience) but I could wing it. No job spec was with it so its like... gah. There's a question at the end that asks you to state specifically why you have the relevant criteria for the post.. I'm a band 2 at the moment and it would be a hooooooooooge pay jump. Saying that I probably wont even be shortlisted. I might ask my bosses bosses boss and see what she reckons.

my driving instructor said that generally speaking when you get up to about 2000 revs you need to change up. You get to know the engine after driving about a bit.
-
I agree with you but then I don't like my car getting too empty... and I'm forgetful And going to the pump more often costs you more because you are making trips more often. You could almost say 6 to one half a dozen to the other. Apparently if you let the car run until the vapours its really bad because all of the crap settles at the bottom of the tank. My fathers car got a very expensive repair because some rubbish got clogged up in the engine somewhere. (its a diesel engine)

yeah, its awful. Although im getting better, I don't have to use the handbrake EVERY time I stop, woohoo! Getting out of the junction at work is a nightmare, its a 50mph dual carriageway, at rush hour. I did myself proud and vroomed it to death to get out today! wooooooo! It's only a 1litre engine so you kinda do have to vroom it up or it goes nowhere =( And today I had to use the fog light on my car for the first time today I'll throw this out a bit, its been a big discussion in my house lately; how long a tank of petrol lasts! I can get 5/6 weeks out of my car. My mum got hers and she says the tank is tinyyy (hyundai i10) and she's always having to fill it!

I stall if I don't accelerate extravagantly :P I really regret learning in a diesel.

I think thats the whole point of Ugly Betty. Its not taking itself too seriously. Very bubblegum, as you say, good for an hour of escapism. It came at the right time when it first aired over here, it was something completely different, away from the depressing reality tv. I think that's half of the reason it took off and did as well as it did over here.

But really what can you do other than topping up the relevant liquids it needs? I don't have a foggies about cars, touching any more than the above would probably result in me trashing it somehow :P
