  1. All of the other games work fine, and I had booted up Brawl 40 + times without a hitch at my house. Dunno what happened.
  2. Kritter might be in this one?
  3. Someone help: I took my Wii and Brawl round to my friends, got the game working with freeloader last night and had some good games. However, this morning my Wii has stopped loading brawl, you click on start at the menu but it does jack all. Thing is, when you put in the Freeloader the Wii it starts making an unhealthy purr like noise. When I try freeloader on my friends Wii, it works fine, but I cant play it on mine anymore. Utter shit. Is it because someone entered the freeloader too many times or something. FUCK...
  4. Hah, I know in Mario Kart they would comletely screw up if they did the story mode, but I think it would benefit the game if it had a good one like in Diddy. Pipe Dream at best I suppose. Mission mode is good I guess, but there weren't enough missions in DS I think. If there was some way of getting a solid single player into MK that would be great. Maybe something like an absolutely epic track you have to win on or maybe something like in Strikers where you start with a severe disadvantage. Possibly they could do more on the bosses front. (like Diddy -again) You could race really fast bosses that require you to collect things on the course to slow them down. Where's the exit?
  5. But the crying shame is that they'd love it if they got stuck into it. Pretty much the problem Nintendo players have had over the years, trying to convince people of the brilliance. I have but one friend that likes Metroid, which is a perfect example.
  6. Why is it that MU have to make a dodgy end of the season, it is going to be perilously close. I have a nervous feeling. It happened last season too. Vidic got injured, just when things looked comfortable the defense takes a knock and things got edgy. How weird would it be if Chelsea won this year though? All the pundits are crazy in writing off teams which are only a few points behind the pace, everybody sort of forgot Chelsea were in contention and they've crept up on the lead.
  7. Yeah I knew I'd fucked up that title up,I honestly don't know why I didn't change it. Oh right I forgot you were Death Jam. That is a coincidence :/
  8. Metroid Prime 3 didn't have a patch on the others, but it was still worth an 8. I know nobody else agrees so lets not turn this into a metroid thread.
  9. They don't have to buy Resi games for the moment then. Wait til 360 goes cheap, which it now is.
  10. I don't see why people want so many remakes, there've been too many remakes for the main 4 games. How about some more new ones developed with fresh ideas and story instead of an easy cash-in? Re-makes are good but they have gone too far.
  11. Thinking about it, the Wii wheel will be very fun to play with, and the problem isnt that there's more control with the GC pad, it's the skill in being able to use the wheel the best out of everyone else playing. For manual drifting what does it mean?
  12. ^ No but them saying it was unjust because they had never played a Smash Bros game hardly, and they used the same old moves over and over.
  13. It's so annoying, I have some friends that appreciate Brawl, and some who just play it and say its boring. I tell them that it's probably because there are quite a lot of controls and that they aren't good enough at the moment but they don't accept this. These same people love death jam, which I don't like, but I say the same applies to me. But they are having none of it. I can't help but feel pissed off with them on occasion.
  14. Sheik is quite good for snap-shots if you know what I mean.
  15. Im not saying MK should have a story mode, I'm saying that it wouldn't add any depth/extra stuff to the game, whereas in another series like Metroid or Zelda, story is enough to warrant a new game along with a couple of other things. It worked brilliantly in Diddy Kong though, did no-one have it or something? The hub-world was large, cool, had many secrets and there were also races within it against a giant elephant on a magic carpet. Who wouldn't want that?
  16. But Shad, those games are expected to hav small changes, yet they're enough. MK has been doing the same old thing each time with a couple of gimmicks. What makes Courruption acceptable is that its part of a trilogy and has the PED suit mechanic. MK can't do this because there is no story and there have been a lot of entries.
  17. just to ram home: 'How ironic that, just as we cross the finishing line, Nintendo should fire off one of their patented blue shells and stop us in our tracks. While playing the game we failed to find the option to turn off AI karts, leading to the unpleasantly crowded races outlined above. Turns out the option is in there, squirreled away amongst the many menu screens (and, boy, does this game love menus). So, with a press of a button all the problems are cleared up? Yes and no. It's great to race without interfering AI, but at the same time, this is a game clearly designed for 12 players. Track design and arena size reflects this, and without those extra 10-8 heads (depending on your local multiplayer) they can seem a tad lonely - you don't need all that space for four karts. And balloon battle? It still stinks. Meddling AI is but one of many criticisms of the mode, the balloon battle we know and love has been properly gutted - the last man standing survival element replaced with a score points against the clock event. Lose three balloons? You jump right back in with another three. AI or no AI, this ain't right. Apologies for the AI confusion, but the score stands.' Anyway, TellyN, was the Wii wheel good?
  18. 'So the two vehicles are unbalanced, then? Nintendo would say no. To compensate for their crafty one-wheel antics, the bikes' drifting capacity is curbed at blue flames. No matter how long you powerslide a bike for, you ain't going to milk a speedy red flame from its engine. Is it enough? Maybe not. The difference in speed between a blue flame and red flame boost isn't really great enough to warrant labelling the kart's extra drift reward as compensation.' '"This is not your father's Mario Kart." So proclaimed Reggie Fils-Aime when he unveiled Mario Kart Wii at last year's E3. And yes, with bikes, tricks and a heavily modified drift you'd be forgiven for believing him. Just half an hour of play, however, reveals that same old game running underneath.' 'An extra four karts - Mario Kart traditionally uses eight - ramp up the chaos within the lower ranks, but the ease with which you can glide away means you'll only ever spy the congestion on the map. And an extra four karts means an extra four loads of items chucked about - so thanks, Nintendo, for a remote speaker alarm and onscreen warning for approaching items. Seeing exactly where an item is travelling improves avoidance odds, though DS fans will miss the comprehensive map the bottom screen offered' This is the sort of stuff I was talking about. (from computerandvideogames.com)
  19. ^ Correct again.
  20. Where are these amazing reviews? Of course it will get good reviews, because Mario Kart standards don't really slip. But they don't take originality into account. from Eurogmer, who gave the 'easy-to-give' 8/10. 'Well - mostly. Mario Kart Wii is very similar to its immediate predecessor, Mario Kart DS, considered by most to be the strongest Mario Kart since N64 days at least. But it has made a couple of controversial additions to the fifteen-year-old formula: stunts and motorbikes. ' amazing additions.
  21. I think everyone will agree that the game will probably be fun, but there are better games around and there isn't enough change. Telling from the reviews and previews the new courses aren't good so what chance does the game have of being worthy of purchase? 'But you can play with 4 more people on retro tracks?' Give me a break. Some series can get away with a bit of repetition, but this one can't and is taking the piss.
  22. ^^^^ Im glad you said all that for me because I had almost given up hope. I don't see how Mario and Metroid games have changed little during the series when much more has changed compared to kart. Daz, My arguments aren't stupid, but you can keep making them seem it by saying they are however much you like. And I didnt like the look of baby park and didnt think it was that good. When I saw the DD courses they looked quality and were quality, yet, when I look at the new ones they have nothing that interesting and contain little detail. Previews confirm this.
  23. But Mario Kart needs more change. Mario, Zelda and Brawl are still great and they have added features, whereas Kart has gimmicks. Playing real people doesnt negate the simplicity of the courses. I don't want to be driving down a huge straight against good oppostition and being left open. Ever played Baby Park on vs mode? It goes down to luck. Wait until the right moment on the straight and red shell/blue shell them. We've had Mario Karts which can do practically everything this can. Riding bikes isnt revolutionary, but adding final smashes and having multiple game modes (fleshed out adventure) in brawl keeps it refreshing. Plus there has only been 3 smash bros games. Mario did well because huge mechanics such as flood and gravity became parts of his games. There have only been 3 3D zeldas and so it is still new as well as having better graphics in TP along with different story, both of which kart doesnt/can't have. Kart needs a change and the 'but kart shouldnt have a story' isnt good enough. It should at least have something.
  24. The game doesn't interest me but something you just said does: Crazy Taxi! I had the original on PS2 and loved it, if they brought it out on Wii that would be special.
