  1. I've said it before; if people can't bear negative discussion then they should put people on their ignore list. Discussion is discussion, and if people want to vent their frustrations then let them. Asking people not to post negative stuff is, ironically, a waste of time in itself. It has been done before and it won't work. So if I load up Skype and Smash runs as smoothly online as it does normally without Skype running, will you admit you're wrong?
  2. Hey man are you also good for 1:30PM Sunday for hard raid?
  3. I find using forums on a phone browser to be pretty awkward (Nexus 4 here). Clicking small links like the arrow icon to go to the last post often brings up a magnified balloon since it's never sure if you wanted to click it on account of your thumb being quite large relative to the button. Noticed that prob with clicking quite a lot of things, actually. It's just generally so much easier to click the massive boxes in Tapatalk. Plus, timeline kicks ass.
  4. Fuuuuck. I can't be sure, but did the penny just drop with you? Did you just make a distinction between technical prowess and how appearances might also contribute to a 'style'? I am proud. To relate this to the original point: FPS can be an artistic choice. Well, maybe artistic isn't the right word, but at least a 'presentation' choice. The choice between 30 FPS for that weighty, cinematic feel compared to 60 FPS, which may not offer such huge gameplay advantages for that type of game to be the go to choice. But how can the game developers read your mind to know what these supposed standards are? Curious.
  5. I never actually said that as a blanket statement; rather that 30 FPS can suit some games better than 60 FPS, especially those gunning for a more cinematic feel. And I wasn't alone in making this statement in the topic, let's not forget. You view the world so hilariously black and white, in the belief that technical prowess always trumps anything else. Let me guess, do you also think Minecraft should be made with realistic graphics? Because fuck the style, amirite?
  6. Serebii: It won't work; it's counter to mathematical logic (which I obviously understand, hurhur). Sheikah: What mathemtical logic? Proof plx? Serebii: I can't deal with this!! You guys are ignoring mathematical logic!!1
  7. Sorry, my point was that there were no good Smash Brawl online games; it was broken by a delay regardless of your connection. Voice chat wasn't going to make it worse. However, by virtue of All Stars actually having games run smoothly with voice chat on, it is proof of concept that it can work. You don't need to prove that it works 100% of time; the fact it can work shows that there is potential for it as an optional feature for people with good enough connections. Generally with evidence you assume that something has no relation to something else unless someone can prove a connection. Serebii has claimed that voice chat would not be feasible as that would break the camel's back for online play. He needs to prove it; it's that simple. Sorry, can't believe I missed this. Of course you fucking should! Not for any reasons pertaining to what is being said, but purely because they are words concerning online play, and coming from Nintendo.
  8. Even worse for me, as Tapatalk doesn't work with spoiler tags. :p
  9. SSBB was dreadful online; it had nothing to do with voice chat. Someone present me with empirical evidence that the additional bandwidth used by voice chat would be sufficient to make a lagless game contain lag. Obviously we're talking about people with at least a stable broadband connection, since if they didn't have one then they'd be a liability to the game regardless. Until such proof is presented, nobody here has any reason to take his words as truth. With an optional function, 'some' is all you'd ever need.
  10. Honestly, what? A simple piece of mathematics - how can it be, when no two connections are the same? If it's piece of evidence that would prove your point, then why have you yet to produce it? If it was simple you might argue (if, for the purpose of lulz, bandwidth was measured in potatoes): Smash needs 10 potatoes to run well [and here is a source!] On a regular connection, people have about 12 potatoes of connection [and here is a source!] Voice chat, unfortunately, uses 3 potatoes! [and here is a source!] Even if this ridiculous scenario had even a remote possibility of being true, lots of people have good connections to make use of it. Also: Jesus. Fuck me @ the levels of irony here.
  11. Can you please post some sources to verify that the exact bandwidth required for voice chat would prevent smooth gameplay in these upcoming games (if, we're assuming, the games run smoothly in the first place, which wasn't the case for Smash on Wii). I'm especially doubtful of this given that it's an optional feature anyway, and people with fibre could choose to make use of it (but not anyone else, if what you say was actually true). Unless you can specifically prove what you're saying for these upcoming games you can hardly blame people for adopting the de facto stance of assuming that what you're saying is most likely bull. It's pretty tragic that he has to come up with technical excuses for every reason why Nintendo doesn't do anything. I do wonder; why does he bother? By continuously doing it, I honestly don't think anyone here can take him seriously. How can anyone possibly believe him? He sounds like a salesman who will say anything to make a sale.
  12. Fuck, why the gloss?
  13. To be honest, stamps or small images of trophies - they're both pretty darn pointless to look at purely at face value. I don't have an inner 9 year old girl with a glitter kit wanting to apply these things liberally to my posts. But it is enjoyable, for me, to compare whether your friends managed to earn difficult achievements, or what games they've really put time into. I'd take substance, which in this case is information, over the style if stamps.
  14. Again, let's try and remove the robot visor while we interpret what those people might actually be saying, regardless of what the literal meaning of their post might be. When people claim that the Wii U needs an account system, do you genuinely, hand on heart believe that those people think there is no account whatsoever on the system? Do you think those people believe Wii U owners enter the Nintendo Store and buy games without having logged into any sort of account? That you can play online on Nintendo consoles with no account at all? That online gaming can even take place without any sort of account, no matter how primitive? Or do you think they are using hyperbole to stress how little they think of Nintendo's account system?
  15. The reason you take issue is because you treat language too literally, like a robot. I don't know whether this is because you genuinely have social comprehension issues, or that you do it because it's very easy to win the most minor arguments if you take everything at face value. It wasn't so long ago that you also claimed that I should write 'in my opinion' before things that I was saying that were obviously opinion to begin with. Case in point, here you identify that the stamp is a reward, or achievement, thus take this to mean an achievement system is in place. Not everyone considers this thing to be an achievement system. A lot would argue that the achievement system is the kind of thing that many other platforms have adopted already. When people are saying that they need a proper account system, they have been criticising how poor they were since downloads aren't retrievable under many circumstances (ie. not properly linked to your account, or not downloadable on a friend's machine if you're round at his house). I know you've got annoyed when people have said they don't have 'proper' accounts, but who are you to dismiss the criteria by which people judge the accounts to be proper?
  16. So is this another tickbox for you, then? Nintendo: achievement system obtained (ticks box). Along with 'has an account system' because there are accounts (despite them being darn awful). Well it's not a very good one, if you don't know how people achieved their stamps!
  17. But what's the meaning behind that? You don't see a stamp you haven't seen before and instantly know what they achieved. Kind of random if you happen to spot it on Miiverse too, no? Not really an achievement system.
  18. But you can't look at each others' stamps?
  19. Cool. @lostmario were you also thinking I meant today or Friday to do the nightfall? I was originally proposing doing the Nightfall tomorrow since I generally have more free time/can stay up later Fridays.
  20. Yeah, that gives a bit of leeway in case lost has just got in. I'm available for that.
  21. Nah Daft proposed 10:30AM some posts back for the hard raid this week. If you can't make it earlier then can everyone do it at 1:30PM this Sunday (hard mode raid)? @Daft @Shorty @Dan_Dare @Blade Sweet. So me, you and @Shorty for Nightfall tomorrow at 8:30PM it is.
  22. Yeah, will do. Friday night 8:30PM, Nightfall and maybe the weekly heroic on hardest difficulty. Any L28/29 takers for last slot?
  23. Yeah I would like to double check these guys can make it for Sunday morning.
  24. Wasn't an issue with date of order, more like when they start sending them out.
  25. Any L29 (or pr0 L28) want to do Nightfall this Friday evening with me? 8:30PM onwards? @Shorty @Daft @Dan_Dare @lostmario. Also applies to the max level weekly heroic which I haven't done yet (we could do that after). I recommend any hunters come as bladedancers for reviving prowess, and bring an arc sniper and heavy. Thralls apparently one hit kill you with a melee swipe so best to murder them first, I heard.
