iOS 5 looks very good. Autumn launch though, boooooo. That's a very long time to wait. Not 100% sure about the whole iMessage thing. So does it replace text messages between iPhones? How will it know if the number I'm texting has an iPhone, and will my SMS conversations be on my iPad as well? And if they are, I'm assuming I wouldn't be able to text a non iOS device from my iPad? Lion is a bit meh, but wonderful price and some nice little enhancements. Good to see them doing download only, saves on packaging, CDs etc... iCloud looks cool, although it must take up a lot of data and bandwidth to constantly be synching all this stuff over the air.

Yes that's been that strongly hinted by Aonuma

I've waited 6 months I can wait another day. Game, £30, better cover art. Happy with that.

1:08 - that must be the purest lake ever I like the logo reveal at the end.

What a hollow way of describing Zelda games. You've pretty much described a formula that is applicable to any or most games on the market. Again, Zelda to me isn't about 'cutting edge controls or hardcore graphics', it's about MAGIC, that hard to quantify sense of joy you get when you play it's latest adventure. Floating with the Deku leaf across Outset Island to a hard to reach ledge, playing hide and seek with poes, taking a boat tour ride to the Deku palace, the sense of accomplishment after defeating a boss and collecting your pendant/mirror shard/medallion/triforce piece.... The lovely visuals, the puzzles, the humour, the sense of scale and scope.

I don't really care whether it has voice acting or not (apart from Link having to stay silent), what I want from Zelda is to get back to the MAGIC of old games. Wind Waker was full of it, as were OOT and MM. The vibrant colour pallette, little details like the oversized mushrooms in the forest and especially, the eyeball door that you have to make dizzy with your sword, lead me to believe Skyward Sword will be a return to form and will be fun and magical. The dizzy eyeball would never have worked in the dull, lifeless Twilight Princess for instance.

Wow has the 3DS tanked already? £157!

I definitely think the E3 Skyward Sword trailer will blow us away. We've still hardly seen or know anything about it and fingers crossed the trailer will wow us. But as others have said, I'd rather this Zelda game came in below the radar and surprised us all, than it getting hyped as the most perfect game ever as Twilight Princess for some reason was.

Is it just me or have they added a red carpet and pillars to the temple of time? Can't recall it looking like that on the N64. Looks good
-
Um didn't we have a live demo when it was announced? Granted it didn't go so well but it was still a live demo.

Not strictly SS related, but these clips are a good laugh, particularly the latest one. Apologies if they've already been posted:

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-05-26-what-is-zelda-universe Sounds like the recently discovered online game, "Zelda Universe". Details in the above link

Sounds good but I'd hoped Koji Kondo would also be working on you know.. one of Nintendo's flagship franchises

You're like that unfunny, reviewer nerd on youtube who thinks because he uses the word fuck and swears a lot he's cool. Not saying you're exactly like him, but that's the impression I get from the above OTT post, chill out man.

NINTENDO E3 2011: HOPES, DREAMS, and SWIMMINGPOOL CREAMING DESIRES.
Ronnie replied to Fused King's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I really can't picture Nintendo making a console that's more powerful than a PS3, it just doesn't seem right. I'd agree with that. I'll just be happy if the E3 SS trailer is COLOURFUL and vibrant. It's pretty obvious they'll reveal the big gameplay mechanic behind the game (flight?), so hopefully it'll wow everyone. Looking forward to hearing what they have planned for the 25th anniversary as well, but not getting my hopes up. -
I still think the pics are real. The rupees on the inside of the box look legit, as does the outside, with the sticker on the front.
-
I feel hurt that you got an answer to that question and I didn't :weep: Ok I'm over it. Oh well, amazon it is...
-
Fair enough then. But why would someone fake that? It's not exactly showing off anything special or previously unknown. There's sad people around I guess.
-
Visually, looks pretty legit to me, particularly with the rupees in the box. I fail to see how you can tell it's home printed since the picture quality of the whole image is poor. Fair enough about them not sending out review copies though, that's what makes it possible it's a fake.
-
So I'd quite like the pre-order version of the game with the gold US box art, but all the nintendo press release says is it's available for European customers who pre-order. Does that mean any preorder? For instance Amazon?

The graphics (horrible yellow filter in Hyrule field apart) looks fantastic. It's going to be a treat playing through the whole thing with it looking so gorgeous.
-
Yes it's 'embarrassing' to want to play two outstanding games again on modern systems, in 3D, with updated graphics, on the move.... right...
-
A lot of that is your opinion. ie. the fact that apparently everyone now hates Sunshine, which is obviously bollocks. You think adding a snow level to Sunshine would have improved it? Every Mario game is the same, fields, desert, snow, forrest etc. Sunshine tried something different, the tropical island had a great vibe to it, and all the levels fit in seamlessly, and very well IMO. A snow level would have just been ridiculous. Nintendo should be applauded for trying something a little different. It's the Majora's Mask of Mario and I personally loved it, fantastic game.
-
The outstanding retro levels made up for the lack of true platforming though. I wish the similarly themed galaxy in Galaxy 2 was of the same quality.
-
Yeah, to be honest though I'd rather have better trailer music and no reversal (cool for 5 seconds as it is)
