Apparently 4 games have been delayed, but they've only told us about Nitro Bike. This game looks pretty poor, but what else are Ubisoft supporting the Wii with this holiday? Last time I checked RRR2 is only one game, and while it looks good, it's still only one game :/.
-
This now has a $29.99 RPP in America. I wasn't thinking of buying this, but if it goes down to say £24.99 in the UK I think I could see it as good value. Especially if that's the RRP and Play offer it at say, £19.99? :P.
-
But this one supports the Wii Remote, somehow :P.

http://www.consolegaming.eu/newspost.php?id=385 Well er, sounds interesting. Probably never amount to anything but could be a good waste of a day.

Sin & Punishment Wii: Treasure would like to try
jammy2211 replied to Strange Cookie's topic in Nintendo Gaming
They're currently developing a Wii game... although I doubt that it's Sin and Punishment. We can hope anyway. -
Well, It's a pretty erratic reason, but it'll do :P.

33% is too ambitious, but put me down :P.

I'm still not sure if this looks good or not. It could be repetitive in the end, arg. I hope they RPG-ify it a bit and give you lots of items and stuff to keep the dungeon crawling fun, otherwise it really won't have much fun except the hopefully epic bosses.

Crash of the Titans announced for Wii
jammy2211 replied to Teppo Holmqvist's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Sounds like this is a game which everyone has forgotten, but for anyone who wants to read a review on it mine is in the link below :P. http://www.consolegaming.eu/review.php?id=258 -
Release Date Nov 23rd Bring it on .

Awesome stage.

GameCube had a larger userbase when MP2 was released (19.2 Million) and both MP1 and MP2 had a TV advertising campaign, as well as being released closer to the Christmas rush with less competition on the market. You can't seriously tell me that the Wii Preview channel is a real form of advertising. It's surely about as effective as IGN or someone posting the video on their media section.
-
If we say this game comes out at Xmas 2008, then no. Wii will obviously have a much larger userbase by then (still smaller then PS2's) but also the PS2 userbase will have started declining in attatch rates. Either way, your example still shows flaws. The Wii version of the last DBZ game sold 300k world wide, which is a pretty significient figure for a port which probably cost them about 5%-10% of the total development costs.
-
Surely your prediction is flawed by the fact MP3 is selling faster then the first two did on GameCube though? :/. WiiPlay is a bit of an unfair comparison, it's sort of been the game people just buy with the console so they have a second WiiMote. I bought it, and I'm no casual gamer, as did my mates, and probably many people on this forum. I'm fairly sure Metroid will become the best selling in the trilogy. I think it has plenty of times where sales will boost accordingly (SMG release, Xmas Rush, SSBB release and when it goes platinum edition.)
-
Not that WiiWare game then? Sounds like a pretty stupid rumour, it could easily happen though.
-
I don't think it sold that badly on GC, I never really found out but I can't see it being a huge flop. As to why would they put it on the Wii? Well I don't think the franchise is big enough to justify the $20 million + dev costs of PS3 / 360, and probably couldn't be done on a handheld's limited hardware. Also Wii's domination of Japan means any RPG can be successful on the Wii, provided it's done right.

Mario Galaxy's Graphics > Halo's. For me, anyway. It's all about artistic style, not technical ability. This game looks beautiful, whereas Halo just looks real, and I prefer the former.
-
Well then I think it's fair to say Silent Hill (or another Survival horror) could easily sell pretty well, seeing as RE4 was a while ago and was still a port of a 2 year old game :/. Fatal Frame 4 should have me covered anyway.

It has those bits which go into side-scrolling action in the trailer, that just made my jaw drop even more. This game is AMAZING. I've really been trying to ignore all media on this game as I don't want to spoil it, but seeing the 3 min trailer to get me a bit more hyped was just incredible. This game feels like it's taken the best bits of every Mario from NES to GameCube, and then built it's own unique ideas based on physics and spherical objects to make some sort of super super mario. I'm just annoyed I might not have time to play this game properly until late December . Unless I make time, hmm.

How do we know that? DDR: Hottest Party has sold moderately, and while I think DDR can be very successful on the Wii in the long term, at the moment it's not got a price point that suits the sort of people who might want the game. That's the worst logic ever, if a type of game is successful on a console are you saying they shouldn't make more in that genre? It shows that Survival-horror games are popular on the Wii and so companies should want to make more. Just like all the GTA clones sold well on PS2, FPS's on the X360 and minigame compilations have a good market on the Wii. If anything it shows Konami should put Silent Hill on the Wii as the market is screaming for it.
-
The 3rd party library is really taking shape now, it is very much all about quantity with the Wii. With the vasts amount of quantity, you get more quality, but of course you get that mixed with a load of crap, which you just don't buy . We do still need more, but every week seems to give us another few games worth following.
-
Crikey, all would be forgiven if Goeman is announced for a sequel on the Wii. Contra 4 looks awesome too, at least they seem to be pretty on the ball with the DS.
-
It flopped even more in Japan, and didn't really get a bad reception, just a mediocre one. I think the bigger problem was the game had no advertising and no coverage. Most Wii owners probably don't even know what the game is, and those who do probably realise there are much better games coming soon. That's what hurts me, cause the art style and gameplay could have so easily been marketed really well, instead Konami just completely ignored that potential. If you look at the successful third party games, they've all had alot more promotion and don't have this 'second tier' type feel to them when they were released.
-
From whatever I've read or heard, apparently sony charge the highest rate for royalties. Saying that, Konami can probably hold sony for ransom with the whole issue regarding MGS4's exclusivity. I'm pretty lost with Konami at the moment, to me it just feels like they're not doing anything at all nowadays, except MGS4.

Should the funds be used to make a new projects? Like Zack and Wiki or Wii love Golf? How about RE:UC, or Monster Hunter 3 :/. I can see what you're saying, but this port has been outsourced anyway. It's not going to take any of Capcom's resources away, and probably will cost next to nothing to make. There have been alot of people praying for this port so in truth it's what alot of people wanted, without any downsides. You do wonder where the funding goes, but I've got alot more respect for Capcom then alot of developers. They've got 8 games announced for the Wii now, and 4 of them are exclusive. PLayStation 3 fans would kill for 1 exclusive Capcom game on their console. But still, I want a 3d Megaman resurrection .
