  1. This game looks amazing visually in comparison to that Samurai wave game.
  2. No, he said he hadn't tried on foot. I don't think he's estimated a time for anything like that though.
  3. Any games primarily being designed as "next gen" games, with the full power of the 360/PS3 in mind, wont make it to Wii...hence we're mainly going to get "spin off" games like this, new takes on franchises that take better advantage of The Wii remote than porting over a game designed for another system and throwing it in would.
  4. At the moment that seems to be the wrong thing to presume.
  5. They didn't. The whole thing about the game being cancelled game from one little unreliable fansite and somehow it spread everywhere. The game has just never been formally announced, it's kind of like Mario 128 in a sense I think, "Metroid Dread" is just a nickname for their current tests for a Metroid DS game. Also, it really wouldn't be out of place if Samus spoke. She doesn't actually vocally speak but she has written dialogue in Super Metroid, Metroid Fusion and Zero Mission. It's not a whole lot, but it's there at least.
  6. Water looks a lot better in these pics at least, the other pic with water before must've been a bad shot.
  7. What's the source? It's removed due to high bandwidth use already.
  8. What do you mean "informed by a games rep" ? For the record Nintendo havent announced a GC release date for anywhere outside the US yet, no one knows that but them, anything else is speculation.
  9. If they ever port Super Metroid it should be on DS. It'd do the visual style, music, button configuration (they'd be able to keep the run button) and map screen all a lot more justice than it being on GBA. I think the GBA would actually tarnish the quality of the game significantly and that's something I'd detest seeing.
  10. This is a great idea because it seems my 8,700 odd are never going to be used for anything since whenever games are on the site (and they usually blow) they disappear within fucking minutes.
  11. It wasn't really a "wait" with the Metroid series because I honestly never expected another one, it seemed like everything was over with Super Metroid and that the franchise wasn't going to be "milked" like the Mario and Zelda ones. It was a nice surprise when Fusion was announced (and the reason I bought a GBA) but I never really thought the series even needed to continue, it pretty much reached perfection with Super.
  12. Looks fan made to me.
  13. Not every development team has the ability to pull off amazing visuals on every system, although some could pull off a good looking next gen game but a bad looking current gen, it kind of depends on how they work and their knowledge of different programming techniques and what not as well as how well they know the system itself.
  14. That's not how it works with Wii sadly. Developers improve visuals over time on consoles as they get used to the hardware and figure out how to squeeze more juice out of it. Games will get better looking on Wii but it wont be as drastic an improvement as usual because the hardware is so nearly identical to Gamecube's, hence developers are already very familiar with it. I expect near the end of the Wii's lifecycle there'll be some games that look a good deal "better" than RE4, but dont expect games at the level of Gears of War or anything like that on the Wii ever.
  15. Well he said MC, meaning Minish Cap, which means he didn't think he should've been in it because he doesn't like characters being overused and growing stale, which is exactly what happens when you have the exact same bad guy over and over in games. Some more "shallow" games story wise such as Mario and Sonic kind of get away with it but with games that have a bit more emphasis on story constantly repeating villains really dulls the effect they have. That being said though I think it's been long enough since Wind Waker for Ganon to be in this game, especially since it takes place before WW so it's not like they're "bringing him back" again anyway, it's before the most recent time he was in the storyline.
  16. Well what if a Wii game was doing like motion capturing to record hand movements (like they should be doing) so they're real time, wouldn't there be a lot of physics processing involved?
  17. Random information I don't think anyone will have mentioned yet (I've not read every post though) but remember the Wii's control is a lot more complex than the other systems...it'll take extra processing power for the system to work out like the calculations to do things, a good deal more so than a normal controller, so that probably has an effect on the power it has left for visuals.
  18. Sorry for some reason I missed the other topic, we can lock this one I think. It does seem these are "real" screens though and the early shots in the other topic arent. EDIT: Okay nevermind they're joined now.
  19. Well that's the thing, that problem seems to come up in a lot of Wii screens. The games look "blurry" for some reason, like it's just a bad screenshot...but I don't get why it would keep happening all the time.
  20. http://uk.wii.ign.com/articles/733/733951p1.html Here's an interview about the game too. They specifically mention that the Wii is overall more powerful than the Xbox, but the Xbox can do things the Wii cant. I guess the visual quality difference is because of the things the Xbox can do that the Wii cant.
  21. http://uk.media.wii.ign.com/media/846/846381/img_3931987.html - Wii As kind of expected, looks worse than the Xbox version. Here's the Xbox version, "Far Cry: Instincts" for comparison: http://uk.media.xbox.ign.com/media/621/621324/imgs_1.html For fun here's a direct comparison between 2 screens, check out the difference in the water quality. Wii: Xbox:
  22. For the record the new guy is based on a character group in the recent manga chapters but is a new one designed specifically for this game.
  23. It does make sense yeah but there is another side to it. The artists didn't design everything where it was on the screen and all for the hell of it...it was made that way because you know, that's how they felt it worked best. There's a chance the mirroring might make the overall experience lower quality, so although we wont notice direct differences playing through a first time, there's a chance the game might just be worse as a whole because of it, like everything might not feel like it's perfectly right where it should be and at points you might even realise parts would feel more "natural" in the opposite direction. Personally I'm hoping this was only a temporary thing and it's not going to be what the final game is like. The problem is that if they only swapped Link's model and nothing else then they'd had to have changed a lot of how the game works and all the cutscenes that have already been executed, so it would've been a lot of work, but it would be the best non-lazy approach. At this moment I'm heavily leaning towards the Gamecube version now, if it comes down to it perhaps I'll try the Wii version at a later date, but I really want the experience the way it was originally thought out to be, exactly how it was pictured.
  24. How does everyone feel about the whole thing with the entire game being mirrored on Wii now? It's confirmed too, you can tell easily with shots like this. http://gonintendo.com/wp-content/photos/zelda1.jpg I'm kind of annoyed because it means if we're playing the game on Wii we're not playing it how it was originally designed to be, we're playing a version that's been flipped simply so swinging the controller as a sword feels more comfortable...which is just wierd to me. It's like starting off a Mario Kart game in mirror mode from the beginning.
  25. Nintendo said a long time ago they were never going to officially release them to the public themselves. The developers know them since they've had the technical details for an eternity (they're given them before they have the hardware so they know what to aim for with games) now but Nintendo don't want the public to focus on them so they're not releasing them themselves to make a big deal out of it. Hence the specs that we get from developers (aka the ones with the 733Mhz or whatever processor and what not that tons of developers have confirmed) are the only ones we'll ever get. The specs we've been given by developers/IGN are basically confirmed by this point anyway, I've seen tons of people working on games say those are the specs, people just seem to be in denial about it but it's about time everyone just accepts it and moves on.
