I knew when I was in a dungeon, but there's not denying the overworld held similar dungeon type puzzles/challenges etc. My friend didn't seem to know when he was in one, which I thought WAS pretty retarded as it's fairly obvious, but meh. I wouldn't say it was more obvious than in TP though, I don't remember at any point in that being in doubt(I did at times early on in SS, wonder if the overworld was going to be its own dungeon). You say that them adding lots to do doesn't make it a dungeon, then what does? Just having a clear entry/exit/boss? Still, I don't claim it to be seamless, I do consider it to be fairly clear, my point is that there was a similarity in the nature beteween the two.

They'd probably never break that world barrier, a bit too...modern? Self referential? I dunno, but I can't see it happening in Zelda cannon. As for the dungeons, yes they're distinct, but they almost made the overworld itself into dungeons(which Edge also said), you do almost as much outside of a dungeon as in! What would be your idea for a different take on them, though? I must say I rather liked how TP's ice/mountain/whateveritwasdungeonwiththeballandchain happened to be the yeti man's house, and not just another generic cavestyledungeon.

They were full of life, that's why. They had story, crafted a whole world, and tended to have a slightly dark/eerie unexplained element to them. LA and MM especially. They had character. Xenoblade is good whilst vast because of its game style, huge and beautiful fields are broken up by battles AND sidequests. Whilst I'd draw a direct comparison of XB's size, Zelda wouldn't work in the same environment with the current mechanic. Ah, well, I guess we think alike! See above! The old games did have things like that thrown in(Error, weird mystics, mushroom/weird witch ladies, and I'm pretty sure the basis for Batreaux; the bat in the cave in LttP). Hello there, you might like a game I've played, it's called Skyward Sword(though maybe it's fairer to say this was a different take on the overworld...almost into dungeons!) Very much so. In fact, it's interesting that MM is such a success/good game, considering it had far below average number of dungeons for a Zelda game. It had a world though, a beautifully crafted world again full of character. People to meet, things to do, sidequests to undertake, and it gave you the feeling of that world by having most of these things are optional. It filled out maingame stuff with the sidequesty bits(rescruing deku princess, finding the sleepy goron, egg quest etcetc), but the amount of stuff that WASN'T main quest is probably twice as much as it. Definitely agree, not just for Zelda but for all games. It comes back into my previous point about giving the player options. It's hard to fall into a game or feel a real part of a world when it's constantly telling you what to do and holding your hand. The real world doesn't work like that, so why do devs now insist on doing it with video games? I've had a bee in my bonnet about this with Mario since SM64, every wii mario since then has taken you on a very planned and specific linear path(excepting new super mario bros ds/wii/sm3dsl, they're not QUITE as bad, but still slight offenders) and the player has no option or oppurtunity to discover secret things too much, or explore the crafted world. For all the raving about the Galaxies, I miss the little secrets you could get in on in all the old games.

What's there to say? I don't normally get a PM, and I don't want to out my power as of yet either. There's certainly a lot of redirectors around though, and it doesn't exactly help make things clear. tentententen

Ahhh I see, thanks. I keep forgetting to check the site and then I remember at work, where I can't -.- I'd assumed they'd just email my club nintendo account with it automatically! Nevermind, I shall do it tonight, thank ye all!

Not sure if anyone's suggested it yet, but you should probably consider Pushmo? (It's called PullBlox in EU territories) FreakyForms and Pushmo are both great downloadables, and imo well worth the £6 a piece. What sort of stuff do you like? On a completely unrelated note, does anyone find issues with their DS connecting to Wireless sometimes? I think it's more my router than anything else. Also how often do you guys tend to get StreetPass hits? I don't find them often at all. LASTLY, does anyone have a thing where if they leave their 3DS on for a long time(with wireless too) and keep it going by keeping it charged, that sometimes when it's opened it's almost frozen like? I open mine sometimes and the screens don't come on/are black(wireless switch doesn't respond either, so it isn't just the screens being rubbish), and I have to hold the power button for aaaaaaages to turn it off. It turns on and works fine again after that though.

Triple teamed. DO EEET. As far as Zelda goes, and possibly Mario too, I feel the serieses/franchises are possibly coming to the point where they need to be laid to rest. SS is/was pretty good, and I'm still getting through it, but it lives in the shadow of its own name which highly impinges on how people decide to view and recieve it. I have, since its release, been torn inside as to whether or not Xenoblade is superior to it, and I think at the end of the day what keeps saying that it is, is a voice saying 'but...it's zelda!'. How would Xenoblade have fared under an FF guise? Probably not as well. How would it have fared under a much wider and more publicised release? Probably even better! I'm interested to see the reception it gets when it hits the US, and just wish it had done so before SS so they might have been compared a bit better. Coming back to the point of Zelda, I just think it's all already been done before. What can Zelda do that Zelda hasn't done? Well, probably lots. What can Zelda do that Zelda hasn't done whilst remaining very Zelda? Probably not very much. Any new game that comes from the series will be compared too all of the old, and because of this I think its games will always get a harsher response that they would standing alone, possibly even worse each time a new one comes under the Zelda name.

So Dannyboy did, or did not, get swapped around with someone last night? Where did jayseven come into it?
-
I registered SM3DSL and MK7 already, but have no code? Is it emailed? In the account? Maybe they don't like me cos I filled their surveys in silly...
-
Do you have to request the kid icarus code somewhere or do they just automatically email it to you? I still don't have anything...
-
Awesome sig! Who are the people three in on each side? Is one of them that wesker guy?

Vote:Remove vote, just so we don't end too early if there's still stuff to discuss.
-
Lol jay. Ok. Well, the only other lead is what, Jonnas? To be frank I'm too confused to vote for him but he seems to tie in with the writeup. Happy to show I don't have any double votes for now though, Vote:No lynch.

Im still quite confused, at the moment mostly by jay's previous posts, then his change in tone, yet I don't actually understand what changed after his post about 'I THINK THERE MAY BE A PLAYER HERE WHO IS ABLE TO MAKE OTHER PEOPLE POST SPECIFIC THINGS.' or rather how. I understand if it was an misinterpretation on his part, but I didn't quite see how he came to the wrong conclusion? My post doesn't quite make my point. My point is, jay said I THINK THERE MAY BE A PLAYER HERE WHO IS ABLE TO MAKE OTHER PEOPLE POST SPECIFIC THINGS, but then said there isn't, but has explained why there either isn't, or why he thought it in the first place. Which makes me wonder as to whether or not, there really still is!

Hahaha, all this secret swapping seems to fit with this cloak and dagger theme. I'm still quite confused on the ReZ thing, but does this mean ReZ's supposed epic one use power did, or did not, get used on somebody? Either by or not by him?

On the subject of that, this video pops up on facebooks from time to time. Whilst not actually an inspirational speech in itself, it's takes from I think Rocky, Coach Carter, and Muhammad Ali. Actually whilst I'm being slightly off kilter, I'm going to post The Sunscreen Song. Apparently written originally by a journalist with the intention of being some sort of speech for graduation, I think it should be allowed to fit the theme? Unforunately it's only available videowise from what I can find in Luhrmann's song form, but meh. Original writing, I think - http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/columnists/chi-schmich-sunscreen-column,0,4054576.column

Man, that guy is so awesome. He should probably have his own theme tune or something!
-
Wow, quite an achievement imo! Happy birthday to N-E!

Bloody well done Flamey! Excellent news to hear, you must be over the moon!

As long as this doesn't get cancelled! I think cartoons these days tend to get lesser viewing figures with online/catchup/slightly illegitimate ways, then they get cancelled! Wolverine and the X-Men was an awesome new cartoon, but it died after like what...a series or two? Hope that doesn't happen with this too
-
Looks pretty bloody awesome! Fantastic news, too!

I think Eevil did a fantastic job with the theme/roles, something felt exceedingly british about it all!
