Sarah has really let herself go.

i don't like it because their second hand prices are a rip off compared to gamestation and also the staff on AVERAGE seem to far less knowledgable and are more than willing to sell you a crappy game or offer some bad advice. Its mostly good though, gametstation is my high-street store of choice. Followed by game. But i buy 95% of my games online because its cheaper.

"Normal" force, (pusing you up) is essentially the build up of the strong nuclear forces. For example, if you stand on a floor, gravity is pulling you down. The resultant force, is provided by the "resistance" (for a lack of a better word) of the atoms in the floor. Your weight is pushing them together, slightly. This is repelled by the forces that exist between the particles in an atom. Cumatively this balances out gravity.

Mario Party 2 This generation, 5 or 6 are the best. 4 is the worst.

yeh, its really weird when people recognise you, but you don't recognise them. Really awkward too, you try and think who they could be and draw a blank.

i considered going into the RAF or Army, glad i diddn't. I don't have a problem with going to a war that is just, and some wars are. They are about self-defence. Or Kosovo where there was ethnic cleansing. But the iraq war has made my mind up, if the government can do that, they can do it again. and i'm not being forced to fight in an unjust war. I'm not putting my life on the line unless i believe in the cause.

thats really geeky! bungie.net has some stuff, but only if your a halo fan. I'm pretty sure there are online shops that specialise in this. -
i hope they make a series 3.

this takes using sex to sell games to a whole new level. I dunno, does this actually make a big difference to what games you'd buy. If you want to look at a nice women you don't buy a game! its not even real I suppose the idea is to make it "cool", amongst younger kids i guess it does. In the same way as violence or swearing makes things "cool". I personally think its lame.

yer, i understand. I just think it was all a bit misleading to begin with, stating x=0.999... when that is the same as one, may aswell of just said x = 1. None of the manipulation was neccessary at all (multiplying it by 10?) it was misleading. because nothing was changed. SHould of said what it was REALLY about from the start, i.e a recurring number is the same as the whole number it is near, as long as the recurring number goes on for infinite.
-
Ok, i understood the word explanation(s). Just made me click. Thanks. leaves me feeling a bit unsatisfied, meh. it doesn't seem right, perhaps because nothing really is infinite.
-
sorry, but i thought it was only light that could travel at the speed of light. *gets very muddled*. I also just don't get why if something is 0.99999... for infinite, WHY that makes it equal to 1? to me thats an approximation. Sure, the difference between it and 1 is nigh on nothing, but there IS a difference. Therefore it is not one.

Yes, you were. It was a really helpfull explanation. BUT, even though i'd like to think i'm mathematically orientated i don't really understand it. The sticking point is when you said that because there is no "last" 9 then there is no difference between that number and 1 itself. Its that bit i don't really understand, what you seem to be saying is anything that gets closer and closer for infinite will be the same as what it is approaching. This goes against what i've allways been taught..., that even if something goes on for infinite, it will still never get there. I'm trying to think of an analogy, but if you were constantly accelerating then you would eventually reach the speed of light, right? but according to physics this is impossible. So your saying that if you kept on accelerating for INFINITE you would be going the speed of light? Maybee its a poor analogy.

#6 Synchronised diving? I don't really get the question because i can think of loads of olympic sports where the winner does not cross a line, because the sport is judged.

yer, neighbours has a serious problem with "amnesia" storylines atm. Think about, Darcy has just had amnesia, Susan had amnesia for ages, not remembering who karl was etc. Harold fell of a cliff and came back years later, after "forgetting" his whole life. its crazy. As for dee. 'Nuff said But i do agree there is alot of competition.

Absolutely the best comedy of recent times! Can't hype this show enough, i love it. Been watching series one on dvd. My favouriite ever episode was Milky Joe, followed by "Bollo" on series one. I love the way naboo talks and refers to "dixons" or "euros" almost every episode, genius! Also, the songs are great in the first series. The second series ones not quite so good. Whey!

no, no and no! Look, if you draw a graph then 0.99999 recurring is an asymptote to the x=1 (whatever). It gets ever closer to 1 but Never, ever, ever will it equal 1. So, this 0.99999 recurring = 1 stuff is just not true. The problem is that the number X in the said equation is infitesimily smaller than 1. Rather than a quantifiable number. Its something to do with the way maths works but i think the proof only works due to assumptions about infinite.
-
Good point Hal_9 million I think we might need a maths graduate or something to give a definitive answer. I've just finished my a2, i know that his proof is not wrong in terms of the algebra. but i'm sure its wrong due to assumptions made about the recurring numbers and how to manipulate an infinite decimal place number, which is impossible surely.

I'm gonna be neighbourless too, off to uni. I refuse to pay the tv-licence so no tv for me. As for Neighbours woman, my list would go somehting like this: Izzy Dee Flic etc
-
It isn't one, 0.9999 recurring is not 1. its the closest it can be without being one, but it isn't 1. The proof makes out that it IS exactly one, i think the proof is wrong somewhere.

Well, you can consider the dreamcast in the same generation as ps2... but it seems wrong to compare it with the gc and xbox because by the time off their arrival the dc had bit the dust. It was more halfway between generations IMO.

yeh, not meaning to be sound too perverted. But she had all the right proportions, especially when she wore tight tops.
