  1. I haven't read AVP except for the special excerpt you get to "read" on the AVP DVD second disc. I bought the Aliens omnibus vol1. though. It's cool to think of the expanded universe, though the comic setting kinda lacks the appeal of the films.
  2. I'd just prefer if there weren't really obviously flawed logic/rules in organised religion nowadays. At least move with the times. Seriously, things like gay marriage (the main cliched one) not being allowed is a bit silly. No one (unless you are a retarded chav) has reason to segregate anyone anymore, without even knowing them. It's the same as saying "Black people may not get married", "People with curly hair may not get married" etc. Rules rules silly silly rules.
  3. That post wasn't said in a certain tone, which should be evident by the fact I said "Or something like that" afterwards.
  4. I didn't say they had no taste. Though yes, I did say they can't appreciate certain things..how is that bad? That's true. They can't appreciate Alien. They don't have to think it's one of the greatest films of it's genre ever (as I do), but still.
  5. I hope so. It's fast become my favourite on the album. I was dissapointed with the Declare Independance video, it lacks energy. I need to listen to Volta again now.
  6. I can respect religious people, as I myslef would love to be religious. But I "know" it's not true. It's logic that the bible is simply a "fairytale" if you will. As someone said, if Shrek isn't real, how is God? It's a shame it's not real, but yeah. TBH, it's not faith I dislike, it's those that take on rules made by dickheads hundreds of years ago. I like to have faith that there is a force out there that does something, but to me it's much more rooted in nature. But I don't really believe that sadly. Also, the part of me that believe in a spirit knows that it's not benevolent. Since my world revolves around me, no one else is truly real, so I decided that there IS something, but it's testing me, or toying with me. That's not really revelant though.
  7. How could I forget All Is Full Of Love!? I'm such a bad Bjork fan...
  8. I was christian once. Then I realised the painfully obvious truth. *leaves*
  9. I got the first 2, Debut and Post. Debut is one of her weaker efforts, but it was her first, and it's very ninetie's. It's still awesome though, and contains Violently Happy, one of my fave B songs. Post is just amazing. It's Oh So Quiet IS NOT Bjork. It's Oh So Quiet is the worst song on the album. It is a joke song. Homogenic, Vespertine and Medulla are a trilog of masterpieces. Words cannot do them justice. (Pagan poetry is on Vespertine) Volta, her latest is very much a starting from scratch, and it has a loose, un0unified feel, unlike the last 3 masterpieces. It's got some good tracks on it, but it's her worst album. However, it's very much a start of a new era, as Debut was worse than the albums that followed, better albums than Volta will surely follow. I suggets just going in chronological order. Since the first 2 are more mainstream, if you find yourself hating the alternative stuff, you can jump off there.
  10. I've got a record player. But that being said, about 99% of the time I listen to music on my Mac or on my iPod. So i'm glad a Cd is included. ----------- I bought Sia's new album today. Sia - Day Too Soon I also got CD1 and CD2 of It's Oh So Quiet by Bjork for a fiver at Oxfam. Pretty good.
  11. Love that song and video! Placebo are the shiz.
  12. It's Oh So Quiet is probably one of her worst videos. But it's still great. Pagan Poetry is her greatest video, and perhaos THE greatest video I've ever seen. The imagery and simplicity, and the veiled, liquified sex scenes just add together to create art of an amazing quality. The final half is just so intense. Very emotionally raw. It's like a passionate suspense. Not work safe, she's half nude, and the video features self-harm to an extent, and censored sex scenes. I also love Way To Go by RT, but had never seen the vid.
  13. I'm PM'ing you for that in a minute. I kinda like the idea of the deluxe releases, it makes it special. But I'll only get one, and I want Wanderlust of all the singles. I wish she'd done normal singles . One time I want Bjork to be normal!
  14. 9/10 Would be 10 if you got rid of your name. It undermines the suspense of him falling, and is too much a contrast.
  15. 6/10 That's Avril right? Not a fan of her little girl gone bad look. Haggis gets 10/10 for Voodoo child.
  16. Edward Scissorhands -9/10 Loved it. Love the scenery/setting, and the story is great. Only gripe if the development (or lack thereof) of Winona Ryder's character, considering her importance.
  17. Brothers And Sisters. Desperate Housewives used to be good. Now it's occasionally funny, but don't bother watching it realistically. E.R - I love it so much. And the typical Lost etc. Heroes isn't that good at all, but you have to watch it to be cool nowadays.
  18. I need that. I love her baby face. I agree that I prefer female vocals most of the time. They just can convey a wider spectrum of emotions, and one Tori Amos or Bjork is worht a dozen typical male voices. There are of course exceptions. Highest played male singers on last.fm; My Chemical Romance Darren hayes Placebo 30 Seconds To Mars The Killers Patrick Wolf Fightstar White Stripes
  19. It'd be in DisneyWorld Orlando, and at the top of the hill on Splash Mountain, i'd shout it, and then wait for her answer after the drop.
  20. Anyone who finds Alien boring must be missing something vital from their ability to perceive art in motion. Or something like that.
  21. An abomination! You're all going to hell! [/shirely Phelps]
  22. There should be no doubt in anyone's mind that Alien and Aliens pwn anything else from either series.
  23. I wish Tori Amos/Bjork released normal CD singles. By popular demand, Bjork releasing in Ltd editions, but that's hardly the same.
  24. What sexes?
