ah, god. I've had a rethink and it seems to be mathematically right. I can't seen any errors in the working. I think where the error lies (and there has to be one) is in an assumption made. It seems small but 0.99999rec * 10 perhaps does not equal exactly 9.999999 rec because you have shifted everything one place forward, so what ever "inaccuracy" there is at infinite places has now become 10* bigger. so assuming that 9.99999rec is the same as 10*0.999999 might be the downfall behind this. However, i'm not very good at proofs and am probably wrong, because to me it seems mathematically right. I think to solve this perhaps its all about the nature of infinite and what a recurring number actually is...definitions. because tbh, there isn't any REAL difference between 9.999999 rec and 10. nothing that you can right down is there? but we do know they are not the same.

ah, i'm not quite a veteran as some of you here. However some of your comments brought back alot of memories. I think the "accident" episodes are by far the best bit of neighbours. Like for example, who can remember when Joel got caught under a car and then the river rose? and karl had to make this breathing thing so that he would'nt drown. very tense. I agree that drew's death was very unexpected, especially as he only fell about 6ft, It seemed ridiculous that he died, but i guess that sort of thing can happen with head injuries. Oh, i think the most amazing and completely unexpected accident was when todie and dee went off the edge of that cliff into the sea! it was like happy honeymoon one second and then the next she was nowhere to be seen. I also think dee was the best neighbours women

the line of working that looks dodgy to me is. 9*0.99999....rec does not equal 9.999.....rec does it? to me it sounds wrong. Surely at the end you will get a small bit of difference. The only way this would be true is if you did 10*0.9999rec Therefore, the step where you took away 0.999 to leave 9 is wrong. It would infact leave a tiny bit left. 0.0000001 or something. therefore the whole rest of the proof does not work.

With the gamecube i was expecting nintendo to go into online gaming and also for them to offer more western style games, i.e fps and racers. In that sense the gamecube has been a huge letdown for me and also with regard to market share this generation has not been good for nintendo. They are now definitely third place, so i really don't think the gamecube can be labelled a success even if nintendo made money from it. Positive point; much less time between games than in the n64 days. though not as many good, regular releases as the xbox, at least recently. The gamecube has also been a haven for "quirky" titles, i'm thinking of games like donkey konga, pikmin, warioware, viewtifull joe, and some others. Which is something nintendo have provided well for. Getting resi 4 exclusive for such long a period was a big coup for nintendo and i'm impressed. its also a great game, just a shame they couldn't keep the franchise exclusive. The "standard" nintendo games have been a mixed bag, mario sunshine did not live up to mario 64 at all, far too short. F-zero i think diddn't break enough new ground as diddn't mario kart. The Wind Waker i think was about as good as majora's mask, not as good as OOT but a good solid zelda game with a nice graphical style, but badly rushed at the end. Metroid wasn't really my sort of game but i think it was a very good game. an example of a game that wasn't rushed! (or at least did not suffer) Nintendo need FAR, FAR beter third party support next gen, or at least not get inferior versions of games, but their support has been generally better than the n64 and i think on the whole things have improved for nintendo fans.

the whole adoption storyline is making me cringe, its just sooo wrong. To have the mother of the child in your home etc. I diddn't even think you were allowed contact. Makes it dramatic however! I'm not a soap person, but i think i will probably try and watch it every so often at Uni. I've been watching it for over 10 years now. Thats a thought.. who's been watching the longest? who can remember Karl's affair with Sarah (i think)/ I can remember that, and i can remember toady's older brother at school and stuff.

I really liked it, i often don't like the style of fighting in martial art films because theres too much emphasis on "dancing".. i think you know what i mean by that. Whereas the fights in this film felt very gritty and realistic, i also liked the fact it was set in the uk and had british actors.

Xbox, by far. I started this generation as an avid nintendo fan who wouldn't touch another console with a barge pole. To this extent Microsoft have achieved alot by turning me into one of their hardcore fans. The xbox did this for a number of reasons. 1) The Best Hardware, by and large xbox has the best looking games. It tend's to get the best versions of multi format releases and its exclusives to tend to beat the other consoles in terms of looks and features. I'm thinking of the hard disk in particular here. Which has brought alot. The controller s is also my personal favoruite out of the consoles, though the xbox itself is probably the worst looking out of the bunch. 2) The Games, out of all the consoles xbox has provided me with the most play. Genre's i love are extremely well catered for on xbox, such as FPS and racing games. FPS was at one time the preserve of the n64, the gamecube has had a terrible selection of these and Halo 1, Halo 2, and the numerous stategic shooters from ubisoft have been the main pulling factor for me. Also racing is well catered for, pgr2, forza, burnout 3, etc. 3)Online, the biggest reason by far. Gamecube essentially does not offer this. This feature alone has meant i played the xbox about 10 times more than i would without. It has also provided alot of new experiances which i thought were lacking on gamecube (from the multiplayer perspective). Basically, Multiplayer wise i think the xbox has destroyed the competition. Single player wise things are more even but xbox (depending on your taste) is still similar to the gamecube. Gamecube's strong points for me would be some really great single player games like zelda, mario and metroid. Also pikmin.

Well, depending if you class dreamcast as this generation or not. here is my list. Dreamcast: Shenmue 1 and Shenmue 2, both amazing rpg's. Gamecube: Resident Evil 4, i diddn'tget very far in this but from what i played it was extremely good. Also Wind Waker i consider to be probably the 2nd best zelda game, and so one of the best games this generation. Xbox: Halo 1, for the amazing single player and all the laughs the multiplayer brought. It really revolutionised console fps in my opinion and halo 2 improved on the formula. Halo 2 still being the best console FPS around i think. The online mode in particular has been a big step forward. Splinter Cell Series, very good stealth games. The online multiplayer alas is underplayed but i think its really good. The single player in number 3 is also extremely good and not something i'd seen before this generation. Quite unique. PS2 I played GTA San Andreas on xbox but i think this game has to be one of the best of the generation, perhaps i'm a GTA whore but these games just keep getting better. Vice City deserves to be included in this list in its own right and GTA 3 was the one that actually took the big lead to 3d which worked so well.
