  1. His performance was fine, he's a great actor, but it was very Nicholson by numbers, rather than actually trying to play The Joker.
  2. Rudest person I know.com just nominated you for an award.
  3. Blue Velvet is very different to Mulholland. As in, it has a "normal"/tangible plot. :p
  4. --- Broken Embraces Pedro Almodovar (<3)'s new film, thought it was brilliant. At first it was a bit disorientating, not sure what to think for 20 mins or so, then suddenly it clicked with me and I was enthralled. LOVE LOVE LOVE how he referenced his own film Women On The Verge Of A Nervous Breakdown, (which is awesome too) as Penelope Cruz's character is always seen to be filming a pastiche/parody of it in this film. Very funny in parts too. And touching. Almodovar can write some great characters, and while his sitiuations seem fanciful and only-seen-in-a-movie, he's always aware of this, and somehow his characters feel more real because of it. Dunno. 8/10
  5. Hmm yeah, thanks, forgot about Zavvi. I'm pretty sure it's out of print or whatever, so it's always expensive if you do find it. (for an online, old DVD)
  6. I never want to see another Narnia film. Prince Caspian was disgusting. Even the Regina Spektor theme song was bad, which is a feat considering how good she is.
  7. I have a complex or something like that concerning age and entitlement. It makes me sick that my aunt is going to buy my 5 year old (but pretty immature for his age) cousin Pokemon Platinum, just cause said he liked watching me play. How could could he ever play it properly?! Ugh. Hate that.
  8. I know what you mean. I'm so bored of Tim Burton. I don't hate him pointlessly like ReZ and co., but Nightmare Before Christmas got old fast, and Corpse Bride was pretty shite. I do like his penchant for letting his wife/lover Helena Bonham Carter into everything he does, since she's great. I'll go see Alice in Wunderland, since I love the book, but I imagine it'll just be a Burtonised update of the cartoon movie.
  9. Did he write the book or something? / Or is it a graphic novel? I'm confused. Was it another case of his name being on the poster for doing nothing, and then they all rushed etc?
  10. FUCK the fangirls.
  11. I'm so angry that nowhere legitimately sells Lost Highway on DVD. It's so necessary to see, to round off my "general Hollywood-setting David Lynch" collection.
  12. TBH, the film-makers were probably grateful from anyone with a name as "household" as that. Since no one else on that poster rings a bell at all.
  13. Mulholland Drive is one of my favourite films. I've read a lot of the interpretations, but tbh, it's not like it's MEANT to be deciphered outwith what is generally grasped after watching it. I know Chair hates anything that can be construed as a waste of time though, so yeah. I love the ambiguity, personally. I love Inland Empire even more I think, as the images and feelings it evokes are much more powerful than in Mulholland Drive. I really like that his films along those lines are more about what you feel and how you can't realy describe those feelings. But that's just me. Jay, a fishtank is a good description sort of, though it kinda robs it of any artistic merit as a term. It's more than just "pretty", imo. Or whatever. I know what I'm trying to say. :p
  14. I think Ladyhawke is way better/more enjoyable than Little Boots tbh. Little Boots was underwhelming after the hype, with it having a couple of good tracks in amongst a lot of forgettable stuff. Symmetry is the best.
  15. Felicia Day was in the first series?
  16. I'd rather come across as that than come across as believing anything in a tabloid as credible/worthwhile.
  17. It has some of the best album art I've ever encountered. Booklet wise, it's on par with Kid A for me. So I'd put it on the wall if I were you. But a coaster works too!
  18. Loved this game! Maybe it's cause I had a useful role, and that there seemed to always be something to investigate during the day. And that I won! (Hardly ever win mafia games) My favourite thing ever: Using my power on Dannyboy, which meant it reflected back onto me, making me survive a few nightkills! Kicking Skarmory in the face before wringing it's neck.
  19. Fuck! No one'll take you up on the offer I don't think, but they should, cause it's probably her most accessible GREATOMG!! album.
  20. Get the FUCK out my thread. *shoves unnecessarily violently*
  21. Vote: SPAMBOT as well.
  22. Hey. I really want Batman: Arkham Asylum, like most people. However, only having a Wii, I won't be able to get a console version, so I'll have to get the PC version. Problem is, I don't have a personal PC. I do have a Mac OS X that has a partition, allowing for me to run a PC mode. I managed to get Tomb Raider: Underworld, which at first didn't work due to graphics limitations (can't change graphics cards in a mac), but then my dad got it working after helping me change the graphics blah blah yeaht oned down. So, first question. Will Batman be more taxing graphically than Tomb Raider? Will I be able to play it at all?! Second. I see a lot of people use Xbox 360 Controllers to play games on their PC. Is there any way in hell that I could find a controller that'll play PC Games on a MAC? The controls in Tomb Raider were fine for the most part, but combat was a bitch. -- Thanks for any help/recommendations.
  23. Tabloids rating something low is just to warn the unwashed masses that a film might be vaguely challenging or intellectual.
  24. If we can vote for multiple people, why aren't we voting for both SPAMBOT and Ganepark? Vote: Ganepark
