    Yeah, there are a lot of women who are just desperate to get a husband for the social status, and I suppose they think gaijin are rich (as that's the stereotype of us in Japan). But anyway, you people going soon are lucky... I won't be able to go at least until I finish my degree, and I haven't started it yet...

    Dubs = pain, in its purest form. American ones are the worst... If you've heard the Mai-HiME dub, they made Shizuru Texan... British might have worked, but that just sounded awful. Plus as Shorty said, they always pronouce all the words wrong.

    Maybe, but dubs are nasty and soul sucking no matter what language they are in. Plus I don't want to watch something Japanese and hear American.

    The worst person like that was this girl I met who was like "Do you like manga videos? I love watching manga videos on youtube!". So I said "Do you mean anime?" and she said "Yeah, I guess you could call it that...". Oh well, I suppose it's better than "cartoon porn", which is what 90% of my friends call anime...

    My favourite Miyazaki film is Princess Mononoke, but I think Spirited Away is good too. However, it's perhaps a little too confusing...

    Basically he's saying some foreigners can think that they can get off with Japanese women due to the fact that they are foreigners and all the cafes in Tokyo with women dressed up as maids that serve you. For the record, this isn't why I want to go to Japan... I just have a general obsession with the place.

    I've read a few issues of Neo, and it's quite good but not wonderful. There are too many interviews with Japanese transexuals and the like.
