One of the most rubbish and untrue sayings ever invented. I can think of lots of situations where punishment is far better than doing nothing so as 'two wrongs don't make a right'.

You're not understanding. This person had no problems lighting up in front of a large queue of people, which is incredibly rude. This person instigated something rude, and received a rude comment in return. You really shouldn't have to ask someone not to blow smoke in your face. It's just basic common decency.

I received thanks from two people. Absolutely no idea where you're coming from with your pro-smoking argument. Seems absolutely bonkers.

The person didn't even think beforehand that people around them might detest smoke, or that they would be blowing smoke into people's faces. It's a mentality that is quite common these days, I find. A person who is selfish enough not to think of others doesn't deserve a kind question. They deserve a behind-the-back quip. Plus, there's always the option for them to say 'no', thus egg on face.

Yes, they should stand 10 feet away from the door. Because it's vile, and I don't want to breathe that shit. I was waiting in a long queue to get my dissertation soft-bound the other day (turned out to be 5 hours long in the end, insane) and someone in the queue (this was while we were still outside the building) started smoking. After about a minute of this person blowing smoke into the crowd and people understandably being unhappy, I said audibly "oh fucking great, some selfish person blowing smoke into people's faces". They soon stopped. And yes, non-smokers do have the right to say this. I will pass judgement on smokers for making a terribly stupid life choice, just like how the majority of us pass judgement on people every day for doing stupid things that endanger themselves or others. I'm sorry, but there is no excuse for being addicted to cigarettes; you're never addicted before you had your first one. Smoking will be banned eventually. Mark my words. (Slight anger in this post was brought to you by person grieving over pet that was put down due to tumour - smoking unrelated ).

I'd like to dedicate this thread to my cat, Sally, who was put down today at 16 years old. She had a tumour in her lung that had caused her not to eat or drink as well as making here extremely weak, and she'd lost a lot of weight. I'd had her since I was 8 years old (I'm 23 now). She will be sorely missed and I had to wipe away the tears as my mother and I said goodbye to her in the vet's surgery room. Truly a heartbreaking moment, I am quite simply beside myself in tears. So here is a loving farewell to one of the friendliest, loveliest cats that will ever live, bless you Sally and rest in peace.

Been having a go of Worms Reloaded, it's good but the computer seems to be pretty much hacked on later missions. Not used all the weapons yet, just trying them out.

Worms 2. The game that introduced so much after Worms 1 and pretty much modernised it (still very playable, unlike worms 1). I remember having loads of great games of that online back in the day.

I just need to clarify this because this seems to be the very cornerstone of what I'm getting at... If you shut down everything that defines consciousness (seeing, hearing, thinking, taste, etc) then what exactly are you saying is left when you say people are 'still conscious'? Being conscious is the combination of all the senses that you said were just shut down.

ShopTo is pretty much one of the best websites to buy games from. They're usually cheaper, often have the exclusive and if you order before 5:30PM it's with you the next day. I've got maybe 10 orders with them and no problems.

Awesome pics. I've played a fair bit of the paid version (survival) but got a bit sidetracked by the free online version. I ended up making a big pyramid with inside oasis, a two story house with glass penthouse roof with connections to a giant dice filled with water (swimming pool) as well as a glass+water lift.

I will say if you play Final Fantasy XIII just play for fun. If you try do all the sidequests and get the platinum like I did you will hate the game, but I remember not hating it while playing through the story.

I'm thinking that even relatively unknown/bad cards might have decent special powers. So not to worry. :p I think I'd have to start by ranking players in terms of 'power' , although there may not always be a '100' card for each stat). I don't really want to be shot by a moderator for assuming someone else is more high up than them! Yes but it's clear that this is only the case in people where their organs or whatever were functioning a very short time ago, not people who have been dead in the ground for a year. Still a bit iffy about that research, but either way; if consciousness was independent of body state then there would be people who died years ago still conscious. But surely you must know that's impossible. Without eyes, you can't see- if you rip out your eyes, you won't be able to see. Therefore people seeing their body from the outside are clearly hallucinating. All in all, if you can't feel, hear, see, think, taste; all senses assigned to regions of the brain, there is nothing left. That is what consciousness is; all those functions active at once. Without a brain, you don't have those functions. Thus there is no such thing as a consciousness without a brain.

It could be that a certain player has an advantage over another, thus certain stats are increased, or the reverse. Typically speaking, you need quite a lot of cards with low, medium and high tiers. Or cards that excel in a certain area (single stat or power).

Yes, ideas not intended to provoke/annoy people. I'll gather some more ideas, then I'll try and think who I'll make the cards of. I might not be able to actually make the cards until next week but hopefully once I have a template down it'll be quite quick to make each one.
