I'm not sure if you're being serious but "fixed" reticule is the control PC and console games currently use where you move the camera, as opposed to the Wii games where you move the reticule you're aiming with and then the camera moves when you get so far across the screen. Anyway, Nintendo are doing an annoyingly good job of keeping this game under wraps...there's never any new media at all.

Zelda: Twilight Princess Discussion (SPOILERS: BEWARE)

Most of it is midi, just some is orchestrated. I wouldn't say Wind Waker's sounded shitty, though. -
Hajime No Ippo is awesome, if this game turns out good I can only pray it makes it to an English speaking country at least so I can import or something.

It's odd how in the "screens" Sam has a shadow and in the video he doesn't at all....wondering if it's only the video that really represents the Wii version.

1.5 times, but yeah shots like that are very impressive. Remember though that screenshot will look exactly the same on Gamecube. -

I think that's why he used that smiley, cause there's nowhere to watch it. -
True, although Wii games actually kind of go the opposite way from real life....like the arms and gun move first, then the head moves a little later...
-
They dont give a shit about how the games look though, if anything they're probably happy some developers aren't putting much effort into visuals.
-
I don't think they have to be honest, I think it's just that the entire game takes place inside similar looking houses, just different rooms with different places for them to hide.
-
Looks great, especially in the Wii compilation video. Has more potential than Monkey ball to me because it seems like a more "serious" game so to speak, be interesting to see how it turns out (it better make it over here).

Zelda: Twilight Princess Discussion (SPOILERS: BEWARE)
James McGeachie replied to EchoDesiato's topic in Nintendo Gaming
It's seriously not possible to have him both right and left handed on Wii I dont think, they'd have to have basically 2 entirely different versions of the game on the disc for that, because of all the changes that'd be needed to cutscenes mainly. I assume in the Wii version currently they've mirrored all cutscenes and are trying to change any scenes that have backwards text or stuff like that now to fit them. -
I don't think any shit about how "efficient" it is or anything matters, all that matters is what we see in the actual games themselves. Right now the majority of games come across looking significantly worse than what we'd expect from "Xbox level" specs, nevermind as good as, which is the problem. The thing is the extra power doesn't mean a bump in visuals unless developers can really figure out ways to get that little extra to make a big difference, which is pretty difficult. When you get a big jump like with the other systems suddenly tons of techniques become available that make big steps up significantly easier, such as extensive bump/normal mapping, HDR, advanced lighting and shadows, massive draw distances and character counts, etc. With the Wii the step up is so minor, combined with the fact the hardware cant do anything the GC couldn't, that there's not a lot developers can do to make really seriously noticible differences because you wont see anything like pixel shaders, normal mapping, HDR or anything like that on the Wii. There's some good looking games and there'll be some slightly better looking games in the future, but it's never gonna be a big step up, no matter how "refined" or "efficient" or whatever the processor is.
-
It's not everyone quoting IGN with the specs, it's that these are the specs all the developers were given to work with before they had final hardware and what they're working with on their final hardware.

I wouldn't surprise me if it's not out till 2008, we haven't even seen the game at all (that 2 second clip doesn't count) so there's no way it'll be out within 6 months.
-
I don't think that's a confirmed date at all, sorry. This game is obviously in the very early stages, perhaps barely even started at all yet. Any dates around now will have been placeholder dates, I dont see the game out before the end of next year earliest.

Zelda: Twilight Princess Discussion (SPOILERS: BEWARE)
James McGeachie replied to EchoDesiato's topic in Nintendo Gaming
No, immense over the top speculation that leads to the slight possibility there MIGHT be a sea area. -
I wish some Wii games would start supporting wireless link up for multiplayer. Surely it's possible that if someone was in one room with a Wii and another person was in another room with theirs they could play against each other on separate tv's as the Wiis communicated wirelessly? If it is, then why isn't it happening? That kind of multiplayer gaming is often amazing, especially with real time strategy games where you're planning your tactics and armies and your opponent doesn't have a clue what you're doing.

Ball and chain sounds awesome, although I can already imagine how it'll control with the Wiimote and I hope there's more to it than that. -
You must not have played Far Cry or understand that some games obviously look a lot better in motion. Far Cry has a massive amount of foliage, a huge draw distance and amazing water. It's not stuff you can really tell in stills as much, because you're only seeing small amounts and not getting an idea for the scale, but I don't doubt for a second that if this runs well it'll be the best looking Wii title. The hands may be wierd, but at least they're bump mapped, not something you're seeing often in Wii games.
-
Looking pretty decent really. If this has the same level of draw distance as the original and runs at a smooth frame rate it can potentially be the best looking Wii game.
-
I noticed that as well, it really sounds like him at some parts (one of the ice tracks I heard is almost identical to Sonic Rush's ending music), it'd be great if it's true.
-
What I heard was that when a Gamecube disc is inserted, the CPU and GPU speeds drop to the exact figures the Gamecube's hardware ran at...and that's pretty much it, that's how GC compatibility is handled.
-
Hot damn, the game actually looks great in that most recent gameplay video. It's funny how much difference a few months polishing and good video footage make compared to those first screenshots of the game that had people thinking "N64 level". With the draw distance and incredibly smooth framerate, this is up there with the better looking Wii games probably. I might actually consider buying this on launch.

The answers are no and no, pretty much.
