Rummy why are you so certain that this is going to happen, all that is needed is a bit of common sense and everything will be fine. It is simply the law of averages that when hundreds of thousands of people are doing something that there will be some fools who can't controll themselves. Good grief just let it go... ...no not the controller the issue.

haha you said tit!

A major flaw? Read the words that you are typing! A major flaw would be something like the remote falling apart in your hand, not a strap breaking because someone can't even hold on to a controller! Everybody look at wii sports, the tennis is the simplest thing since pong, all that you are required to do is hold the controller. If somebody can't even hold a controller then they are either disabled (which would be a justification as they could not hep it) or they are just plain and simple idiots. Lets face it we don't know anything about these videos or claims, anything could be going on! Also if you were going to drink a bottle of coke but when you tipped the bottle you didn't open your mouth and so the coke spilled everywhere, whose fault would that be? Yours or the manufacturer of the coke drink?

Sitting at an angle to the sensor bar...
dannbrownn replied to dannbrownn's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Because everyone has called it the sensor bar thus far and it would confuse people to call it anything else now, that comment is very stange i don't know if it's intended to be a clever post or a comedy post, but it is neither Give me strength -
Sitting at an angle to the sensor bar...

For single player yes, but for multiplayer it would be impossible, looks like i will have to wait and see!... ...But i don't want to wait another 9 days! -
Sitting at an angle to the sensor bar...
dannbrownn replied to dannbrownn's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I know but my question is if you are at an angle to the sensor bar the angles and distances that the wiimote takes its info from will be different, i am sure that they have thought about this but i am just a bit wary as it has not been properly shown anywhere! -
How many wii games actually will need you to make wild gestures like the ones in wii sports? Warioware and rayman maybe, but things like zelda and redsteel, racing or fps games wont need anything like the dramatic actions you can do for a minority of games. That was serious, the next part is not... Anyway surely it is more realistic that if you don't hold on tight it could fly out of your hand, for example most golfers in real life find it is much easier to not let the club fly out of their hand when they are playing, the same goes for tennis and throwing cows. You would never get any distance on a cow throw without holding tight.

In my living room where the wii will hopefully be based our tv is in a corner at a diagonal angle and the seat that i normally sit in is at an angle to the tv and as a result will also be at an angle to the sensor bar, if i am playing alone then i can move the sensor bar but if i am on multiplayer then obviously i cant. So i was wondering if in a game such as zelda or redsteel where you use the direct pointing device if you are sitting at an angle to the sensor bar does the console think that you are constantly turning to one side and as a result make the action on the screen move that way or make the pointer go to one side of the screen? Heres an image to demonstrate what i mean: The controller in the middle will be fine as it is an equal distance to both of the sets of infrared lights in the sensor bar, but the controllers on either side will becloser to one than the other and the angles will all be out of shape, does sitting to one side cause any interference with gameplay on games that use the sensor bar for direct pointing?

A new and inventive way to attack Nintendo now they are looking like they could be successful in the home console market.

I would normally hesitate to endorse such a response as that, but it's to funny not to quote in a reply for no reason! Anyway my actual post is: It is a world worthy of our pity that we live in if people can complain about their own bodies after they themselves do something to either damage themselves or let themselves get out of shape for them to be in a position that playing the wii could cause themselves pain. There is only one person to blame if you injure yourself with the wii. And that one person is not Satoru Iwata!

From Revolution to Wii - The Road in Pictures (56K Warning)
dannbrownn replied to Stocka's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Why the hell have they spelt Nintendo Wrong!!!!!! -
DON'T WORRY, DON'T PANIC, STAY CALM! IT IS INDEED A MISTAKE: "Red Steel will play on both standard and high definition TV screens," confirmed a spokesman from Ubisoft Australia. "It was an unfortunate mistake, which was only spotted once the slicks hit shelves." http://www.aussie-nintendo.com/?v=news&p=7621

So can someone confirm once and for all if you get any points with the retro controller? Yes as far as i am aware 2000 points are meant to be £15, but play.com have their own idea: http://www.play.com/Games/Wii/4-/3271513/Official_Nintendo_Points_Card/Product.html

I can't believe that people are still quoting sales figures, it is now absolutely clear that nobody knows how many units they shipped to America!!! Just wait for the official announcement of sales figures at the end of the year, or whenever they have hit a landmark figure. Also the only place that could give us accurate sales figures this fast would be Japan, look at how fast we had the PS3 launch week multi-format sales. Stop deciding that you know how many units there are, surely when people come up with estimates of 300,000 units and another person says between 1 and 1.2 mill, it is a sign that there is confusion on this matter!!!!!

I think its also important to point out that discount direct also have a novelty lamps category: http://www.bestcheapmart.com/cgi-bin/ISStore/store?action=view&RO=vdwx8rinb3&dep=&cat=425 Yes thats right they have an actual category for it! and the category is part of the main selection!

Next Week i will be playing warcraft a lot (ON Agamaggan look out for DannBrutii of the horde!) As for the launch week: I should be getting the wii at a midnight launch so most of Thursday will be spent sleeping to offset the lack of sleep i will get that night! The four days before launch i will be giving my entire house a really good clean (and i mean obsessively clean!) so that my house will be worthy of containing a wii!

Excellent creativity behind that reply. I believe the correct WoW term is: /bow
-
Exactly my thoughts, the wait might kill me, but i am going to leave it until a week after launch to go online so that we can be sure there is no serious problem on PAL systems. Perfectly said

How can there be an irish word for wii? Wii isn't even a word in english!
-
Anyone got a link to some videos of this game?
-
Exactly what i believe! Everything you hear about is HD this or HD that, so most people who do not really know about technology already know about HD and as you say they will be sure that it works with their tv

I shall call mine: Edward Sanderson-Brown, 18th Earl of Wessex, 24th in line to the throne of England and it's Commonwealth.

I don't have a gc controller anymore:cry: And there are meant to be so many wii points supplied with the retro controller which in theory would offset some of the costs, all i want is Donkey Kong to start off my retro career, then i will buy the points on cards from a shop until i have confidence in the online security, i know its got to be pretty damn secure but i like to be sure! Roll on the Wii, but not in it!
