  1. Good news everyone! I think boredom has become my very way of life, waking up day after day with my best prospect of happiness being able to forget I even exist from one hour to the next. For the love of Christ will somebody please set me on fire so I can occupy myself.
  2. Here some good news we can all enjoy: the BNP have lost all of their council seats in the Barking Council vote in East London. At least there is some sanity in these islands. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/election_2010/england/8668885.stm
  3. I would much rather have a progressive Lib/Lab coalition but I guess that isn't looking like a viable option.
  4. Nope, don't worry, D&G was held by Labour. Dumfriesshire where we are was also held by the Conservatives though. Goddamn English snooty retirees.
  5. Seriously disappointed by the Lib Dem showing yet relieved that the Conservative haven't got it all their own way. Mixed emotions all round it seems.
  6. So basically, nobody wins. Fantastic.
  7. I think I'm going to call it a day - I'm going to go do what I do at the end of every day, go to sleep and hope against hope that something has changed by the morning. Something positive.
  8. Ok, it's 1:27am. I'm now officially committed to at least 2am.
  9. Using the BBC election calculator and inputting the N-E poll, assuming a uniform swing, the Lib Dems would have 643 seats, with the other 7 going to "other", 1 in Wales and 6 in Northern Ireland. If only.
  10. Revised exit poll forecast is a little more hopeful. I'll start adding ice to this. Soda later, or even moving onto beer if things really improve.
  11. Oi. I can see I'm going to need that scotch I've been saving.
  12. Polls closing T-minus 3 minutes. Hold on to your butts...
  13. Not that it isn't your free and fair democratic right or anything.
  14. I'll definitly stay for the Alternative Election coverage and the first round of results at 1am, then I'll have to see how I feel after that. To eat or to throw?
  15. Voted this morning, Lib Dem naturally. Saw a lot of cars queuing up to the community centre just now, looks like a high turnout this year.
  16. Lib Dem for sure. Finger crossed for a hung parliament!
  17. If Cameron's the British Obama then I must be a ferret. *scuttles off to slink around things*
  18. *Rushes to buy stock in the cider production industry*
  19. Vote Lib Dem! Every vote they get will give them a better argument for electoral reform if they get the chance!
  20. So basically, don't vote Cameron because he's not conservative/homophobic/anti-European enough? Seriously, that guy is an asshole. If you're in a Lab/Con swing seat, my advice is to vote Labour and hope for a hung parliament.
  21. It's interesting though to think that about month a go the Tories were looking certain to walk it. Now they can't even be confident of an overall majority. I don't have work on Friday so I think I'll stay up for the preliminary results in the wee hours. The polls are so finely balanced anything could go anyway. Plus Charlie Brooker + David Mitchell on Channel 4 = Raw Sexiness. Satirical sexiness!
  22. TAG YOU'RE IT!

pass it on no backsies kthxbai

    (I feel ridiculous.)

  23. Commissioned by Newsnight. Best use of license payer money ever. More - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/newsnight/8627790.stm
  24. Grargh, paying my council tax online and my balance owed at some point turned into £500 more then it should be. I'm sure it's just a mistake but goddammit I hate having to call and sort this stuff out. Even when I've got money getting all this sort of bollocks sorted out is the one thing that's always guaranteed to stress me. Dip my testicles in Bisto and leave me tied up in a nest of carnivorous rats if you want to, just as long as the bills are all sorted.
  25. I thought this was a great two parter. Maybe not The BEST WHO EVER yet but not far off. I reckon by this time next season we'll be getting stronger and stronger material as the writers figure out the new Who persona (though I still think the first episode was utterly sublime). Did anyone else hear the sound of a rulebook being torn up when the Doc said "Time can be re-written" and then just stood there staring across the sea? They basically seem to take the one die-cast rule set up by the RTD/Tennant era and cocked a gun to it's head. Can't wait to see what happens when they pull the trigger. Also I like this veracious side of Amy, at least towards the doctor. More of that please, weird as it is. Rawr.
