I've started another run-through of MGS4. Brilliant game, just went through the first chapter and was very fun, skipping the parts I don't want, using a few stealthy moves but also popping the occasional cap into the PMCs. Wonder if Daft and co will be able to resistance the temptation to play through another time soon?!

Hehe they were awesome enemies, but I think I possibly shat myself more at the part where that creature is following you and you have to wait for the lift! I didn't realise you could kill it, I only saw one of the freezing cannister things so I was doomed really. Managed to avoid him for long enough the 3rd time though lol.

Do you reckon the Resi 5 team will come up with any enemies that match the regenerators in 4? Christ they scared the crap outta me! In particular the part where you have to press the switch to defrost the room when you know there are those freaks hanging from the ceiling. I handed the controller over at this point to my friend who shat himself, but somehow managed to take one down with 3 pistol shots without the red-sight thing! Great moment in videogaming for me.

Yeah, I think this is the benchmark for console shooters and graphics all in one.

Hey hey I know Killzone will be better overall but if you seriously get into Resistance then it is brilliant. I've really enjoyed my time with it and the later berserks and equipment is worth unlocking. The weapons are varied and interesting (maybe a bit more than K2). However Killzone 2 is going to be an insane online experience, played the beta and the graphics are brilliant and it's more satisfying to kill someone than in Resistance, everything has a real weight and purpose. You'll be happy with either, but get both at some point.

^ Yeah a bit annoying and you can only have a max of 10 questions I think. Anyway, just downloading a couple of demos to see if they install properly. Problem is that I'm currently downloading the multiplayer demo for Conquest (1313 MB) and it's taking ages. It's been downloading (not in background) for over an hour and yet it is still only at 8%! Now whether that's a problem with my harddrive or just a general problem for 40GB harddrives I don't know.

You could say that the t-shirt was £20 if you were slightly pessimistic like me. But hey if you enjoyed it then fairs. I was neither here nor there with the demo. May have to pick it up or rent it.

Well the restore has worked like I expected but I'm still yet to try downloading a demo, and am still wondering if data will corrupt itself.

It's already 24% through and I backed up earlier. I may just replace the hard-drive if it's recommended to get one anyway. Thing is if I can get it reapaired for free then that would be great.

OK so I phoned Sony and the guy was pretty good, he told me to reformat the hard-drive completely. I told him I already had done but he said to try it again. Can't see it working in my opinion. He then said if it doesn't work then they may have to do something about it. I don't think it'll solve my issues permanently if I'm being honest. The test will be if demos don't install and if videos corrupt. I'm confident games will start working again. Not sure whether I should send it back or just get a new hard-drive if/when I experience problems. I explained the issues and he immediatly replied with the hard drive solution so...

Just by looking at the trailers I can tell that this game is going to be whoopass. Usually you shouldn't judge but having already played a bit of the online and seeing some of the graphics in the trailers I just know. Will have to get my PS3 back in use as soon as possible.

No but in the instruction manual I read today if it does that I think it is because the vents are blocked/it is getting too hot. May not be the case but...

OK so I'm going to buy a new hard drive. I only want to pay £45 for one. Suggestions? Thing is if the PS3 stops loading some of my games in the menus (eg when trying to enter an online game in Resistance) is that really a harddrive problem?

As a PS3 owner I actually think this game does look pretty good. I think the alien models look iffy but other than that I wouldn't worry because it has some cool looking weapons and seems to be fun to play.

Thing is at the moment when I enter a game I can't use the XMB because it just freezes and doesn't work, so I have to turn it off. Also, lots of times the menus freeze and when loading something it fails. Finally there's the issue of corrupted data so it's all going wrong. I don't know whether I should fork out on a new hard drive in a hope it will fix or if I should ask it to be repaired/replaced by Sony. I've already had to do one system restore and I really don't think another one will solve it permanently. I need the issue to be resolved before Killzone 2 comes out. I don't have any receipts but apparently you only need a warrenty sticker and they can repair it for you, no matter if it's 1 year or 3 years old. Anyone verify that?

My PS3 is royally fucking up now. Not really a choice, it must be sent off for repair.

It doesn't look quite as good as The Conduit Joking aside, The Conduit does seems to be a cool game.
