Who's Milagi?
-
Ah I didn't know that came first. Still pretty arbitrary and annoying to scientists. :p
-
Nah Griffy isn't the strongest by the end of the game at max level but he levels remarkably fast and probably for at least the first three quartets of the game he's your go to.
-
Yeah I would say so. He's the strongest familiar by a long shot, massive DPS and great defense.
-
Do you get the Griffy familiar DLC for downloading from PSN? Freaking uber familiar Griffy is.
-
In this. Oh yeahhhh.

Yeah it's amazing it has taken this long for an RPG of such quality to surface on the PS3. People have always been saying what they want for years, like a really good world map, lovely HD visuals and solid gameplay. Finally a game like this was made and the result is gorgeous. Well done Level 5. It's as if putting your game on a PlayStation console seems to be having a positive effect on your games (DQVIII and this). Really happy this came to the PS3 and not the Wii (at the time it was developed the WiiU wasn't about). This console does it justice.

You do realise that 'statistical significance' is an arbitrary 95% confidence interval set a long time ago by a guy working for Guinness? Don't get too hung up about it. For a game like this I don't see any reason why you would demand significance. It appears I am being misunderstood. I'm not saying 'rely only on character analysis!' Obviously, you have to adapt yourself and use what information you have as well as sussing someone's behaviour. To claim that making some decisions based on how a player is behaving (like thinking they're behaving differently so choosing to target them) is a bad idea is the same as saying that you should only play poker based on the cards you have. It's silly. Sure, in both cases people can change the way they behave to fool people. But at the same time the answer isn't to bury your head in the sand and pretend judging people's behaviour against previous performance is a bad idea. You just have to find the right mix.

You know you might be right, the standby time seems pretty good on the Nexus 4 - I'm currently at 60%. I'd expect to be less than that by now on my iPhone 3GS with battery case by this point in the day. Probably at 45% now I'd estimate if this was my 3GS. Although I listen to internet radio both to and from work, so let's see how it fares for the day.

Might be but Jimbob hasn't replied so I think if Peeps is ready, in the interest of sating everyone's Mafia appetite that Peeps goes ahead. :p
-
What phone/tablet do you have? Since moving to a Nexus 4 I no longer have a case with an in-built battery, which gave me much needed extra hours of use. Anyone know a decent battery solution (like a plug in charging dongle that you recharge each night)?
-
Actually did call this to myself as I played the game and that's why I targeted him. Otherwise you're suggesting I targeted him at random, which I know to be untrue. I don't think I have any false positives on this particular point given I haven't seen him play like this before when not Mafia. True, I haven't exactly played a huge number of games, but I think I'd be a bad player if I hadn't picked up on some player trends by now. Interesting on the stats you mention; with a large enough measurable effect size the n number of samples (games) can be quite small. Not that anyone is going to be doing stats anytime soon, just putting it out there that you wouldn't really need many examples to form a significant conclusion. Our lab has managed less than 5 with some measurements.

I would say go for it @The Peeps, no game is running and we're all ready to go.
-
I disagree, I have noticed the same pattern when he was Mafia before. Mostly quiet and aggressive when challenged. Hell, people are habitual, I'm sure I behave differently when Mafia too. People may try to play differently and succeed to a point but there's usually still some tendencies. Unless you are really good there's bound to be some behaviour tell-tales coming out over the course of the game. A lot of it is down to that Mafia know they're guilty. When I'm Mafia it can feel more like 'shit, better not trip up' and ultimately you might be more careful in what you say and disclose, and how you act.
-
Last game you were a protector so you didn't really have any information at all (relative to a tracker), but you were a lot more active. And less aggressive. :p
-
Yeah I agree he came across as quite Mafia, that's why I targeted him. He normally gets quite a lot quieter when Mafia (he doesn't have the most posts on the forum for nothing). And more aggressive I think. Compared to say the last Mafia game his behaviour was quite different I thought.

Unfortunately not, they may get put on the store one day though. The Amazon familiars are selling for over £10 on eBay but that's a lot.
-
I dunno, I think I put enough suspicion on Cube by saying he couldn't be investigated. Which was partially true because his kill couldn't be properly investigated by me relative to say Jay's PM.
-
I've come to learn that the Amazon familiar Griffy is absolutely amazing. So very strong.
-
Yeah I think once Yvonne was NK'd my lynch train was like a town hit list. :p All eggs were in one basket.
-
Thanks DuD, I really liked this. The only thing I would say being lynched entirety by the Mafia so early was quite a blow. It's a shame my PM snoop ability/PM Cube received was a bit nerfed that night where I targeted Cube - I've since found out he was the killer that night but I only learned he 'succeeded'. Might have helped balance their vote advantage. I like how quick the games went - no waiting ages for games to begin etc. Nice mix of roles too. Also luls at EEVIL trying to throw suspicion at Peeps the last day. Surprised no one pointed out two people had received town verdicts on him from Tales.
-
Yeah I'd be up for that. I've a fond spot for it since it was my first Mafia.
-
FYI I got my Nexus 4 today, so less than 2 days since I clicked buy. Decent delivery then, but it did cost £10 after all. :p
-
Sweet game this is. Not really got anywhere yet, just absorbing it all. Love the drippy plush and book, so neat.

Yeah I have a Nexus 7 and really like android now. I don't like Apple at all anymore. They are control freaks and the end result is a lack of consumer choice. Everything is so better integrated and hassle-free on android.
