  1. Not to mention the stupidity off scheduling a friendly 2 days before the first game of the season.
  2. So once all the people are arrested, that's easily probably going to stretch into the thousands, which already over crowded jails are we going to put them in? We live in a country nowadays where it's perfectly acceptable for this to happen yet all the vast majority can do is slag off the police and the politicians. I guarantee all those Police are dying to handle things properly, dispense some real justice but of course as soon as they breathe on someone the wrong way, their investigated. Instead they're out there doing everything they can (which is essentially nothing) and being hounded for it. What exactly do you suggest we do? These people don't listen to reason, you can't rehabilitate them and send them on their way. They chose to do this for no other reason than because they could. Put the fear of god into them and it would soon stop.
  3. Why is there even discussion. Send the Army in and terminate these fools. They've long since lost the right to their life.
  4. It's times like these i'm glad I live with so many sheep nearby. Alas, if the sheep ever rise up, i'm seriously fucked.
  5. Yeah, that's the only problem, it's sodding medium wave!
  6. To be fair he's someone we've been tracking for ages. Wenger does have other targets, he said after the Benfica game that someone of super quality would be arriving at the emirates this week.... That'll probably be Pascal Cygan as a coach then.
  7. Although there's a lot of talking in the morning breakfast show (seems like an industry standard nowadays), I listen to Absolute. They play all my sort of music and unlike most they've a no repeat policy.
  8. The SAS in there, the fuckers will soon beg for mercy. If this carries on much longer I wouldn't at all be surprised if the IOC said fuck your Olympics.
  9. He does have age going for him, which is one of the reason I'm a bit wary about Jagielka, he's not getting any younger.
  10. Great signing. Am I the only one who thinks Gary Cahill is seriously overated? certainly not worth anything close to £20 million. I'd doubt i'd even put him in the top 10 centre back in the Premiership.
  11. He's had problems in the past but he's fit at the moment and has been for the past 6+ months. You can't base captaincy decisions on something that might or might not happen in the future. Fergie time was necessarily to do with Man U scoring late goals it was the often frequent generous minutes being added on to games in which Man Utd were not winning in, when such injury time was never justified. Whether this led to a goal or not wasn't the point.
  12. On the small chance Fabregas does stay, he shouldn't be captain. That's not because the way things have gone down, I think RVP is a much better choice, he's everything the club is about in one fine Dutch player, not to mention he's our best player.
  13. I seem to miss all the drama on this place. Who needs Jeremy Kyle.
  14. I'd sell him, he clearly wants to go and as much as i'm sad to think off him not being a Gooner any more, i don't want every season to turn into the Fabregas to Barca circus like the last two.
  15. Looking at getting a new Macbook, nothing wrong with my current one but I like to upgrade fairly regularly. Would anyone be interested in buying my current one? It's the white one that has just been discontinued, I bought it last April. It's never actually been moved off my desk and is in cracking nick if I do say so myself. I was looking for maybe £200 if anyone was interested. I can provide more deets if needed. I could put it on ebay, but I can't be bothered
  16. It will be fine if we can keep Sanga, Gibbs, Vermaelen and Koscielny fit for the whole season I've no problem with Djourou, he's a very adequate deputy but Bartley and Squillaci are not good enough for us. I've not seen too much from Jenkinson but he looks solid enough. I've never been a massive fan of Rosicky but I though he looked pretty class yesterday and will do a job when needed. You could see Gervinho is class, his movement off the ball is top notch. Ramsey looks like he's becoming more and more confident in being the player we want him to be. For me, the two most important players this season are RVP and Szczesny. RVP is RVP, nuff said, Szczesny got better and better as last season progressed and now he knows he's the number 1, i'm expecting good things from him. Those two also seem to have a genuine love for the club and everything it stands for.

I always liked him and Carter, they were on paper such an unlikely friendship but the way it grew through the years was great to see.

Season 3-8 are the best, some of the season long storylines in 6, 7 and 8 are amongst the best I've witnessed on the medium of TV.

I adore this so show, it was the first TV show I became obsessed with. So many great characters, very few shows can match it in the drama stakes. As everyone knows the quality declined when the last original left (Noah Wyle) but it was still a patch above most shows. The first 8 seasons were brilliant TV and there's so many episodes I can think of that I love, very few bad ones. No matter how many times i've seen an episode, i'll still watch it again if I see it's on, even though I do own the complete boxset.
  21. Going through a bit of a Jimmy Eat World phase at the moment, which coincidentally seems to occur whenever something awful happens in the world that forces us to re-examine everything we consider humane So many great songs to choose from but I'll choose just one.
  22. There's probably a lot more I could learn about addiction but i'm pretty comfortable with the knowledge already possess on it. Obviously there's more to it but i'm no MD and i'm not going to regurgitate everything Wikipedia says on the matter. It's funny, off all the things said about her in this thread, there's not much talk of her actual music. Life deals everyone bad hands, some people can cope with that, some people can't. Unfortunately unless they're a friendless orphan drug addict, there's always going to be people who are hurt by it long after their gone. Amy Winehouse's death brings me no joy but it also doesn't upset me, she had a choice and she made it. What does annoy me is when it's all over the papers and TV as being tragic, it certainly was not. It's all the more infuriating when you consider what happened in Norway, that's tragic.
  23. It's always their fault, you make a choice to take drugs, you don't just suddenly ingest them whilst eating a Mars. I've seen some pretty disturbing things due to the effects of drugs and you clearly have been affected too but my view isn't wrong because it doesn't correspond with yours. I just don't get the whole 'it's ok to do drugs if you've had a shitty life'. Addiction is addiction, whether that be to Tobacco, Alcohol or Drugs. Yes, they all have differing physical effects but mentally addiction is the same.
  24. The he should have been immediately dismissed for kicking the ball away...
  25. To start with i'm not happy she's dead, I didn't celebrate when I heard it, I just wasn't surprised. As for everyone going on about addicition and what it does to families, i've seen it happen twice to very close family members and having done everything possible to help them and have it shoved back in your face everytime, it then becomes difficult to suddenly feel sorry for them when the inevitable happens. It's obviously not that easy though, because they are still family and subconsciously you'll never loose sight of that and you'll always wonder if there was anything else you could have done. On the other side, having also seen someone die from a terrible disease such as Cancer and knowing they can't do anything about it, I struggle to empathise with addicts, a disease they have so much control over, if only they want to. Obviously with Amy, I have no emotional ties so I can see it differently. People will always disagree but just because you're not in pieces and don't consider her dying in any way tragic doesn't mean you're wrong or sick. She isn't a martyr and some people would do well to remember that.
