Yeah console version, in the collections tab recipes that you haven't made are blanked out with a ???. The crops show how many shipped and are blacked out if you've not sent any! I had to check online to realise that I'd never sent out a sweet gem berry

I almost... really really almost pre-ordered this in Smyths as I picked up some Pokemon cards for the youngest. Now, I'm not tight with money, honestly £280 isn't a huge deal for me but I find myself refusing to part with it for this. I'm not sure why, I know I want to play Zelda but something is holding me back I have the alert set up at gameseek, at £200 I might bite (I can get a pro controller then for the same price as the normal console).

Yeah it took me to winter year 3 for the horse, I was just using coffee before that!!! The game is really deep, it took me a while to get into building relationships but it actually feels really rewarding getting all the little cut scenes. It's incredibly cute! In regards to checking what you have shipped and cooked it actually tells you when you hover over the item / food / fish in the collections tab! I need 4 more fish, ship 15 of each crop, complete the arcade game and complete the adventure guild tasks for the platinum

If they did Phantasy star V2 on the cube virtual console I'd buy the machine.... twice.

In my opinion it's better than animal crossing and harvest moon. There is such a huge amount of things to do it's difficult to get bored. I was massively surprised by the combat element, which is great fun and could be a small game on its own. You can choose to do whatever you want, be a fisherman, raise animals, grow crops, go hunting.... And the game changes with you. It's subtle but at first all you want is money and you have no energy so everything is time management. I'm currently in year 4, I have more energy than I could use in a day and money rolling in In my opinion it's better than animal crossing and harvest moon. I picked it up after seeing Drachon playing it and getting his recommendation. I started off generally farming and ignoring everything else, I'm now on spring year 4, 6 million in cash, auto farms with Jumino huts and enough ancient fruit in the greenhouse for a cool 400k per week in wine. I have more iridium than I'll need, and I just built a stable for a horse. Pro tip - get a horse. Shit that is so fast!!! I'm actually going for the platinum, hopefully I'll have it in a week or two

Thinking a bit more about this here is what they could have done; Switch; home console edition: dock/console (no screen) and a pro controller Switch; joy home console edition: dock/console (no screen) joy controller Switch; portable only: console with screen and a joy con, no dock etc I just think it's trying too hard. How much could the price have been driven down with a home console edition and a pro controller? I don't really game on the go except the occasional Pokemon and hearthstone which I'm already covered for.

Ok let's look at Nintendo'S target audience for this. Kids? With £330 to spend including a game? No. So parents with a kid? Who will spend £330 on a new machine, with a game and want to play the new Zelda? Maybe, but then just pay £40 for Zelda on the Wii U which releases at the same time and will look and play in a very similar fashion. Oh and if you have 2 kids and a wife, that's another Joycon needed, so make that £400. People who want to game on the move? Possibly, but for £400 you can get a good spec iPad or in the family situation you can get 4 2DS all with the new Pokemon game. Who is the target audience?! I'm so incredibly confused by this. I don't know who the switch is for. Onto the price. It's absurd. At £200 it would sell. At £220 with 1,2 switch it might start to gain traction. £250 with an extra joy con and 1,2 switch I can see the appeal. At £200 I see it as an impulse buy, it's something you can pick up and not think to much about. At £280 I compare it to the current market. I have a phone and 2DS for mobile gaming if I want to anyway, so I look at home consoles. A PS4 500GB slim with Driveclub, Uncharted 4 and Ratchet and clank is £200. Add a years online and a second controller and that's £280 maximum. Online is the next thing. Nintendo have a bad rep when it comes to online gaming. They don't seem to "get it" and everything is convoluted. It's just not they're thing. If they wanted to test an online pay wall why not stick wifi with the NES mini and have a £6.99 monthly fee to access the whole NES catalogue. Anyway I know I'm moaning, it's just sheer dissapointment as I was quite looking forward to a budget machine on par with the 360 power wise at a reasonable price that I could play 1st part Nintendo games on. There's no doubting that they make great games, I'm really gutted that I'll miss out on these new ones until the price matches where the market is.

The more I'm reading about this online the worse it is sounding. I'm getting serious vibes that this launch could be the biggest fuckup since "Saturnday" turned into "out now" lol Nintendo is turning into Woolworths. Supplying a bit of everything at an extortionate price while not doing any of it really well. Still, a PS4 port of Zelda with trophies could be nice down the line haha

Is it right that you have to sign up to online to get access to the phone app If that's true it's hilarious. And 3rd party Devs will be put off by the lack of internal storage for updates surely? Is there another press conference later today?

Well..... I was ready to pre-order one of these when I heard £200 and I figured it would come with a game ala Wii sports (1,2 switch).... £280... with no game... and an expensive pro controller. Nope. All my nopes. 1,2 switch looks like a £5 tech demo, arms is. £15 game I'd get my kids. Mario is a console seller but by the time it's out I think the console might already be dead. Put it in perspective, I have 4 PS4's at my house, my kids have one each as do me and the wife. I paid £220 for hers just before Christmas with a years online, COD and Fifa. We have headsets for party chat and get a few games a month with PS+. I'd be looking at £330+ for this with just Zelda and I have no faith in a paid online service by Nintendo being any good. Ah well, I'll wait for it to be £100 at CEX or something.
