Why not just let people decide? You CAN play it in all modes, no problem, if someone doesn't like it in tabletop mode, then don't play it; let people decide. I didn't;t play Smash Bros on the wii with just the wii remote because that really was gimped, but doesn't mean the whole game should be canned. I really think tabeltop mode will barely be used, the only normal usage would be for multiplayer games anyway.

Handheld mode would be better than tabletop mode anyway; I mean, you CAN play it in tabletop, but if it's worse then why wouldn't you play it in handheld mode? Doesn't make sense to dismiss it based on what will be the least played way of playing the switch full stop, but ultimately people can choose, isn't that a good thing? Choice? You don't like tabletop mode, don't play it?! I'm sure this conversation is missing specifics because it's not making loads of sense.

I'm getting it because I love Mario kart, can always play multiplayer Mario kart, throw win the battle mode, but also the fact it's portable. Being able to play it out and about and such appeals to me greatly.

What did you decide to do? You were on about selling the Wii U after Zelda and buying a switch anyway, you not tempted to do that beforehand and get the best version of Zelda?!

Yep. I'm hoping that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and possibly some extra DLC is enough for Mario Kart on switch, I'd be happy with that; and they move onto another Diddy Kong Adventure racing game!

I've played F zero and Diddy kong too I see what you're saying, but that should be up to the user to decide how they want to play it, it shouldn't stop the developer. I don't think bomberman would be great on the tablet due to it always being from a wide, or 4 player split screen on Mario kart, but the developers shouldn't be concerned with that. Dirt is exactly the kind of game that would be good for the Switch!

I didn't mean it as a jump down the throat. And you're probably right, if you're debating with two different people at the same time, it sort of doubles up your posts. But with the issue, I just think 95% of the people who buy switch in the first 6 months will be Nintendo fans/gamers; they'll know, so don't think it'll impact them; they need to do a far bigger job of explaining the online anyway than just a logo saying it'll have it. The confusing messaging of 'only through an app' then headsets and their own documentation saying it can have mics/headsets is not good! Also, now this is something you should worry about, on the platoon page it says voice chat. Doesn't say that on Mario kart, just online Imagine if they start picking and choosing which games have it!!

You asked and people debated why not and why it isn't an issue, but you kept talking about it and fighting the corner, which is fine, but just baffled why you find it an issue. And hang on, are you talking about what "you" think/care about, or the general public, because before you admitted you obviously know it has online, but some randoms might not; well the same argument can be applied to the games that you don't care about. It's either a personal thing, or a general thing, which one? What exactly is your/the problem? And maybe attack is a little strong, but no need to get hung up on that and try and turn this into about the word "attack"; you constantly on here, on twitter constantly moan about online and voice chat; most of the tie it is warranted; this is crazy OTT how much it's bothering you... even though you admitted you know perfectly well it has online. But it is compatible, the only thing you're saying is it may not be as comfortable. But in that very specific mode you still have access to all the buttons and I highly doubt it'll be a problem at all anyway. As hands on say it works great and it's similar to the wii set up and that was absolutely fine.

Oh absolutely, the game is really incredible, felt completely new. There were a few of us who played it a lot; a few others who dabbled but hated the fact there was no voice chat; so with that fixed I'd imagine it'll have even more of a community.

You are in for an absolute treat, probably the best new IP I've played in a decade! It has a few irritations - like having only two maps per mode every 2 hours; not saving load outs and such; if they are ironed out then this will be spectacular.

Ultimately, it may not be perfect, but you could use your argument for most games then, even Zelda no? Feels like a weak excuse not to put a game on the device to be honest. And excuse my ignorance, don't know the game, but are driving games button intensive? Accelerate, break, turn, maybe handbrake?!

I don't think it will be difficult in anyway shape or form; like I never found it difficult accessing the dpad and A button on the wii remote. Also, in handheld mode the joy cons will be attached to the device. You mean in tabletop mode?

Yeah you can hold them separately. I think it could be really comfortable. It was on Wii with nunchuck and Wii mote.

Ah come on. Although I think you may be do it a touch too much, I agree with your problems with Nintendo and online. But this is getting preposterous. Feels almost desperate now. Would it have hurt if it said its online? No. But does it deserve this constant attack? It's ridiculous. Most people will know it's online, if someone like in your situation wants to know and you don't know anyone, check online. It's not difficult. Not that I look out for it, but I don't particularly remember any game talking about being online. Does FIFA/madden/cod etc? (Genuine question). Just checked FIFAs trailer - no mention of online. Absolutely disgusting. What if Timmy wants it but his mum has no idea if he can play online or not? Where was your disgust at this advert? Absolutely no chance. I personally think this looks fine, but I don't think the reason think it looks crap is because it's an old style, more that the design looks simple in a cheap way. 2d game are here to stay, there's already loads coming.

Thought so, just making sure To be honest, I think the inly thing people have is that it COULD be good because it's hard to see how to be honest, though all the talk about headsets is reassuring at least. The app in some context could be awesome, if I take photos/videos on the switch and they are in the cloud and I could access them through the app, that'd be amazing. Messaging people through the app, setting a game session and it tapping into your phones calendar, out and about, it could be an incredible supplementary app. The only thing? Sounds bad; but fingers crossed Nintendo have some superb ideas!!

Although I quite like the name Virtual Console, it doesn't quite make loads of sense as to what it is, eshop is pretty much the same meaning. Nintendo classics works; wonder how they'll do it, a bit of me thinks it'd be nice to have console icons and click in them and all the game are there rather than each game having their own icon, especially with the OS having such huge titles for the games.
