  1. New games are currently still being made to run on last gen machines, since many are multiformat. You're not going to see too many AC Unity style 'bucket loads of NPCs on screen' and whatnot until they stop making games that can be easily ported across the generations. Aside from graphical touch ups, these games aren't going to look as good as they could.
  2. I would argue that with Pikmin 3, NSM3DW, NSMBU, Mario Kart, Smash, etc... that a lot of this is due to Nintendo's reliance on bread and butter franchises rather than innovating as much as they used to; on the scale that they used to (ie. not just indie/small scale games).
  3. Another cool thing about the Bladedancer - if your vision goes completely dark in the raid, going invisible lets you see. Such a ridiculous perk but has saved me once or twice. :p Crouch invisibility is good for when you're not already in a scrape or are in cover, while melee-invisibility is great if you're already in the shit. If you're in trouble and not near an enemy to melee, activating your super both gives you a shield then lets you go invisible whenever you want by pressing R2 (so long as you set this as your super ability, which I do). It's quite easy to chain up invisibility with these three options, as well as having Shadowjack to extend the duration of invisibility. Switching to bladedancer dramatically changed the way I played; I love gunslinger too but not having invisibility feels like my arm has been cut off. Dat safety blanket!
  4. Amen. Until Nintendo start to follow this they will continue to play second fiddle to the other consoles. It's a shame that they're a shadow of their former selves.
  5. Really? I find that being able to go invisible makes it really easy to survive, most of the time. Getting mobbed is as simple as smacking an enemy in the face to instantly go invisible and get the mobs to leave you alone. Certainly when I've be doing Nightfall, the ability to go invisible then revive all my teammates without enemies noticing a thing is incredibly useful and has gotten us out of a bunch of scrapes. Not quite as good as a self revive, but it's good for reviving others. :p The only boon for me for a second hunter would be to get the boots (all my weapons armour/is maxed EXP). I just know that in doing this I'd end up getting plenty of boots afterwards, leading me to question why the hell I wasted a weekend on it.
  6. It takes up a slot that could be used for another character of a different class though and it still takes bleeding ages. I think I've played a warlock for at least 9-10 hours and they're still only L12 or L13 (made worse since a lot of bounties required doing levels that I couldn't really attempt yet, story/level-wise). All that for a slightly boosted chance of finding one piece of raid armour (that we'll probably get eventually on account of doing the raid every week regardless) seems completely not worth it to me.
  7. Bit of a pisstake, really. The only solution to boost your chances is to create clone characters of the same class, which is a real time sink and I won't be doing it.
  8. Looks like the kind of game with nothing new going on for it. The sort of title to just shift some copies to people who haven't hopped to next gen yet. Basically, just play AC4.
  9. Hey ReZ, I saw you were doing the raid last night. Are you up for doing it on Thursday at 8PM too? Rewards for doing it reset tomorrow and all. If you can let me know then I can see how many additional players I need to get.
  10. Cool, shall we say approximately 8PM?
  11. It's gonna be Thurs as the first team is full. You'll be with me! Hopefully Zell can tag along too as well as Daft's alt. I can grab another couple of players on Destiny LFG on the day if nobody else joins us.
  12. I'll switch to a new Thursday raid so Drift can play on Wed. Who's with me Thursday? ;-) @Zell?
  13. Not played the game yet unfortunately. :p Still need to play Bayonetta 1 first, too.
  14. I'm in for the raid!
  15. Can't believe you got all three raid pieces you needed in one run @Eddage. Sickening, almost. :p
  16. I wasn't talking about hitting the owl as that was generally a pain in the arse enough, having to leave the dungeon. It's not a big deal, just a small note that I do somewhat agree with Rummy that it takes away some of the "ZOMG" time-limited factor in that you can standby it with such ease. Further to that, the way other people play does bother me somewhat, even if I'm not doing it. Funny how that is, really. Like Fire Emblem. You can bet your ass I carried on playing it in classic "you die you stay dead" mode, but the fact they added easy mode in was still ever so slightly not cool.
  17. The thing about pausing on consoles though was that it never really felt like a long-term solution. You couldn't really leave it overnight in my house, if it was hooked up to your main TV. When I was younger you could bet your ass it would be turned off. A lot of people don't like leaving their consoles on overnight/for long periods of time due to overheating. And if I remember rightly, N64 was pretty prone to freezing. Then you'd lose all progress since the last song of time... Standby mode, handheld plugged into mains (let's face it, most of the time we play our handhelds at home)...can pretty much be left as long as you like. Standby almost feels like it's off, and even if it wasn't plugged in it can last for days. More a technological issue than anything else, this.
  18. Did you guys have any luck with hard raid? Saw you guys playing it while me, Zell and a randomer on my list were doing nightfall/weekly heroic. Took my Vita home with me this weekend, hopefully I can remote play to buy some stuff from Xur. No idea how well it'll hold out to play over the internet, though. My upload speed at home is wack.
  19. I hope the game clock carries on running in standby. Is the special edition only available from the Nintendo store? I'd much rather order it from somewhere like Tesco if they had it.
  20. Yeah, he's essentially a spin doctor, one with his strings very much being pulled. Saying sales doubled is factual, albeit incredibly douchey and worthy of derision. Also many devs do care about console power because it lets them make games more impressive than the last generation. This applies more to western studios though, as we've seen that many Japanese gamers aren't exactly head over heels with new consoles. For the west, gamers very much wanted an upgrade to their old last gen systems since they had been in the 360/PS3 generation so long. That's evidenced by the PS3 game sales figures dropping while the PS4 continuously reaches #1. So also, devs want to be on the more powerful consoles because the more powerful consoles are where most people want to be.
  21. I'd probably be able to get on around 7:35 ish earliest. Not sure, maybe that's enough time? Second thoughts, looking more like 9PM I'll be available now. Anyone about then for nightfall then? @Zell?
  22. I wouldn't be available until probably at least 7:45 unfortunately.
  23. HNNGGJesus has heard our prayers. HNGRALUJAH! Either that or its spooky dark magic/terrible (awesome) fate coming from my new mask. Them eyes. Them fucking eyes. (Totally agree this would be far cooler to be Wii U, but skull kids/begbrahs cannot be choosers).
  24. @Zell @Shorty I am being stupid. Totally forgot I am going back to my family's house tomorrow for the weekend, sorry. I might take my Vita to do remote play to log on for Xur though. I'll be available tonight...said I'd be up for hard raid but not sure whether I'd rather attempt that or do nightfall. I know nightfall can be soloed but it'd be quicker to team up.
