  1. I suppose you missed the "isn't really." We're not living in a pre-playstation era anymore btw.
  2. Gaming isn't really classed as geeky and sad anymore, so nowdays you'll have your average joe bloggs buying games. Like Haver said, these people don't sit on the internet most of the day researching this stuff (although it is all basic stuff), or take pride in it like the majority of us lot do. And considering it's Christmas aswell, then you'll most likely have old people buying games for their grandchildren..............and I very much doubt alot of them are tech savvy, hence why the questions are asked. My worst has been "Do you sell music here?", and considering I work in the ole virgin megastore, then that's a stupid question.
  3. I generally work better at night (12am onwards), because of lack of distractions, no one's on msn (msn is the devil btw when you want to do work), and everyones gone to bed. Then it's just the cat that annoys and distracts me. I don't find it that hard to work under pressure either. At the moment I'm doing a BTEC Diploma, and last academic year I sat back and chilled out, then did half a years work in the final week and got merits and distictions. This years a different matter though, as the work load goes up and up. My general advice is to somehow change your mindset so you feel passionate about the subject/assignment you're tackling.........doing that though is an entirely different matter. Lets just say, if you sit back and chill, then you'll be working in a supermarket or something. In the working world, only the best of the bunch get where they want to be.
  4. For some reason I never picked up on Vin Diesel being in Saving Private Ryan. The reason was probably because I would have never thought his name would ever be on the credits to a decent film (bar Pitch Black).
  5. I laughed when I saw that thread title on the main index. Seriously though, some people have far too much time on their hands.
  6. He's hardly a role model though, and he'll always be associated with that kick on that Crystal Palace supporter (although he deserved it). Still one of the best footballers around in his era though, and one of Man United's best ever. I have respect mostly for artists, who most of you will probably not know of. So my respecta goes out to Ryan Church, Linda Bergvist, Feng Zhu and the man Hideo Kojima.
  7. Are you getting problems with any of these files then?
  8. All three of these are Windows system files, and really shouldn't be touched unless you know what you're doing. If you've got errors coming up with any of them, then the .ddl could possibly be infected. Also, are you running both AVG and Avast at the same time by any chance, as it's generally not a good idea to be running two anti-virus software programs as it usually causes conflicts (especially if Nortons is one of them)?

    E3

It's trade only. And they'll be clamping down on the BS's for sure this year.
  10. There's some very nice christmas trees here I must say. Anyway, here's mine......with added Dad aswell.
  11. http://www.itsnotagame.org/ Suppose we should discuss this anti-knife advert. Do you believe that they've used typical associations with videogames here on purpose, or are they just trying to get the point across?
  12. Happy Birthday Jo!
  13. I've got a SE K750i (or W800), and when it can take photos this then I ain't going to complain about it. I've also got a 1Gb memory card in it aswell, so I hook it up to my car stereo and play the music from it aswell.
  14. He should use the clone tool to copy the lighter brown straggerly hair over the darker bit. Just a suggestion.
  15. I have to agree. It is morally wrong, and nothing anyone should be proud of.........in someways I feel ashamed that I've stooped to such a low level, but this is about you Platty, not me.
  16. You answered it right there in my opinion. I do it everynow and then with my ex, even though she's been going out with her boyfriend for about a year or so now. It don't bother me as she's the one who's got to cough up the answers if there ends up being a problem. Live life to the full Platty, and do the same this coming weekend! haha
  17. I think there's one slice of cake left for ya Falco. I'm alittle behind some of you lot, but it'll be 3 years for me early next year.
  18. Looking sweet I must say. Brilliant texture of red on the Iris, but it's not perfectly rounded inside the eye. If the shot is a close up like you've got there, then it may be a problem, but if the image is further out then the audience wouldn't see the details of it. What course you doing by the way?
  19. Haha, you beat me to it. I was going to post an onslaught tonight.
  20. Stands for new Sofia Coppola film I'm guessing. I think that's the more important thing about this film than having Kirsten Dunst in it, as she's now an acclaimed director. So yeah, a really bad thread title there. Edit - And Pro_Bono, I don't know how you can say that this is the best trailer you've ever seen?
  21. That's all bollocks I'm afraid. Displacement maps are nothing new, and both the 360 and PS3 will be using them along with with normal mapping. The revolutions limited memory will be a problem also, as I don't really expect it to be using any other techniques that aren't already seen on the Cube hardware. I'm shocked at the amount of people that eat up these blogs like they're a crack whore who's been dry for a month.
  22. 1) Zelda: OOT - This game is so great, that it doesn't even warrent a reason for why it's at no.1 anymore 2) Tetris - In some sense, this has the best gameplay ever in a videogame. Anyone can pick up this game and be addicted, whether it's your little sister or your old grandad. 3) Super Mario 64 - Pretty much the first game to feature an interactive living and breathing 3D world. Designed play mechanics as we know today across a variety of genres. 4)Perfect Dark - Took the revolutionary Goldeneye design and upped it to another level. Lost many a long nites and hours to the multiplayer of this game. 5)Zelda: Majora's Mask - Uses the OOT template and provides a whole new concept to story telling. Having people go around their daily chores while you are trying to save their arses is brilliant, and how certain NPC's fates intertwine throughout the three days.
  23. Haha. I would have much rather had a free graphire aswell...........you're lucky to have won that. It's going to be more of an investment really, as I've got to take it to uni and all that if I actually get there. But always, traditional drawing skills are what you need, no tablet can change that.
  24. Like I said in that other Christmas present thread, I was originally going to be getting this. But after my Dad has opted to spend abit more on presents, I'll be getting one of these. I'm also getting it on educational discount, so I can get it for £175 instead of the standard £220 price which helps quite abit really. It makes quite a change for me to get such an expensive gift this Chrimbo, as usually I've always got two computer games. Anyway, I can see Eenuh in the distance looking on in envy at the Intuos.
  25. Makes a change to see Arsenal do so well in Europe.
