The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch
FireMeowth replied to darkjak's topic in Nintendo Gaming
This is definitely a good thing considering that the game will have voice acting. So many games have been ruined by being unable to use the characters' names in important scenes just for the sake of letting the player name them what they want... -
Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!
FireMeowth replied to Serebii's topic in Nintendo Gaming
It looks to me like they're all evenly spaced apart from the center of each icon to the next*. The differing shapes and sizes mean that comparing the spacing between the edges of the icons is pretty pointless. (Also, that's not even what the bottom row looks like anymore. Get rid of that TVii icon. ) * I haven't counted the pixels yet, but if I can't notice an inconsistency wihout deliberately looking for it I don't think it's that big a deal. To each their own though, I guess. -

The Wii U has my favourite UI of any console ever. It's so clean, convenient, and beautiful - I believe I've mentioned before how I sometimes end up just looking at the menu for minutes instead of actually starting up my game. The Switch UI looks terribly boring and much less convenient from what I've seen so far, but hopefully it has more customization to offer... (And please give us Themes this time, Nintendo!) -
Tiki looks adorable. (Then again when doesn't she?) ...That might be it for my contribution to this thread. At least until the day they announce that they're adding ♯FE characters to the game, haha.. aha..... ..... ...RIP my wallet if they ever do...

Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore (16th Jan)
FireMeowth replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
When viewing the TOPIC messages for the current chapter, press the button in the top right ("Details", I think?). It will have a summary of what has happened in the chapter so far and usually gives you an indication as to what you should be doing next. Assuming you're not in an intermission, of course. You might have gone back to an earlier dungeon for a sidequest in which case you should check the map - either the dungeon map for an enemy icon or just the Tokyo maps to see if there's an accepted quest somewhere, so you can check the details with the quest giver. Or maybe you wanted to grind for Unity materials, but you'll have to check that back at the Bloom Palace, I guess. -
Preordered mine today, along with Breath of the Wild (Limited Edition of course), Skylanders Imaginators, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, LEGO CITY Undercover, Splatoon 2 and Super Mario Odyssey! Will probably end up buying quite a few more of the announced games, too. Especially very interested in learning more about Fire Emblem Warriors.

The worst news I've heard all day. -
The Awakening-Falchion and him wearing Chrom's outfit? And that's part of why I was so happy about it, haha.
-
I was so happy to see Chrom as the first confirmed character (he finally got his chance). Now bring on those ♯FE characters please!!
-
DRY BONES AND BOWSER JR. ARE BACK!!! ...So yeah, this is definitely on my to-buy list.
-
It's the Luffy game I never knew that I wanted!! Looking forward to learning more about it.

Give me TMS♯FE characters - even if only as DLC... heck, I'd even be okay with just alternate costumes for other characters - and I'd buy a Fire Emblem Warriors in a heartbeat! (I'd probably be interested even if it only had regular Fire Emblem characters, but y'know.) -
Retrospective: Your best Wii U moment(s)
FireMeowth replied to Debug Mode's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I have hundreds of fond memories from all the amazing Wii U games I've played - it is my favourite Nintendo console and has many of my favourite games from their respective series and franchises, after all - but the best time I spent with the console was playing the fantastic Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE, which quickly became my favourite game of all time! -
Everybody I know are blasting through the game, meanwhile I'm still hanging around on Route 1 cause I've had next to no time to play the last few days. I did catch a wonderful (Adamant Skill Link) Pikipek, though. Named him Toucoco, after a toucan fakemon I made when I was probably around 10 years old.
-
I actually found a name for the owl in just a third of the time it took me to find the protagonist's name! I'm really proud of myself. My adorable Rowlet is named Quillow! (From "Quill", "Arrow" and "Willow"... And also because quillows are a wonderful invention!) Oh, and I forgot to say earlier, but I named my trainer Natalie. Next up will be Pikipek's - or rather, Toucannon's - nickname, I guess... But I have plenty of time to think about that one.
-
Hey, it took me less than two hours to find a name for the protagonist this time! ...That's very fast by my standards, at least... Now to think of a name for my owl... Perhaps I'll actually get my starter Pokémon before the day is over!
-
This is my favourite kind of "glitches". GG cheaters!
-
Got my games, bonus Solgaleo and Lunala figurines for preordering, and a free poster and inflatable Poké Ball cause I was so early, too! Now to sit around for hours trying to figure out names...
-
Hmm... I could go buy the games at the midnight launch, but I won't have time to play that late tonight and I have to go shopping tomorrow morning anyways... I think I'll just wait. I need more time to think about names for my trainer and starter anyways. Also, to commemorate the end of the 6th generation, I drew some fanart of the very best and most important part of it!

Yeah, all of Japan already had the Pokémon bug, so while Pokémon GO was hugely successful there as well, it obviously didn't bring nearly as many new players to the franchise as it did in the west.

Pokémon Omega Ruby & Pokémon Alpha Sapphire
FireMeowth replied to Serebii's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Now now, they're obviously just saving the best for last. Imagine how disappointing it would be to end the year with the garbage-tier Genesect... -
I think the reason why you couldn't in X/Y and OR/AS was because they used the 3DS camera for weird features, like using a photo on your PSS profile, and for the contest stuff in OR/AS... As far as I know there are no such features announced for Sun/Moon yet... It was fair enough for X/Y as 3DS Miiverse didn't even exist yet, but surely they must have realized by now that most people would much rather be able to post screenshots, right...? Especially with the Poké Finder, I'm sure tons of players want to share their snaps on Miiverse. If we have to use the Global Link to share Poké Finder photos...

Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!
FireMeowth replied to Serebii's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Weeell, Miiverse wouldn't be anywhere near as good without the GamePad's touch screen though, which is why I'm desperately hoping the Switch has one as well. Forget about drawing - even typing standard text posts would be absolutely terrible without the touch screen! -
Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!
FireMeowth replied to Serebii's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Personally I use Miiverse every single day (mostly for looking at other players' posts, though I also regularly make my own Play Journal entries and I've even posted a couple of drawings), and I think it's just about perfect in its current form, though I'm sure they could find ways to improve it that I've never even considered - they've already done just that several times. Actually, I think I can safely say that it's my second favourite thing to come from this entire generation, only trumped by my favourite game of all time, so I definitely hope they'll keep Miiverse around for the Switch. Not that I can really see any reason for them to drop it.
