I hope we see Dreams in the main show, crazy how long that's been in development, starting to worry about Media Molecule's viability Maybe Sony decided it needed to be more game-y.
-
After starting brilliantly this has taken a bit of a nose dive for me personally, but at least that Pilotwings rip off looks fun!
-
Lol, the Sprint Vector logo looked good at least
-
Gardens Between looks great. Didn't see enough gameplay of Hong Kong Massacre to judge, but slick trailer!
-
Fantastic! Guacamelee 2!!! And so chuffed they didn't say it was an exclusive.
-
Hopefully their newly manufactured ones have fixed the problem. I ordered a pair of the Mario red ones from Japan, fingers crossed. Still can't decide on whether to play with the Pro controller or joy con though, one is better the other is way more comfortable.

Next Monday. I have next week off and am traveling a lot that weekend. Finishing off Steamworld today and will give Thimbleweed Park a run to tide me over till then

I saw a bloke playing Odyssey on the train yesterday, think he was in the Cap Kingdom and was playing as a frog (sigh, I know too much)
-
Yeah they should have spaced those two releases out far more. I didn't actually pick up either, even though I was tempted by both, Splatoon more so.

Very strong results, they must be confident in their supply line to increase their target from 10m to 14 mil. Crazy if it can sell that many in 12 months, isn't that what the PS4 sold its first year?? Only sad news is that Metroid hadn't hit 1 million, which is a shame if not totally surprising. Would have sold far more had it been on Switch and I suspect we'll see a port at some point. As for amiibo.... 2016: 3.8m figure, 1.7m card 2017: 5.1m figure, 2.8m card Yeah they're not going anywhere! Just saw this posted on RE: "Took WiiU 21 months to do what Switch did in 7. Wii did it in 6. " wow

When I eventually get round to playing it my plan is to take my time and to not rush it either. Trouble is I keep reading impressions about how people say "Oh just one more moon..." and then two hours have passed. Saw someone playing it on the train earlier today, and a pro rugby player put up an Instagram live story about how he'd be playing Mario all day

Hang on, without spoilers... a painting you stumble on in a regular kingdom takes you to a post-credits world??? Bit strange Nintendo let people do that! Is it something you can avoid to save the surprise?
-
I watched the first few minutes of the Odyssey part of this week's NVC. I liked Brian and Zach's reaction to the 10 reveal. It's good to see a non-Nintendo regular on there review the game so well. He's big into Xbox so it's quite an endorsement. Be interesting to see what the new Nintendo guy will be like.
-
Ryan McCaffrey on IGN seemed really impressed by the end sequence before the credits. Can't wait to dive into this game in a week or so
-
Glad to hear it's polished, though it's not much of a surprise coming from the big N. Without giving too much away, how would you rate the post-game overall, I know you're a fan of the first part but as a whole is there plenty to do after the credits or do they just leave you to collect more moons you missed out on?

2002 was great, but no console launch, no mobile games, or SNES classic (most gaming hardware sales in September) etc. It's the culmination of a lot of things that makes 2017 special IMO. That and having two 10/10 games within 9 months of each other
-
Going by that logic we wouldn't be able to judge 2017 until the Switch gets discontinued and we can reflect on each year as a whole. 2014: Smash, MK8, Hyrule Warriors, Captain Toad, Bayonetta 2, DKC Tropical Freeze, Kirby Triple Deluxe 2010: Galaxy 2, DKCR, Kirby Epic Yarn, Other M, Xenoblade 2004: Paper Mario TTYD, Pikmin 2, Metroid Prime 2, Metroid Zero Mission, Minish Cap 1998: Ocarina of Time, F-Zero X, Banjo, 1080, Rogue Squadron Personally think 2017 beats all of them. I wasn't talking about just games anyway. The Switch launch, their mobile games, advertising, the SNES Classic etc
-
What's the 3DS up to now, nearly 70 million I think? That's pretty crazy given it was launched when mobile gaming had taken off.
-
Yeah I won't be waiting till mid November to play this as originally planned lol. @Hero-of-Time I think you and I are on the same page when it comes to the Mario series, so am relieved you like it.

- A fantastic console/handheld that every loves, launched successfully, fastest selling ever, and been the talk of the industry - One of the most critically acclaimed Zelda games ever, a bold re-invention for the series - One of the most critically acclaimed Mario games ever, a true successor to a game changer in the industry - The return of Metroid ! - An upgraded version of the already excellent Mario Kart 8 - New IP in Arms that people seem to like a lot - A highly successful collaboration with Ubisoft - Encouraging third party support from Rockstar and Bethesda - Insane indie support with expert curation and promotion from Nintendo - Some of the best advertising they've done in a decade - Cult hits like Splatoon 2, Xenoblade, Fire Emblem Warriors either out or soon to release - Mobile games like Fire Emblem Heroes doing very well for them, and Animal Crossing Pocket Camp looking fantastic - SNES mini flying off shelves - Arguably the best iteration of the 3DS system: the new 2DS XL quietly released - Not a lootbox in sight What a great year, excited to see what 2018 brings

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch
Ronnie replied to darkjak's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Story DLC still on track for this year according to an interview with Reggie earlier today. -
Pit's already in Smash though. Luigi's Mansion 3 with Prof E Gadd as the new Smash character?
-
Gamexplain had to invent a new rating for their Mario review: Mind-Blowing I had the audio on in the background, the video should be considered spoilery even though they say it isn't. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gj3R0KShZ_A

When did the series go stale? Sunshine's FLUDD-based clean up a tropical island, Galaxy's intergalactic gameplay or 3D World's meshing of 2D and 3D obstacle course like game design?
