  1. I'm a big Sonic fan (although Rush is the only game I've really liked in the last 10 years) but I really cant say I see anything appealing about this game's gameplay just now. The visuals are good, but the gameplay involves Sonic constantly running forward along a set path and you only steer him to avoid occasionally obstacles and collect rings...it literally seems like you could just leave the controller by itself most of the time and it'd finish levels on its own...I dont understand what the gameplay actually is.
  2. I like the cover art but I hate the Wii corner thing, it really looks unbalanced and seems far poorer than Nintendo's past console branding on boxes.
  3. No, he means the entire game is in reverse, like mirror mode in Mario Kart, because of the change of sword hands for Link. I'm really getting put off the Wii version, they're obviously having trouble getting it to fit the controller properly since they went with the sword swinging (I think the main reason was to free up B as an item button so they didn't need to use the d-pad for stuff like arrows) and now they've had to create some odd reversed version of the game for it to be properly comfortable. I really wish there'd only been one version of the game in the first place, although I appreciate the Wii one had to exist to help sales.
  4. Hunters was designed as a multiplayer game all along though, they just didn't have online planned for a while. Prime 3 on the other hand is supposed to be entirely singleplayer, no multiplayer at all. If they want to add online play, they're going to actually need to build a new multiplayer mode from scratch.
  5. I think the thing is though you need to lock on to some things to use them, like lock on to the things you reach out and grab with the nunchuk and what not, as well as things you want to scan as well, so it's not being used just for combat. Anyway Retro said a while back there was no multiplayer in the game at all so I don't get the whole "play against your friends" thing...maybe he was just making an assumption or something, I don't get why Retro would throw it into the game now.
  6. Because it's a feature of the Metroid Prime series and some people may prefer to use it. There's probably some areas that are designed around locking on to objects too and some that are designed for aiming freely.
  7. That gamevideos video is amazing, this could be one of the best Wii games graphically, the water reflections, draw distance and sense of speed are all incredible.
  8. Konga 2 didn't, at least not the copy I got from GAME.
  9. So Matt "no one here trusts him for some reason" Cassamassina was right again about Prime 3 being pushed back. I'm a little annoyed because it was one of my 2 launch titles but since it sounds like it's being massively improved then I can live with it.
  10. Why is anyone surprised about the US being first? This is almost the exact same set up as the DS launch, US late November, Japan early December....in that case the DS was March Europe, which hopefully wont be the case this time though but the point is it doesn't work anymore that Japan = always first, there's already been hardware released in the west first and TONS of games released first in the US.
  11. I guess this is the "Famitsu scan" then and the other thing is some other magazine.
  12. I dunno how the controller could really "improve" a traditional football game, except from maybe drawing "lines" with the controller in the air to pass to other players and what not, kind of like the passing in that DS basketball game.
  13. That's my point. They've like 100% guaranteed now you DO swing the controller as your sword and B is now for arrows.
  14. It doesn't work that way. I know someone else explained but I notice a lot of people don't seem to realise games always have both a developer and publisher yet quite often a came will be said to be "coming" from the publisher because technically they are the ones who're bringing it out. Ubisoft are also pubishing the PC version of RE4 from what I recall and they didn't have anything whatsoever to do with the development of that game.
  15. Supposedly the Xbox has the ability to do things built into its hardware that the Wii cant do, since Wii is an extension of the Gamecube and although the Gamecube and Xbox weren't that far apart in power before, there were things the Xbox could do and the Gamecube couldn't respectively. It seems to have something to do with stuff like certain forms of texture mapping or something.
  16. I dont like how it says it's based on the PS2 and Gamecube builds of the game as opposed to the Xbox build, the Xbox one has always been far superior to the others in the past and it'd be really annoying if it turned out the Xbox build cant work as well on Wii due to missing hardware features or something.
  17. Yeah great, assuming you ignore the fact it was posted this month and specifically says you don't swing the controller as your sword.
  18. How could you physically possibly think this was real? Have you never seen any of the millions of fakes/hoaxes that have been made in the past?
  19. Yeah guess what, the person who made that put it on it to make it look more real, wow what a shock, bet you didn't see that coming huh. Also, another way this could've been made other than the photoshop filter is obviously someone could just have made this, printed it out, crumpled it up and scanned it back in so it made sense with the story. I'm sorry but none of this even matters anyway either, you can tell how fake it is just from reading it. Metal Gear Dark Snakes indeed.
  20. People have to stop judging things from one screenshot, the videos for this game look really good and it seems to have a ton of potential gameplay wise. Something about Wii graphics by the way is that since they're not going to be using fancy next gen effects for the most part most of time they're only going to really look better than current gen in videos as opposed to screens, because most of the improvements are things you see better in motion like better draw distance, better graphical effects like smoke and what not (like in this game and Prime 3), more characters onscreen, bigger areas, better lighting, all that kind of stuff. You really have to watch a video of a game before exclaiming "THAT LOOKS JUST LIKE THE GC VERSION!!"
  21. the ign video was up before the Gamespot one for the record, Gamespot have been really slow (and mostly crap) with Wii game stuff Anyway IGN have a few new screens of the game now too, to me there seems to be a noticible difference in quality between the new 3 and the older ones, better lighting or something I think maybe. http://uk.media.wii.ign.com/media/824/824474/img_3865471.html
  22. Well I'm glad at least it's not out of choice third parties aren't adding online, it seemed like it was because they just didn't want to. I guess this means Red Steel definitely has no online stuff then though.
  23. I think the whole way Nintendo's online currently works puts third party developers off, hopefully it'll change soon but I think right now people still look at Nintendo's online situation as the same as it was with Gamecube for the most part.
  24. The loading times thing is kinda inevitable. They shouldn't be too long but with the step up to DVD discs they just cant be as fast as GC load times.
  25. The music sounds like it's done by the guys who did Riders which now is a really bad thing, I hope it's just placeholder. New video shows a forest level never seen before which is kind of interesting but the gameplay still seems a bit iffy, good thing it's far off though and still lots of time to polish.
