Eurogamer asked Miyamoto about it last E3 though two years before that he said that it was nearly finished, so who knows.
-
Thinking ahead to E3, the following line up as their big hitters seems pretty likely: Fire Emblem Yoshi Pokemon Smash Pikmin 4 Retro's game Metroid Prime 4 That'd make for a pretty great E3, especially as most of those seem likely to release in the following 6-9 months, as opposed to the usual E3 thing where you're waiting years for games to actually come out.
-
I don't need to look them up, I'm well aware of all the Smash 4 character reveal trailers. But you're right, I expect a more in depth look at E3 too.
-
There was a bit more to it than most Smash 4 trailers I'd say. Guess we'll find out at E3
-
Gameplay wise this looks good but I have to say visually it looked really rough and in some places quite ugly.

The 3DS is getting a game in 2019. Crazy.
-
Kinda Funny's reaction to Captain Toad and Smash was brilliant, shame an even more annoying than usual Jared was there as well to spoil things.
-
That logo reveal was beautiful. I wonder if the teaser is hinting at some sort of story mode (please please please)
-
Crazy how everyone knew it was coming, but the internet still explodes anyway.
-
One of their best Directs ever, legit shocked how good it was, especially given E3 is three months away. Captain Toad, fuck yes. I'll be buying about half the games they showed off. That Smash tease was beautiful.
-
I'm glad they kept the name. Looks gorgeous as ever.
-
Must have been a lot of work to upres a 240p 3DS game to 1080 (or whatever it is).
-
I wouldn't get your hopes up tbh. Suspect what you'd be looking for is more an E3 thing but hopefully I'm wrong.

Nice box art, I actually think Nintendo have put up some poor stuff in that regard recently, after the highs of the Wii/Wii U. Odyssey and MK8DX ones are pretty messy/ugly IMO. They look way too messy on the Switch home screen. As for this game, if the story mode looks good I'll buy, if it seems pretty barebones I likely won't.

There are plenty on there that take the reset the clock joke way, way too far.
-
Don't do that to me.
-
Well they've made one more sale at least. I thought it looked great but wasn't likely to get my 3DS out to play it, but now it's on Switch...
-
I'm not expecting this to knock anyone's socks off with mostly additional gameplay from games we already know about. Realistic expectations: - Mario Tennis - Kirby - Detective Pikachu - Fire Emblem reveal - Octopath update As well as assorted smaller titles/3DS stuff. Maybe another look at Yoshi but they could be saving that for E3 again.
-
3DS + Switch and a mention of Mario Tennis means very little if anything new BIG reveals, expectations tempered. Plus E3's only three months away.
-
The last two Nindies Directs have been six months apart so I think we're due one, maybe Hollow Knight would be there instead.
-
How weird. I wish they would port Hearthstone to Switch

Agree. He adds absolutely nothing to the discussion. Gets his words mixed up often and just generally states the obvious. Unlike Peer, Brian and Zach he adds no insight into anything at all. Seems a nice guy but a wasted chair tbh.

IGN did a one year anniversary special episode of NVC

I guess I knew they were onto a winner when the initial reveal trailer came out and pretty much everyone in our N-E thread of all places was gushing over it. That said I didn't expect it to sell quite as much as it has, and certainly not to outsell Wii U in what, 10 months? I adore it and as I type this I've just had a one hour and a half train journey pass quickly thanks to some Odyssey and Darkest Dungeon. Zelda made me feel like a kid again. It was a truly special experience playing that game and I haven't felt that way since Ocarina. I'm playing so many more games than I ever would have without it. Games I wouldn't have touched on PS4 or Wii U I'm playing and loving on Switch. The hardware is so good it makes people want to play games on it. The Pro Controller is easily the most comfortable I've used (though never had an Xbox to compare) and if that battery dies, 40 (!) hours later I'll pop the joy Con off and sit back hands apart and play just as comfortably. It's great to see Nintendo back on top again, and so they should be, it's a wonderful piece of kit.
