Why? Nintendo has recently opened up both eShops to self publishing. Having another company publish splits profits and is completely pointless on a digital platform. It's not weird or unusual

Can a mod change the title to Soriti Horse (eShop) Yep, it's confirmed. Unrelated to Pokémon and merges Solitaire and Horse Racing http://www.4gamer.net/games/226/G022607/20130723007/ Soriti Horse. Merges Solitaire and Horse Racing. Release on July 31st for 500 Yen on the Japanese 3DS eShop. Game is divided into Solitaire Phase and Control Phase. Solitaire Phase: You play solitaire to improve the bond with your horse and make them run better. Control Phase: You use the touch pen to navigate the courses, reacting to certain parameters and course attributes. Races continue by switching between phases back and forth. In the final stretch, you use items and power you collected along the way, plus a whip to send your horse over the finish line. Raise your own horse, turn it in to a QR code and share it with others. Self published (first GF game to be so).

Games You Tried To Like But Didn't
Serebii replied to Fierce_LiNk's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Uncharted and Last of Us for me. After everyone raving on about them, I gave them a go hoping to love them like everyone else. They're very pretty games, and Last of Us has a great story, but gameplay-wise I found them mediocre at best. Very repetitive and the combat is just awful on them. I really don't see why people are so in love with them other than the cinematic scope of it -
I've moved the posts from the previous thread yesterday, which were wildly off topic. You can carry on with the discussion here, but please keep it civilised. Any flaming posts or the like will be deleted. - Fierce_LiNk

God bless America. Nintendo really should have included artillery Pikmin, and Olimar/Alph etc. have a gun that fires them, rather than throwing.

Well it's a common thing I see around the net. For every other company, it's a sequel. If it's Nintendo, it's a rehash. Hell, I've seen loads of people call this game a rehash. But I digress, hope ShopTo start processing

Plus, those games don't get marked down for being so similar to past games like Nintendo games do. Not to be a conspiracy theorist, but it's true.

Todays picture Pic of the day. Viridi, Goddess of Nature, is about to obliterate the humans as they battle, driven by greed.

Could Nintendo Survive Going 3rd Party?
Serebii replied to Sheikah's topic in General Gaming Discussion
It would cause issues. Look at DVD & BluRay Players. They all run differently, especially BluRay players. Some struggle. Some have pauses when they go to the next layer. Some have horrific loading. Imagine if it was just one standard player, made by loads. You get Call of Duty 34: Geriatric Warfare and go to play it. However, your player can't play it as well as it's meant to. How is this acceptable? -
If this was a game with 10 iterations, I'd be worried about that. However, considering this is the third and there hasn't been one for 9 years...I'm ok with it

Could Nintendo Survive Going 3rd Party?

If Nintendo did something wrong, then you'd have a point. I do complain when Nintendo does something stupid. As evidenced by when they announced they weren't doing an E3 conference. However, you're assuming these things can be done instantly. They need to finetune the emulators first, which takes a while. Then, for each game, they have to finetune it and that takes a short time too. Then, they need to bug-test it. It's not a "Oh, let's drag and drop this ROM" situation. Please think things through before you complain. -

They provide a weekly stream of Virtual Console games for both the 3DS and Wii U. That's what they have been doing. So it didn't start at launch. Big deal -

I'm not against the censor. It should just be automatically off, not automatically on -
That is so not true

That won't speed up the finetuning of the emulators for each game... -
Could Nintendo Survive Going 3rd Party?
Serebii replied to Sheikah's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Or it meant that they had only perfected the base emulation by then and were going at the fastest rate they can? -

It's also marketing. If they somehow managed to unleashd the entire load at launch, while would be good for some, most Virtual Console games would be ignored -

Just because they worked fine with those emulators doesn't mean they work to Nintendo's standards -

I think writing to our respective MPs could help sort this out, or at least give them reason to consider changing to opt-in rather than opt-out -

My Virgin Media router has these things (keyword/domain blocking) in the settings. You can turn them on/off at will. They should not, however, default to being on. -
Could Nintendo Survive Going 3rd Party?
Serebii replied to Sheikah's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Actually, there is. Each game has an emulator designed specifically for it. Each emulator has to be redone for each console so the game can be perfect on the console. They could have gone for a one emulator fits all, but it just wouldn't have provided a perfect experience for each game. The 3DS and Wii U have very different architectures so for them to share a Virtual Console library each would have had to have been recoded twice. It's a programming thing. Trying to hunt down the interview. All I can find atm is the search engines spouting Iwata talking about third party woes -

By forcing it on an ISP level, it provides a sense of dictatorship that does not belong in our culture, more along the lines of Stalin's Russia. It's up to the parents to do their job and protect the children, not the government. My main issue is with how they're going to set it up. Blocks such as these are logistically unfeasible to do. Not all sites will be possible to be blocked and many innocent sites will get hit in the crossfire. Take forums. They get filled with spambots who sometimes try to post links to illicit material. Systems such as this would then block the innocent sites. This is unacceptable. I get what they're trying to do, but they need people who actually know how technology works before they start imposing ridiculous blocks.
