What difference does it make if it was a combined decision or a single one? Surely the fact that that 3 people agreed to lie shows that more people are actually of the belief that lying can have benefits. Also that decision in the end was wrong as the lynched person was a neutral (brought the endgame closer), whereas my vote was ultimately correct. Also as was pointed out - Cube and his chums didn't know for certain that they were all town! So to say it was a well reasoned, thought out collaborative effort is something you are deducing retrospectively. What I find pretty bullshit about your reasoning is that if Peeps or Cube had added a vote (I know, you didn't, but let's imagine), or if the double vote holders were people that went along with me, then you would probably be congratulating me on daring/good play. The fact is, when you take these risks, just like Cube and co. did, you don't always know what's going to happen. At least I knew that if I failed, Yvonne would probably die shortly afterwards, whereas if I succeeded then the rewards would have been pretty damn nice.

Actually my vote on Yvonne was based on not being able to find him and from the way I generally perceived him the day before. I knew the kill protector was dead and that I was probably the only remaining protector (other than you, but you never came out to say you protected Yvonne as a defence). So all in all it seemed unlikely a townie had made him untargetable. I know it's not concrete, but you voted for Aqui1a for less reason the day before. As for lying and manipulation, Cube lied in the previous game and nobody reprimanded him at the end of the game. He was a cop and lost his power but pretended he was still a cop; for good reason, it made him more powerful. I don't believe town should always tell the truth...it removes a certain strategical element and can sometimes play into the hands of the Mafia. I also don't feel like my information would have convicted Yvonne, whereas at least with the path I took I was fairly sure Yvonne would be lynched after me. I think one townie death for one Mafia death is a fair trade. I completely respect that you didn't want to trust me at the end of the day Peeps. Ironically what made me cast suspicion on Dedede, which had a big impact on the end of the game, was not my lies, but my truths - I protected myself, so I know I couldn't be tracked, yet there he was claiming to track me. I would love @Jimbob to clear that up. :p Ehm...ok, I don't know if you're being arrogant on purpose here - I don't deny that I, along with the rest of town, lost the game. But the way you were phrasing it was like saying "you caused the loss of the game" which I don't agree with. I don't really think speed of lynch has much to do with it, Ganepark was easier to get on board with as he hammered a lynch. Pretty much the argument was that he was a shifty guy who hammered a lynch, the town agreed, and lynched him. :p I don't really see the point about tactics there.

Thanks, I do know this. Rather what I am saying is that other people contributed to bringing the game end point closer in their own way (e.g. the Aqui1a lynch - if we hadn't done that then the game wouldn't have ended on the day it did). The game is endless possibilities, to say it failed on one point here I think is pretty unfair, and pretty short-sighted. Huh? Yvonne wasn't really suspect at all until I started prodding, I don't recall. Lots of people were on board the Aqui1a lynch. Also Yvonne was untargetable, so no one could have said that they investigated him (unless they were lying of course, hurhur). I meant it was decided in terms of a Dedede vs DuD lynch. Both of which I put forward as Mafia, take not. Anyway, why is it my fault I failed to convince Peeps? Maybe he failed to use his gut instinct? Note - I am not saying this Peeps, but what I am saying is that it's not as a clear cut as you are implying Rummy. It's also a bit of a bummer than Cube was following Peeps as that was a huge vote potential that could have gone entirely differently if it was say you with the double vote, Rummy. It just happened that the townie most suspicious of others in the game (suspicion being good for the most part, except maybe here) held the power of like 4 votes. That's just the game. Thanking posts last game had nothing to do with the loss...anyone who didn't know it was a lynch train the minute it happened (ie. before posts were thanked) was frankly thick as shit. Also all voters on the train were thanked, not just Mafia members, so really whoever the vigilante was wasn't aided anymore by the thanking of posts than if the posts were unthanked. You say I lost the game...I say I didn't. It's your opinion at the end of the day, I just don't agree with it. I'm not blowing my own trumpet but someone else here did suggest I was the town MVP, someone I feel has more of an eye for strategy and tactics than you.

Oh, fair enough. Still, I stopped it.
-
I don't agree with that. Simply put, the Mafia won because they attained majority. In terms of getting to that majority point, I'd say I did my fair share in putting this off - I didn't take part in the first town lynch of Aqui1a, I stopped a kill, and it's probably fair to say that my efforts eventually resulted in Yvonne's lynch, getting everyone talking, and making DuD appear pretty hostile. In the end I drafted up a Mafia list that contained two out of the three Mafia (Dedede, Yvonne and DuD). My pitfall was not convincing Peeps, sure, but I don't think it's fair to say that I was unforgivably untrustworthy given you yourself trusted me as did other members of town. We were one vote away at one point. If I had reported that I failed to reach Yvonne I would have offered literally nothing other than another seemingly untargetable person, and the fact I failed to reach someone would have made me a suspect as there was no kill that night. Also I think the Mafia targeted me for death because I gave off a vibe that I was somehow powerful the night before, which was again part of the lies that you say were bad. This game was literally decided at the last minute (DuD vs Dedede), and I wasn't even there, so I don't think it's fair to blame me. I put both Dedede and DuD forward as Mafia candidates so it's not like I had tunnelled town down one wrong path - it was a toss up. In the end I personally trusted Dedede the least for a few reasons - he directly contradicted my info saying that he tracked me when I knew I couldn't be tracked (still waiting for a clear up from Jimbob on why that was), he was a tracker like me (I was town), and he had offered relatively little useful info to the town. And after Yvonne was confirmed Mafia, it seemed even more likely that he would also be due to their matching info.
-
Yeah I meant for the interest of the other players
-
Who did the Mafia try kill when they were stopped? I really enjoyed this game, probably the most fun game for me so far. Also I never reached Yvonne and was sent to Dedede, who wasn't there. :p But I still don't see how Dedede can say he targeted me successfully, I'm intrigued.
-
How often do you find other guys standing in your cubicle? If I'm being honest, I tend to pee alone.
-
He he he. Well played DuD. So @Jimbob, what was the deal with Dedede saying he tracked me the night I protected myself from tracking? Just curious.
-
Well, at least we're all agreed that lunch is eaten at the middle of the day. :p
-
I have never heard anyone call lunch dinner before seeing this topic. Dinner has always just been a fancy way of saying tea for me.
-
Breakfast, lunch and tea. I'm a northerner.

Best bet for a few save files just backup to a USB pen/drive and later transfer to the drive you want when it's inserted. This won't work for copy-protected saves (most saves aren't copy protected).
-
Probably, and I remember it having a picture to denote which ending you got. Like an axe icon to denote the axe ending.
-
Oh, yeah, what he said. Couldn't remember which ending you needed to unlock the ability to get the true ending.
-
He built pretty much the same PC as us if you remember. :p
-
To get the true ending I think first you have to get the coffin ending. If you've got that then you can go straight for the true ending. But it's definitely worth it. 999 has a better ending than VLR but that's because VLR is to be continued. It would completely spoil the story of 999 if you went straight to VLR without getting the true ending first, plus you'd be missing out on the best bits of 999. VLR improves on most of 999 though, even making it so you can instantly skip pretty much any repeated segment. Although there are far more 'endings' in VLR.

There's already a topic for this and replaying the game is integral to the nature of the game. When you replay it you aren't just going over old ground, you're being fed new information and observing different events each time. And it's not just the end that differs; it's a lot of the play through. The true ending is epic and mind-blowing, and you are made to realise why you had to keep replaying the game.

Regarding this being an 'ultimate' version; is this the same as MH3 with additional quests? I had MH3 on the Wii but couldn't really get into it (the idea of it being on handheld makes it more appealing though).
-
I'm just wondering, Zechs; how were you able to keep a straight face while asking that question to somebody else? PSP pre-dated a universal online account (a la PSN). As the 3DS is apparently next/current generation, my comments are a criticism that Nintendo is behind in this sense. Also you may want to do your homework as a number of games on the PS3 have had private hosted servers.
-
No, no. People are misunderstanding what I'm saying. I'm not saying it's not a good thing that they aren't hosting free servers/doing their bit. Obviously they are trying. I'm saying that if Nintendo opted for an integrated universal online account (as Sony have now done with the Vita and PS3) there would be no requirement for developers to do their part and occasionally deliver less-than-stellar online modes. Online would just be a standard, non-gimped service across all games on the unit.
-
While it's true the past portable games have never had a real focus online, online has still been possible without extra hardware. I would have though by now that online was credited enough to be properly implemented in every game.
-
Nintendo consoles have never championed online, so it's not hard to see that the lack of online focus in the game it's meant to be ported over from is having a knock on effect here. Really the point here is that rather than blaming the developer, I would blame Nintendo for leaving it up to the developer and not having an integrated online infrastructure. Anyway, not a huge deal I guess if you can still play online, just weird/annoying for such a big title. Oh and @dazzybee; I couldn't care less what you have to say, and can honestly say I probably never will.
-
The point is that there's no reason why the 3DS version couldn't have the same features as the WiiU version aside from lacklustre online focus/integration with the 3DS.
-
Can I ask the obvious...why the fuck does the 3DS not have proper online play to begin with? Nintendo are still in the dark ages when it comes to online.
