If a point away is great, how do you sum up 3 points away? SCOTLAND ARE GOING TO BRAZ......

Could you please retweet this competition entry for me!
Jon replied to Retro_Link's topic in General Chit Chat
I was gonna retweet it after I followed you but i've been blocked from following you. I then spent the next 2 minutes wondering what I done to offend Retro, I came up with nothing. I then went and ate some ice cream to cheer myself up. -
Before I follow you, is all you tweet about Nintendo? In that case i'm gonna have use the abuse button.

There are some people on here that are passable. I'm far too lazy to search for anyone on twitter. So why not drop your Twitting handle here so you can be spammed all night long. https://twitter.com/Jon_Stacey XX

I'd have to agree with this. Belgium are a class side but I don't think they threatened to much. Class goal for the one and Hanley making a mistake for the 2nd one. The only change i'd like to have seen was Rhodes on from the start. He showed far more in his little cameo than Griffiths did. You've also got to wonder why Rhodes, whose playing at a higher level, coming off a 29 goal season last year isn't being kept on the bench by a guy playing a division lower. I could understand it if Rhodes wasn't performing but he certainly is. I really liked Charlie Mulgrew last night, never put a foot wrong and his range of passing is phenomenal. He has to be a regular starter for me in every game, he's so versatile too, can play almost any position.

I would totally disagree with that. I've always found stretching useful for counteracting DOMS. I always do stretching and some foam rolling after every workout and it's a big help for me and the body the following day. Everyone is different however. There are so many studies for and against it. Whatever works, do it.

Really? I couldn't imagine going running, lifting or doing any sort of sport without some stretching. Sure fire way to get injured, going in cold.
-
Got to question what phone plan Wenger's been on all these years if that's what it takes to get these sort of deals done.
-
I think Podolski did fairly well considering he never really played up top, got a consistent run in the team and did miss a while with injuries. Mourinho did also say Özil was the best no 10 in the world, so I think he's fan, I don't really see how Chelsea could have signed him with logjam they've got and FFP fast approaching. Reading into things, I don't think Madrid wanted to sell him, you could probably see that from what the fans think of him. They didn't have much of a choice in the end, they needed cash, and a lot of it. Theres absolutely no way your lot will finish 2nd. Never. Going. To. Happen.

It's hard to be making any predictions after 3 games. Man City on paper did well but they've been rank on the pitch. Spurs have strengthened well but again struggling to score goals. Man Utd and Arsenal have essentially played with the same squad as last year, we'll see how they fare after the international break. Liverpool have added a lot, they're playing reasonably well, hard to find much fault with them other than the struggle to score goals. We've only really seen Schurrle for Chelsea so far and he's been pretty anonymous but he is real quality. As much it annoys me we haven't brought in more, it's hard not to be delighted with Özil, he's the best in the world at his position. If Madrid didn't need the cash, we would never have got him. Some of the things i've read this morning would make you believe he's been warming the bench at the Bernabeu for the past few years.

I think the Podolski claim you made was something like 20 league goals or something similar. I don't mean to insult but it's hard when you pop up with these moronic statements every few months Saying a player can't be that good because Chelsea didn't sign him is a little bit silly no? Before he went to Madrid, Modric was primarily known as an attacking midfielder, be it one that didn't have many assists or goals but that's what most people would class him as. You're right though, he'll play the more withdrawn role for Madrid.

Renting, Mortgages and other things that remind us how old we all are
Jon replied to Shorty's topic in General Chit Chat
A lot will depend on where you're buying. Up here, you'd have have to be buying a beast of a house to be paying more a month on the mortgage than if you were renting. Renting is ridiculously expensive round here. -
Why were they even after Contreao, not like you don't have enough left backs already. Surely 3 would have been overkill.
-
From what he's said, he's going to somewhere where's he genuinely wanted and will be worshipped by the fans, he also mentioned the chance to play for Wenger. For all the stick Wenger get's he must be a dream to play for. He never criticises his players and his stubborn belief in them isn't always a bad thing. I think he knew he was slipping down the pecking order at Madrid. Chance to be the main man, something he's never had at Madrid was probably appealing
-
Apparently the Contreao deal is not happening.

Don't be a clown Dazzy. No Arsenal fan thinks we've done great, we're painfully aware about the problems we still have in the squad. Why would Chelsea sign Ozil? he wasn't available until 2 days ago, Chelski have about 15 midfielders as it is. Ozil is comfortably amongst the best players in the world at his position. I wouldn't for a second take any of Chelsea's midfielder ahead of him, I'd be shocked if anyone would. Fact is Madrid had to recoup money for Bale, Ozil was a way to do that. If they're happy with Modric instead, more fool them. Just think the damage he's going to do to your lot. I hope for your sake Dawson and Vertonghen learn how to play an offside trap.

Our record fee is undisclosed, every fee is undisclosed. We don't open our fees for anyone.
-
We've actually done it. It's only taking us 10 years BUT WHO CARES. WE'RE GOING TO WIN EVERY TROPHY FROM NOW ON.
-
Fellaini is a strange one. Very good player, don't get me wrong but he's more of a brute, not the creative spark you're lacking. I heard there was a German available from a Spanish side, would have suited you perfectly.
-
Perhaps we're borrowing the stage off Madrid for our own presentation. Unlike Bale, Hopefully Ozil can do some keepy ups.
-
I just can't see how Wenger looks at our squad and thinks Giroud is all we need for 60 games this year. Get the cheque book out Arsene!
-
I have visions of someone 'losing' the paperwork or being one number out on the fax number and it not getting done. Our summer recruitment would be Emiliano Viviano. /cry.
-
Are sure this is Viviano and isn't in fact Almunia?
-
Yeah, you had that mad scramble in the box in the 92nd minute, all occurring at the end of the game. Not sure i'd call the Soldado shot a clear chance when you'e got half the team a metre in front of him trying to block it, not sure how it's classed as a 'fluke' if Giroud did what he meant to do. Anyway, better luck at the Lane
-
Seriously. How could that game have gone either way. You and Dazzy keep going on about more shots, yes shots. Quality chances? next to nothing. Giroud had a couple, Walcott had a couple and Monreal missed an open goal for us. Townsend's deflected shot was it for you. Possession? yes you had more, again quality possession? next to nothing. You did nothing in the final third. I've watched the game back 4 times and even taking a neutral view point I really am at a loss to see how you think that game could have gone either way. Hearing the Ozil deal is almost done. The fanboy inside me is rather happy.
