Upcoming, he's getting a few temporary new costumes.

I don't believe for a second Dynamo 5 is as good. But I'll start it. I'm not reading 25 issues if I hate it.

I have to say that Catwoman's modern costume is excellent. One of those costumes that feels like they've finally found the definitive costume for the character, after years of knocking about in lesser ones. It's just perfect. Her 90's long-hair one being second, just cause the hair works so well with it. Also: The Eradicator is AWFUL.

You haven't read All-Star Superman, have you? You're awful. Read it. You know I'm not a big Superman fan, but it's brill. And I'm not saying that in Morrison fanboy mode. Messiah CompleX and Final Crisis came through the post today - yay. Also started the Psylocke tpb I bought, but started with the bonus feature of the issues showing how she became asian. So confusing, but I eventually got an answer from CBR forums...turns out the whole deal with Kwannon was a retcon? Never knew that. I think that was probably a better explanation...Claremont just doesn't really explain it here, apart from vague hints that Mojo helped change her. But then Wolverine and Jubilee don't comment on the fact she suddenly has a Japanese face.

In a few months presumably, when the list Happenstance posted comes into full effect. Jock stuns. Of course, he's Scottish. As much as I like Grant Morrison, I've not followed Return of Bruce Wayne properly. Just cause I hate pirates and cowboys and stuff. I might give it a read through once it's done.

I wouldn't start Batman just now. (As I've said before) It's a long haul to get up to speed, and without rereading years worth of issues, it's a bit complicated.

Ew, Spawn's is awful. (from my perspective. It's not aged well.) Yes with Daredevil. Especially by Maleev. I loved in the issue where he turns up at the guy who outed his identity to the press' house, and you see glowing red eyes and the "DD" on his chest crystal clear, and the rest is muted due to the dark. MMM. I also enjoy Cyclops'. Not sure if more than Astonishing. The shoulder ribbing throws me off a bit, even if I quite like it (and obviously it alludes to like..military uniforms). Some others: In the context of the rest of Morrison/Quitely's redesigned X-Men uniforms, this was brilliant, and summed up the characters place perfectly. Also worth note is the variant she wears, a completely inverted version, which just a floating X over her chest and nothing else. Her current one is fine, and suits her position as leader, but I miss this Emma. The cape one worked well only with Whedon doing something decent with the character. And cliched/boring as it may be, I think Spider-Man has one of the best costume. I'm not sure if it's a case of "We've had it for so long..", but it's one of the only costumes that can successfully work in both light-hearted stories, and creepy, dark stories. Of course, those eyes, and way he moves helps a lot with that. But I've never understood the love for the black costume, as it loses so many of the great elements from the normal costume. And the argument that it's darker doesn't really wash with me, as I mentioned above. I also did like Ben Reilly/Spider-Girl's costume. And the fact that when it was given to Spider-Girl, it was one of the few major female superhero costumes not to be adapted to be more feminine, or somehow display sexuality and femininity. That's a major point, if we were talking about things like that. But anyway. Ben Reilly when he was Spidey^ Spider-Girl

That Des'Ree song is hilare. But it's fine, she sung that good song from Romeo + Juliet.

The Invisibles doesn't get into it's stride (i.e what it will become for the rest of the series) for about 4 issues Daft, the start is all about the boy. And I'm glad you weren't completely in love with Hush. It's the most overrated thing ever. --- This is so cool. I want to make the Moonstar.

I've always hated the desire for Abercrombie and Fitch, Jack Wills, [insert other big brand trend of the moment]. Great, you have a plain blue t-shirt advertising where you bought it. That must be worth the expense. Not. I hate it. Similar with most big(ger) fashion brands, but at least they're usually the ones pushing fashion foward. But it's like in that video in the Chromeo thread, where the guy says "Oh I like your Amadeus shirt", and the man wearing it responds " IT'S GUCCI" like that means something other than your money gone from your wallet. It's still a white shirt.

That's a bit silly, finding that lyric of them all in the song annoying. It's a metaphor, obviously. The main hook of "Are we human? Or are we dancer?" is jarring/annoying because it's so odd to hear.

It's meant to be smarmy I think. It's not that bad-looking... I hate that Gordon has been based off thingie who plays him in the films. Gary Oldman. P.S I'm stunned and waiting eagerly for this random Curse of the Mutants tie-in (Blood and Smoke), despite planning on not bothering. But the art is calling me. From the Frank Quitely and Bill Sienkiewicz joint school of stunnnn'.

Most of his other costumes have been fine. I just don't know why for a long time he just kept going back to the original (especially in the 90's). It seemed to be refined in Astonishing, with better shoulders, but the side-bits still were missing. But then John Cassaday makes everything look brilliant and like it was always meant to be. His current one is probably his best, if not particularly iconic. Though I've noticed in behind shots, there's a diamond-shaped chunk missing from just above his ass. Which is bizarre.

Different media but still applies; Jeph Loeb takes over the Ultimate line of Marvel Comics, (sorry the pics are huge)

I like those Finch pictures. If only because it's great work from him in a new style. People bum him, but the sketchy dark lines and the exact same faces for everyone were pissing me off. Though I can't stop looking at Batman's crotch in that top one. Just me? Design-wise, I like it. Quite nice to go back to the yellow oval...and the pants-less one is one that was tried in the 90's too, but looks cooler here.

Completely coincidentally, I found this just now, while cleaning out my room (we're redoing bits of the house): My favourite T-Shirt ever. I met "Storm", "Rogue" and 'Wolverine" right after putting it on and I loved how the actors were like "Oh no! How dare you!"
-
Yeah I gathered that from reading Blackest Night/the current JLA/JSA crossover. Either way, I've always only had passing interest in the character (concept), and really it's only Kyle I'm attached to in any real way. I also preferred how his ring (ASAIK) could only construct thing he knew how to make "work". Or something like that. Like it wasn't ever bubbles or fists, it was usually machines or weaponry. Or manga robots, due to the character being a cartoonist or whatever. It's all very 90's though.

Yes?! What dial/sculpt base? Tell me. She's my favourite character I've never seen in an issue (though I just "asquired" the Venom mini-series she debuts in).
-
The only interest in GL I ever had was through the Justice League. My GL will always be; Kyle Rayner, in that costume. I always loved the tactility of his big mask and his glove/gauntlet things. Even if it is very 90's. I don't see why there was a need for Hal to come back to life. He was an interesting Spectre.
-
Well the series only really concentrated on the Earth Green Lantern, and of course, he was in the Justice League, and had adventures on his own here. IIRC, it's only in the last 10 years or so, that they've tried to make the big cast more prominent. They've always been there though.

He's semi-stunning on the Spider-Man ride in Florida, in which water does literally splash/kinda spray at you, when he leans towards you. I love that ride. The most random inclusion of Scream, of all the symbiotes, and she does nothing.
