I like all of the controllers, and i think FPS is great on PS3. This is what I'm doing: Ebay 1. Wii + 2 pairs of controllers, Mario Galaxy, Wii sports and Excite Truck + 5 VC games 2. Resident Evil 4 + Resident Evil UC 3. Brawl + Freeloader I am selling Corruption and Zelda to a friend I think.
-
I think Id do better on ebay though.

^^ That's your perrogative. I just find the PS3 to have more appealing games, non-pay online so that I don't have to worry about using it enough. The PSN is quality, the downloads and demos are really cool. Tekken MGS4 Ratchet and Clank Resistance 2 Killzone 2 plus loads of games I can borrow from friends = win I find the system easier to use, and it isnt as rickety as a 360. and there is a CeX but I don't think it would offer me the best deal would it?

Is anyone going to help or is this going to turn into another which-is-better opinion contest? Please, I've made my decision, I'd just like some guidance as to how I should sell this thing.
-
Lol. I don't feel like this is a bad decision though, it's just the PS3 looks more fruitful.

^ Nice vids, but I have a tip for you - me and a friend almost managed to replicate a duo-ganon record from youtube and we found out that Ganon doesnt get any lag after a meteor smash using the c-stick. all you do is tap up/x to jump and straight away flip the c-stick down.

N-Europe Needs You! Worst GameCube Games
dwarf replied to NotAshley's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Not sure how that passed the Seal of Approval, just goes to show it means nothing, we should think about doing that gamers seal of approval thing going. And Cube, c'mon you know Sunshine was a good game it just didn't quite live up to your expectations that's all. I actually think the game is very good and kept a lot of challenge. I wasn't going to bother with the blue coins but some of the shines were quality, and it did have a lot proper platforming, whereas Galaxy was just too easy. -
Yeah but I would say that if Haze came out on the Wii they would have given it at least a 7 just because it's a FPS.

N-Europe Needs You! Worst GameCube Games
dwarf replied to NotAshley's topic in General Gaming Discussion
That's fine it all sounds cool to me, and yeah, every console has flaws, to be honest GC could have done a lot but it didn't offer anything very new, but that still doesn't make it a failure - metroid prime saw to that. -
N-Europe Needs You! Worst GameCube Games

strange way to say goodbye to a cool console but there ya go. I never really bought many bad GC games and im in the minority here but i thought waverace GC was poor (64 was quality). So was Monkey Ball 2. http://www.gamecubicle.com/gamecube-games-bad.htm from that list I had Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly. It was pretty poor, had repetitive levels and there were really sad things you had to collect and do. Boring Spyro game. -
Mario Kart 64 Vs. Crash Team Racing
dwarf replied to Kirkatronics's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Usually I understand someone's opinion, whether it not be in agreement with my own, but CTR is better than MK64. The courses were pretty much twice as big as the 64 ones and there was a lot more going on, seperate paths and shortcuts, more boosts and obstacles. After looking at that 64 video from youtube i now realise it is so poor. That's meant to be it's signature track, yet nothing really happens in it apart from a glitch and some dodgy looking drifting. The boosting in CTR was quality because you could do it as little/ as much as you wanted. -
I found both to be slightly disappointing, but I guess if you get Metroid 3 you should play Prime 1 first. There is very little backtracking in Corruption though, which i thought killed it somewhat, and they give the power ups to you on a plate. Either is a good choice though.

PyroBlazer is a futuristic combat racing game. Set amidst the awe-inspiring locations of New Apeiron, players get the opportunity to race through a multitude of environments using a wide selection of anti-gravity craft known as Blazers. This looks pretty cool! http://uk.media.wii.ign.com/media/142/14245910/imgs_1.html "In their quest for glory, players can blast their way through the scorched valleys of Gnosis, the deserted cities of Haedra or the densely populated Underdome of Evelads. As the players fight their way through the championship, improved Blazers with better speed, handling and superior firepower become available. Players also have the ability to pick up weapon and ammo upgrades during the race, further enhancing their ability to land the killer blow. In addition to the single player modes such as Quick Race and Championship, Pyroblazer also offers players the ability to compete against each other in 6-player local and internet-based combat racing. Powered by Eipix's proprietary Ultra Engine and Ageia’s PhysX middleware, the game offers racing and sci-fi fans an experience unlike any other in the genre." Quite a statement, but it is quite good visually, hopefully there'll be some videos soon.

I think darkjak has a good few points. I think the best definition of hardcore gamers is that they are everything a casual gamer isn't. When the term is used loosely everyone understands where the author is coming from, it doesn't need to be a big debate, if the word hardcore is used you know the game in question will have a bit of depth and a bit of something that is more than a casual game.

I was gobsmacked when they released that review. 4.5 from IGN... I thought it looked good, played well, but obviously not. They said the visuals were poor even though it was better than Resistance, which they scored highly. Maybe the demo was the only good because it was that, and also because it was overhyped. Oh well.

It's weird reading this thread because there are so many different ideas and opinions and it just goes to show how many directions gaming can go now. Next generation we could see all the consoles being seperated from each other completely, kind of like what the Wii is doing now where you'd have to buy one as well as a different games machine, except on a broader scale. However we could just see the same thing that has gone on from last gen to this gen. A few improvements here and there but what I'd say to be unsubstantial. Nobody will completely get rid of optical/physical software. That would be insane because you would lose out on the publicity of people wanting to buy from a Game-store. wasnt it Iwata that said he thought a balance between download and software was key recently?

It doesnt look great yet, but it does look fun, some of the weapons are cool, like that shotgun which he nails 2 people with. The bit at the end is interesting. This is kind of why I want a PS3, they look so much better. Haze is amazing.

^ If that last bit is true then the Wii is the worst. You can get Ratchet and Clank for 15 quid off Ebay, yet some launch titles still sell for full price everwhere. It isnt just R&C either, there are plenty of good deals.

I think the hate for the new pad is undeserved, I actually like the new R2 andL2, and so I'll probably get a six-axis and DS3 if I got a PS3. I think I'm pretty much decided on PS3 of the two in terms of games. The only thing I prefer with the 360 is the price, I think the PS3 controller is fine personally, and almost on par with 360, just not quite as comfy. Plus I'm used to it having owned a PS2.
-
I actually don't really know, I should have listened a bit more, but I think its for at least a month, not 100% sure.
-
Of those two lists, the PS3 one sounds more appealing. And it's not like it lacks shooters, it has its fair few and a broader range of other genres. I haven't played Gears of War or Bioshock, so maybe I need to try them, but many people at school said Gears was bad, although the majority here say otherwise. But I played the Haze demo and it was bloody awesome. There's games for both consoles that I like, but I'm not really an 'online nerd', it would be something I'd play every so often. I don't know.... Maybe leaning slightly for PS3 though.

Ah yes and Ratchet and Clank. That's 4 games I've mentioned that I really really like. Can someone tell me a little bit more about LBP and HOME please?

For economics, our teacher has 'given' us 100,000 pounds to spend on shares. We have to invest in at least 5 different companies, but under 10. I was thinking that if I put in a lot of money into 1 company and got the decision right, then that would probably be the way to go. What companies should I buy shares from? Nintendo? BP? Northern Rock? I don't know because I have little knowledge in this area and maybe your experience could help me win.
