That's because kirby pops up in Zelda topics every few weeks spouting the same old pathetic bollocks about how he hates Zelda fanboys, how they're not allowed an opinion, how his opinion of TP is the only valid one, how he thinks he's so much better than most Zelda fans etc. It gets very tiresome. He's sunk to a new low with openly mocking and showing pleasure at those who dislike over the top motion controls though. Fierce, you're right, sorry to keep going on. Grazza, I like you gnat analogy

Yep quite a fair bit creepy

In the 20 minute gameplay video it was hinted that there would be an instrument in Skyward Sword. Great news, it really adds something to Zelda games. Just hope it's more Ocarina and Spirit Pipes than Wind Waker and err, howling.

You could say, it's quite funny how you lot are laughing at us for disliking OTT motion controls... just as Nintendo pretty much ditch them.
-
I didn't say that, and neither did Grazza. I personally thought the motion controls worked perfectly in TP. Certain aspects in SS seem to be taking things too far, in my opinion.
-
Disiking the idea of motion controls in Zelda is somehow "misfortune"? Oh dear. You're missing the point. It doesn't matter if the control has an accelerometer or not, Nintendo are trying to put motion gameplay to one side and get back some regular hardcore gameplay.

Do you have to be so fucking tedious when it comes to your war against gamers who don't conform to your beliefs? Mouthing off again and again and again about how you dislike Zelda fanboys and their views is one thing, but openly showing glee at others' dislike of something is just pathetic. No less than I would expect from you though. Nintendo will never forget motion control? Apart from the fact that their new console is putting it to one side, big time, you mean? I'm with Grazza, I'll wait and see how it turns out, but excessive motion controls like those SS seem to be using (ie. rolling a bomb like you're bowling) seems more of a hindrance than anything IMO. If you don't like that view I doubt many of us give a fuck.

I really would love lots of fanwank in this game, loads of references to common Zelda mythology etc, even if it is the first in the timeline.
-
Good idea. I'd still like to hear opinions of people staying spoiler free so will venture on both topics... wish I could stick with this one but it'll never work. I do think massive TP spoilers everywhere didn't help its general reception.

Very well put

Strange seeing as that's what you had to do for Super Marios 1, 2, 3 and World, to name four.

The feather in combination with simpler SNES-style battle mode tracks would be excellent. It could basically save you from a red shell. Precise reflexes and timing (coupled with point 3, FAST red and green shells) made for some intense battle mode moments. And as for the Grand prix mode, forget massive course halving shortcuts, I'm talking about using the feather to shave off a few seconds off your lap time. Storing it until you happen to be heading straight for an inverted ? box, where again, reflexes come into it. It would make a good addition and players who could use it properly would be rewarded. Certainly more useful and tactical than a stupid squid thing. Bring back the feather I say.

Looks (and sounds) great, nice vid. Definite Galaxy style level there. I'm liking the mix between the various Marios. I could have done with Stars at the end of each level, say Mario 3 item blocks or Super Paper Mario star blocks, rather than a flagpole but no big deal.

From a designer POV, I HATE the design of the speech boxes but hopefully they'll get a revamp in the finished product. Good to see they're using the circular item menu again. One other thing I noticed when Link fell down toe bottomless pit, the circular fade to black transition was very Wind Waker in style, far more cartoony than Twilight Princess. The game seems to have a very, for lack of a better work, digital vibe to it, in the same way as TP did. The way the treasure chests appears, or the bad guy vanishes, it's very digital pixel-like. Not to mention the way Link's companion speaks. Or maybe it could just be in the strange ...

The orchestrated Hyrule Field music?

Dante, any chance of the new 3 official art shots in ginormous res please? Assuming you have access to them?

My 5 requests for this game: 1. The feather 2. Simple battle mode tracks (ie. SNES style) 3. Faster red and green shells (again, SNES style) 4. No blue shells 5. RARE lightning bolts (ie. not 3 times every race) (None of the above will happen of course)

This game seems to be a cross between Galaxy and New SMB, with on-rails 2D levels and 3D floating Galaxy style levels, should be a nice mix IMO.

... get out.

From what's been suggested at the Roundtable, there are two overworlds to explore, above and below the clouds. The sky is more like a wind waker Great sea type area, and the land below, Hyrule, is the more traditional land-based exploration
-
Yeah but it's still Twilight Princess Link, just as that's HD TP versions of ArmoGohmma, the Temple of Time and the same visual style for the item select screen.
-
Totally. I love that we're getting a Wind Waker type overworld to explore. HOPEFULLY. That'd be a great fit and very welcome. They seem to be mixing in elements from Majora's Mask, Wind Waker and Twilight Princess into one game.
