  1. I managed to sell my turnips at a profit in the end, but probably not a lot. I'm not being funny, but this part of the game feels like actual stress I can do without. Don't think I'll be going in to buy turnips every week.
  2. I'm struggling to find anyone with a decent turnip price today. Mine have been terrible every time I checked. Can anyone help me out this afternoon?
  3. Thanks...That's really good to know. I also very reluctantly traded in Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition. If I could pick that up again at some point to play the final 50 hours or so, from where I left off, that would be nice.
  4. Geeky Switch question I hope someone here can answer. I traded in my copy of Super Mario Maker 2 in January when I was skint. HOWEVER, the major new update has got me wanting to jump back in again. Big time. Does anyone know if my Switch/Micro SD card would somehow have kept all my save data even if a different copy of the game is being used (or even a digital copy)? I'm guessing the answer is probably no, but it's worth asking.
  5. Both games are heavily discounted on the eShop in the Spring sale. Looking forward to starting Stick of Truth in the next couple of days
  6. I treated myself to the gorgeous purple and orange joy-con combo, which arrived today. The main reason for doing this is that I was experiencing pretty awful joy-con drift and so handheld play was still possible but a real chore. I know we're under lockdown etc., but does anyone know if there's much chance Nintendo will replace my original joy-con once this is all over? It won't be under warranty as I got my Switch on launch day. Just wondered if anyone else had experience of this with Nintendo recently.
  7. Tennis Aces, Maker 2 and ARMS had all been announced by this time in their respective years, which makes me think a port for June seems quite possible. If I remember correctly, Mario U Deluxe was announced without a lot of fanfare, only a couple of months ahead of the release.
  8. Those two remakes would be good for the summer. I can't see Pikmin 3 Deluxe being particularly big, but it's good enough to deserve a Switch release.
  9. Someone on one of the Nintendo podcasts I listen to said that Nintendo always seems to have a fairly big game scheduled for a June release. 2017 - ARMS 2018 - Mario Tennis Aces 2019 - Super Mario Maker 2 2020 - ? I could see a release of Super Mario 3D World Deluxe fitting quite nicely there. Might depend on whether or not there's a Super Mario Odyssey 2 or similar scheduled for later in the year though.
  10. Second week in a row that I've missed the turnips, so now I'll have to endure a whole week of everyone else talking about them
  11. I gave myself a taste of the demo as my first Bravely experience. Everything about the town was superb. I just loved the art style there and all of the music. Agree with everyone who said the characters look cheap. If there's a feedback form online then I'd put that in as my number one concern. They seriously look like they were pulled straight from the 3DS and it's not a good look. The battles were also very tough, but I just about got the hang of the Bravely/Default combat system which is the main thing. I would really have preferred a demo more akin to Octopath Traveler or Dragon Quest XI, but it's clear the game isn't finished like those games were. This game actually feels like a mixture of those two, which is great for me as I loved a lot about them. I instantly recognised the voice actors who played Rab and Gemma in DQXI . Hopefully the real version of the game doesn't start off so difficult. I can see it launching in September or October perhaps.
  12. Today could/should be when we get a Nintendo Direct announcement, right? Either today or tomorrow, if that leaker is to be believed anyway.
  13. Couldn't find a topic on the Trials of Mana remake so thought I would create one. It's due out relatively soon, on April 24th. Taken from Amazon.co.uk: "Revamped 3D graphics -Trials of mana is full 3D remake of the third game in the mana series, originally released in Japan as Seiken densetsu 3. The entire game has been fully rebuilt from the ground up with modern 3D graphics pick your party - Players can choose their favorite protagonist and two companions from six different characters. The story will play out in different ways depending on the combination of the protagonist and companions in the party class changing- raise your level and become the top-level classes. The character's appearance and the magic and special attacks that they can learn will change depending on which class is selected and the light/ dark alignment. rabite adornment (DLC) an in-game accessory to be worn that allows the player to gain more exp after a battle up to level 10. Rabite adornment DLC available until 21st may 2020 as a Pre-order and early purchase bonus" There's a free demo available on the Nintendo eShop. Anyone tried it yet?
  14. It is strangely early, though Astral Chain reviews also came out on the Monday.
  15. I should finally be getting this in a couple of days and I'll have a good chunk of time to actually play it as well. Any tips for a newbie (not new to Pokémon)? Stuff you wish you had known before starting? I'm not a hardcore fan though. I tend to stop playing after beating the elite four etc.
  16. 4 it is then. Thanks!
  17. Apologies if there is already a thread on Jackbox, but I couldn’t find one specifically for it. I’m a big fan of Jackbox Party Pack 2 and 3 on Switch, but I’ve played them both to death. I’m looking to buy one pack out of 4, 5 and 6 to play with my family at Christmas. Does anyone have any recommendations as to which one I should choose?
  18. I don’t think anyone predicted Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice to win GOTY. I never even saw anyone say they were voting for it. I wasn’t able to stay up for it this year, but it doesn’t look like I missed much. Bravely II or whatever it’s called is quite exciting, but I hope it’s not released close to Trials of Mana. These Square Enix games are massive drains on my gaming time.
  19. That's a nice surprise! I've been wanting an excuse to get back into SMM2.
  20. Santa is bringing me this for Christmas. Someone on Twitter posted a photo of the Switch version and it came with a map and other such goodies included in the package. Does anyone know if every version of The Switcher comes with this, or should I just be expecting it to be packaged like a regular Switch game?
  21. https://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2019-11-19-nintendo-switch-uk-sales-spike-30-percent-as-pok-mon-sword-and-shield-sets-record Some more info on sales here. It was the third biggest launch EVER in the UK for Nintendo (perhaps would‘ve been second with digital sales included). Seems to be an excellent result despite the toxic Pokémon community losing its shit for most of 2019. I imagine it will overtake the lifetime sales of Pokémon Let’s GO! Pikachu/Eevee sometime before the end of December.
  22. Has Pokémon Sword/Shield not been snubbed here? I guess it was cutting it fine to meet the deadline, to say the least. I would’ve expected it to be nominated in the Family and Role-Playing categories. Though I looked back on previous years and it seems that Pokémon Let’s GO! Pikachu/Eevee, Sun/Moon and Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon also missed out, for whatever reasons.
  23. You could also say that it stands out in the line up, in a good way, because all the other games are super serious by comparison and might split the votes and split opinions. Smash is a crowd pleaser.
  24. What makes you say that? Isn't it both the best selling and best reviewed game in the GOTY list? Is it the wrong genre? Not credible enough? I don't think Smash winning can be ruled out and, as I said, I think it'll win the public vote in that category and it's evidently loved by the critics.
  25. Personally, I'm super happy to see Super Smash Bros. Ultimate up for Game of the Year. That game takes my breath away every time I dip into it. I think it could and should win the public vote in that category, but it's the juries I'm worried about. They might prefer to go for something that's also up for Game Direction and/or Best Narrative, but let's see. Thinking about it, this game easily had the best chance for Nintendo to actually win GotY. Fire Emblem was too niche and anything else that could've been nominated (Zelda, Super Mario Maker 2, Luigi's Mansion 3) wouldn't have stood a chance. The Family (Nintendo) category is quite interesting...I'd love to see Ring Fit Adventure win there, but you'd probably have to make Smash the favourite. Nice to see Astral Chain get some recognition. Fire Emblem: Three Houses might well win the strategy category. What do you think's gonna win? What would you like to see win? Any surprises in the nominees?
