Dual layered Ram and do I need a new drive?

Major bummer on that first bit but thanks. Guess I will just give it away as usual Yeah sorry, Do i need a new CD/DVD/Blu Ray drive. Forgot to mention that if I was to get one, it would need some blu ray functionality as the practical person in side me does not like getting old hardware that will be missing useful functions in a years time, for example, getting a blu ray drive is fine, but in the future, i may want to burn some and I would not like to get a whole new drive for my new hobby. I.E. I buy for the future, but current prices for these are silly and I can't justify a new purchase. -
One time, windows was telling me I had less RAM than I was supposed to, so i checked and found out that I had not inserted it properly

Yeah the long wires running around the house can make for some rather amusing anecdotes later on. Trippings, knocking of routers, yanking of cable to detriment of what is on the end. Just, wireless for me has always been bad. I don't think living in a flat has helped. Another alternative is those Wireless plug things but they can be very expensive and they take up a socket. Very Reliable and fast from what I have heard. -
Two questions. Firstly, I bought some ram a few weeks ago. Two Sticks of OCZ 2gb RAM to go with my two sticks of 1gb ram to give me a total of 6gb. My motherboard has 4 RAM slots so enough for all and the RAM had the same CL timings and speed despite different size. Problem is that all the ram is dual layered (i assume this means that the chips are on both sides of the RAM) and the manual that came with the board says that dual layered Ram is not supported when all the banks are full due to chipset limitations, forcing me to just use the new ram, and pack away the old as they just wont work together. Have I properly understood what is going on? If not, is there a way around it? Here is the motherboard and RAM: Gigabyte GA-G31MF-S2 iG31 Socket 775 onboard VGA 6 channel audio mATX Motherboard - Out of stock from where i bought it. 2gb RAm now out of stock 4gb RAM My second question now is do I need a new drive. The one I pilfered from my old computer for my new one, is truly buggered. Bout 4 - 5 years old and has served me well. Used to use it to burn DVD and cds but really there is no need for that. Anyways, most of my games are bought through steam so no drive required there. Others are often MMOs so I can get those online too. DVD and Blu Ray I watch on my PS3. But there are some old games that I would love to play but they are on CDs/DVDs and I would rather install them legitimately rather that download them illegally (trying to steer away from those days). Another, rather lame option, is to keep trying with my current drive as it works from time to time, but this is rare. So, your suggestions people

Cheap ones aren't all bad. I have a...400W one with the 4850 and have had nooo problems.

The dongles are truly terrible. It's also annoying when you do get them working, and then some nob end (sometimes myself) walks past them, knocking it, and destroying the dongle altogether. Card is was to go but personally, i just go wired. -
Surprisingly there is no flickering. Only thing is when you turn it on, it's like...well imagine sitting next to huge speakers with the settings on max, but change that to an assault on the eyes. That's how bright the damn thing was. Not I have turned it down, I don't want to pull my eyes out.

Sadface. Saw one pic and this did look awesome. I Love super metroid too so it really hurts that it's not on PSN. Is it made with that XNA thingie (sorry if this is an incredbily noob question, just trying to gauge if this will ever come to the PSN).

Where have you been?! This was announced on Monday/Tuesday. Anyways great purchases Drahkon. Welcome to the PSN club. You wont be disappointed Anyway, my PC received some love so here are my purchases: £165 or thereabouts. It's MAHOOOOOSIVE! Very bright too but I can instantly tell the difference between it and my crappy old 17 inch TFT monitor. MMMMM Cheap Keyboard for £4. Not as nice feeling as the old one but has nicer functionality. About £6. Recommended to me by a work colleague. Will tuck into it this coming week. £5? Really looking forward to the game but never completed the first sooooo wanted to find out more about this interesting character. If it's addictive, more books will be bought...

Thanks for the correction I generally dislike 1st person rpgs. Dunno why, just prefer 3rd person. Actually that applies to most of my gaming tastes.

You forgot Demon Souls, Otogi 1 and 2, and Chromehounds, of which the first two I played and loved. From that list, really the only games I could play were the Armored Core Series, of which I played almost all of them. Shadow tower was a japan only release, and I never owned a gamecube, Playstation or xbox 360. Although I did play one of the tenchu games and sucked at it.

What class did you play as...or rather, what class did you NOT play as I got through all of them from the first release. Fave was probably...the necro as sometimes you could feel really powerful as enemies die giving you more ammo. Oh and did you ever hear of the bullet proof monks? Boy were they tough. Or did you ever see the tactics of mages all armed with chain lightning which they would synchronise and use at the same time? Decimated teams.

I think it's the same team that has made the other good AVP games so really they should know what needs to be done to achieve what you pointed out. Really hope I have the guts to get beyond the first level this time.... Nope not just...you guys. I read this yesterday but forgot to post.

Funny thing is that you may only have 1 plat trophy likr myself, but that one holds so much weight. Competitive side that I keep hidden is stirring.

Reminds me alot of the Dark Messiah: Might and Magic game that was also published by Ubisoft I believe and was like an more immediately fun, action orientated, but linear version of Oblivion. If it plays anything like that, ill be a happy man.

Source. If they treat this like they did Demon Souls, i.e. English throughout, No hint of chinese, then Im heading to yesasia and importing this.
