The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch
Julius replied to darkjak's topic in Nintendo Gaming
They didn't really explore all that much... Have to say I'm loving the callbacks to other games. As an OOT-only player going into this, with a little Child Link timeline knowledge, I'm pleased that I'll get some of the references in this game. Love that the motif from Epona's Song is used in the Stable music too, obviously that's a no-brainer but I thought it was a neat little touch! -
I think it screams more of trying to keep the Wiimote/Motion department busy, and to keep that department relevant, in the event that VR does blow up before Nintendo's next console (whenever or whatever that may be), allowing them to hop onto that bandwagon, or perhaps even give it a jumpstart.

Well, based on UK Amazon prices: • SanDisk 64GB Micro (80Mb/s) = £17.39; ~£0.27/GB • SanDisk 128GB Micro (80Mb/s)= £45.34; ~£0.35/GB • SanDisk 256GB Micro (95Mb/s) = £149.99; ~£0.59/GB So, 64GB SanDisk Ultra MicroSDXC is the best for value over here. You could probably tell at a quick glance, but I figured I might as well break down the rest anyway (for anyone who wants to compare to other brands).

This had me really intrigued too! Hopefully we'll see more of it at E3

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch

It seems to be running much smoother and at a higher resolution. Yep, that's probably the only difference. (But I didn't buy a Wii U and I'm definitely buying a Switch, this game looks bonkers levels of beautiful) -
...neither does Breath of the Wild

Well, I mean, it feels awkward now that you're asking...maybe you should just tell him?

Just been watching Gamexplain play this game and...wow. There are still some cases of pop-in, but other than that? This game looks drop dead gorgeous in 1080p. Also, first look since the Game Awards a few years back as to how horse riding really works! -
Posted this elsewhere, but figured it sort of belongs here too.

Been looking around at game pricings everywhere, and stumbled upon something on GAME. It might be nothing, or it may be placeholder - so take it with a grain of salt - but these dates aren't "TBC" like others with unconfirmed release dates (such as FIFA, Skyrim, etc.), so I thought it was worth sharing, especially seeing as other dates that are specific thus far seem to match the officially confirmed dates. According to the website: • Splatoon 2 - August 18th • ARMS - April 15th ShopTo seems to have a similar thing going on, with Ubisoft's Steep (the skiing game) and Rayman Legends Definitive Edition currently stated as having March 3rd - launch day - releases. Again, grain of salt, but this would certainly back up just how much Ubisoft were backing the Switch before reveal: 3 launch day titles (the two aforementioned as well as Just Dance).

MK8 Deluxe runs at 1080p 60FPS on TV, 720p 60FPS on the go, according to Treehouse folk. Talked about it being an upscale of a previous Wii U game. Will Zelda run the same..?

If I were them I wouldn't play such a dangerous game with fans if that turns out to be the case. It was shared by Ninty UK though, and if anything I'm sure we would be the ones to get it last.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch

If I recall, NoA gets the map/lore parchment (latter hinted at having the legend of this particular game when shown by Reggie) and protective case (as well as a coin? Maybe?) whereas NoE only gets the CD and Master Sword statuette. -

Thanks for the heads up! Have pre-ordered both standard and special edition from Amazon & ShopTo, fingers crossed savings can cover the Pro Controller -
Too right, this game looks genuinely fun at a glance, and to find out it has great depth with strategy too? Can definitely see this taking off in eSports

More footage of BotW will be shown during the Treehouse Livestream (which is currently taking place). -
I think the biggest problem is that many are citing that the price is as high as it is because of it being innovative - the first of its kind in my memory - and having the pros (and cons) of being both a home and portable console. If the price is way high because of that (and to make profit), why then does it seem like they're double-dipping on that fact with the prices of the games? I mean, awesome, I can play Zelda at home or on the go (for three hours, give or take), but why are both console and game price both reflecting the "innovation" we've had presented to us. Financially, it makes total sense. No exclusive home or portable console, so double the game price. But in terms of marketing, average game cost, etc? Not so much.

I do have to say though, the North American boxart is much nicer than the one we Europeans get :/ http://nintendoeverything.com/zelda-breath-of-the-wild-north-american-vs-european-boxart-comparison/ -
I will, or at least that's currently the plan (if something shifty, such as ridiculous subscription prices, comes out, then I might question it). Pre-ordered Special Edition BotW and Grey Switch with Amazon (the latter with ShopTo also!). Still quietly praying that the pre-order price slips like so many things (even if just to cover the price of the Pro controller).

Right then. Presentation out of the way. Roll on the Treehouse Livestream in 25 minutes!

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch

I've managed to not say anything about this yet, so... ...this game looks awesome. I mean, "has the potential to be the best game: period." awesome. It looks very childlike with the use of shading and art style, yet it seems to have a very dark undertone, which will more than likely lead to a great narrative. It feels and looks like Studio Ghibli, and is made by Nintendo using the Legend of Zelda. COULD MY BODY BE ANY MORE READY?! -
Seems to be their (attempt at an) answer to a lot of multiplayer heavy, strategy-focused games.
