  2. Right then, here is my Video, that shows a nice bit of gameplay and has a very brief review of the game. This is my first attempt at a video review so please go easy on me if it is not very good! Also i will just point out that my profile information is indeed acurate, i am a 20 year old male, the reason i say this is because i have a stupid high pitched voice! In real life it is not to bad but as soon as i am on a phone or recording something it becomes ten times worse! dannbrownn's first ever video review: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=pO2NfjrOxjk enjoy, and let me know what you think
  3. I think we both do! Please i feel quilty and ashamed enough about it as it is, but at the time i didn't know what i was doing, i was wandering through the world as one caught in a dream! :shakehead :shakehead :shakehead :shakehead :shakehead :shakehead :shakehead :shakehead :shakehead :shakehead :shakehead :shakehead :shakehead :shakehead :shakehead :shakehead
  4. OMG! lol I don't even care if that is true or not it sounds pretty accurate! In my video i am going to run through a few of his taunts! I should have uploaded my video by half eight tonight providing everything goes well.
  5. I have indeed spent quite few pounds more than i needed to! The wii sold on ebay for £265 which made up for the losses i made on selling the games that i had bought with it! and there were a lot of games! on launch night i collected £420 worth of stuff! Not to mention all the DS stuff that went with it!
  6. I got this game yesterday and am currently working on a video review of it, which i will stick on youtube later on tonight! So far i am quite impressed with it, but i find that the swearing is unbelieveably intense!
  7. I think we may be nearing a time when all people shall unite and wear the great T-Shirt: http://s146.photobucket.com/albums/r271/dmbnn/?action=view&current=shirt.jpg
  8. Hello! It is good to be back here after a few months away! I can see plenty of new faces as well as some of the old favourites. I don’t know if this short tale will be of any interest to anyone but we will soon see! This is my tale of the gaming lifestyle! There and Back Again, A Gamers Tale By dannbrownn The wait for the Wii nearly killed me! I literally spent 2 years waiting for it to arrive scouring the internet, discussing it on forums, dreaming about it and so on. The only distraction I ever had from waiting for the Wii was playing on the DS, which I also loved. So when December 8th came round me and my friend were the first people in line at our local games shop waiting for midnight to get our consoles. When the door opened I was the first person in our town to get one. So off home I ran with a bag full of goodies, I first switched my console on at about quarter past midnight, and from that very first moment I couldn’t believe it using the Wiimote to enter data was amazing! The 5 minutes later when I served my first ball on Wii Sports Tennis, I knew we were witnessing the start of something big. December went fine and the Wii made for an awesome Christmas… but at the start of 2007 I had a problem. For the two years prior to the Wii launch I had been a full time eBayer, but due to the reclusive lifestyle I had created I was forced to go out and get a ‘real job’ the only true motivation for me to get a proper job was if I was to close down my eBay shop so I had no choice but to get a job. So I sold off all my remaining stock to a friendly American and that was it… I had backed myself into an awful corner. Looking at the release list for Wii and DS my ‘to buy’ list was already totalling hundreds and hundreds of pounds… and this was literally a few days into the year! Who knew what titles would be announced and how big my to buy list would become. Seeing this I started to panic, because when it comes to games I have very little control and really do need to buy the latest games straight away, no matter how much money I had. At this time I did not have a job and had no idea when I might have one. So it was that I was faced with a heart breaking choice, sell the DS and Wii which were the centre of my life and that I spent all my time with… or keep them and risk going bankrupt! It took me a few days to make the decision and it even gave me a nosebleed! But in the end I had to make one final set of listings on eBay. And after more than 700 days of waiting and wondering I had sold my Nintendo Wii just 44 days after buying it. Then in a cruel twist of irony I had been given a job at a local supermarket within two weeks of saying goodbye to the Wii and DS! I was gutted! But for the sake of savind money I managed to resist running straight out and getting another Wii and DS and instead started to experiment with the PSP… But after years of using the DS although the PSP was incredibly powerful I just could go back to handheld games without a touch screen! Within a week I had sold the PSP, but then I regretted it as I wanted something to play videos on and show pictures with… so… a few weeks later… I bought a second PSP… which I still have! So without any proper games in my life I was being seduced by Microsoft… should I get a quality PC to play Warcraft and Supreme Commander or should I get an XboX 360 for its excellent online features and multi-player? I definitely was not going to get a PC after I remembered how Warcraft had once taken over my life, so I bought a 360! And I love it! Multi-player with the headset was a revelation to me, playing Rainbowsix Vegas team sharpshooter is a brilliant way to pass time! I had a good few months of un interrupted 360 playing during which I wondered if the wii really had been as good as I had thought. But there was no time to worry about that is at the end of April I couldn’t resist buying another DS and the US import version of Pokemon diamond, which is just an amazing game! Anyway, skip forward a few months and the Wii was calling me stronger than ever so, just over a week ago I bought another Wii… and after my concerns on whether it was as good as I thought I was relieved to find that after using the standard 360 controller the Wiimote was more magical than ever! And I now firmly believe the Wii is the right direction for games to go more than ever! So all in all this year I have had everything… lost it all and experienced the emptiness of life without games, then ended up with more than I ever had before! So what is life without games? The answer… terrifying. Well that is my short story about the adventures of one twenty year old male and his games, I did have a reason for posting this at the start but I seem to have forgotten it amidst all the memories that this post has fetched back to me! Anyway that is my tale, and it is good to be back here to discuss games with such wonderful people, please feel free to add me to your friends list on the Wii (I need to repopulate my console with Mii‘s!) and also feel free to add me on xbox live. Just sendme a PM if you add me. I can’t wait to discuss some games! PS. My Wii Friend code is: 2596 5743 0045 4458 and my xbox live Gamertag is: dannbrownn
  9. It is good to see another person experience the Wii! I would advise it to anyone, it is already picking up a huge amount of developer support so you can guarantee that there will be games that everyone will enjoy on it, much like the ps2 but only with incredible experiences using controls we can't even dream of! I am currently loving excite truck! A nice and simple game with simple controls... but with one important factor that makes it great... The game is actually FUN!
  10. I have been away from these forums for many long months... and that is going to lead me to post a topic which you may or may not find interesting! Anyway i want to make sure that i have not missed any top quality console videos on youtube while i have been away! I have obviously seen the PS3 song! But are there any others about, i have created this one on my part: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zzDOfik_ov4 So then what have you found recently? It's good to be posting here again i can tell you, i can't wait till i have more time to speak properly! later my friends!
  11. I am not very good at games like Zelda but i still enjoy them... the only thing is that it takes me forever to get through them, in games such as windwaker i found that i could still keep my motivation as i knew the end was not to far away. However because of the size of Twilight Princess, i find it knock my motivation as there is never and end in sight! As much as i love it and think it is one of the best games i have ever played i do feel that the length of the game is a problem as i can't set goals for the week as i don't know what might happen next in the game. I am sorry but until i finish the game i do not want to read any of these threads just in case it spoils the story for me! So i won't be able to respond to any comments you might make about this!
  12. I have been using some cheap 'Wilko's' batteries and i have found that they will last just over a week or longer depending on how much i play... and i play alot! But my second controller that my dad uses to play wiisports has only had one change of batteries since launch! He also plays a lot. Obviously it depends on what features of the controller the games are using, for example i don't think that GT Pro series uses much energy at all. I would also give a warning about using rechargable batteries as i have had a few bad experiences with them running out of power within minutes in other electronic devices.
  13. I think it is going to be like online DS games and you will be able to just play with random strangers but wont be able to communicate with them, whereas if you are playing with registered contacts you will be able to communicate with them. With Nintendo's current obsession with online security that would seem likely, and to a certain extent it is a good system. But the limitations are sometimes annoying. Still i would rather be able to go online and play mariokart against real people rather than just playing the computer, so i look at it like this: It's better than nothing, though it could be better!
  14. Wow, that is a lot! I am adding you now...
  15. Hello, i was just wandering how many contacts people had in their wii address book, i was wandering if there was any average amount, or if anyone had filled the entire address book! Currently i have only got 6 friends! What about you? **points!**
  16. Ah Now i Sii! Said the blind man. I don't know how i missed that! What a fool i feel... oh no wait... i actually feel like a right 'fuxxing n00b!'
  17. Hello, i like to enjoy humour that only 'gamers' and active forum user gamers really know about, such as the 'Giant Enemy Crab' 'Riiiiidge Racer' and the crazyness that is the 'Sony Defence Force' For a while i have wandered what all the mentions of 8.8 Great are about, i think it's from the ratings off gamespot, do they give that rating to alot of thing? Is there no joke at all about 8.8 Great? Am i just reading into it to much?! PS. Sorry for putting this here but i didn't know where this topic would fit in, so to give it a wii related part... Didn't twilight princess get 8.8 Great?
  18. Oh for georges sake! How could i have forgot the sensor bar stand!!!! What was i thinking. If it is the sensor bar stand in question then if there was an earth quake it would make the sensor bar far more unstable than it would be sitting flat on any surface! I'm so confused! Did Nintendo not Earthquake proof the sensor bar stand... this could be an oversight that ultimately costs Nintendo market leadership in this console war.
  19. Online play will be useless if they don't get the control system right. EA have got to absolutely nail this one perfectly, as this is the sort of game that my dad and will be playing, although he is a gamer (PC mainly) his friends aren't and this is the sort of game they would be interested if it is rubbish to control it will not inspire my dad to say to his golfing friends, have you seen the tiger woods wii game... and so on... Also if they are none gamers and my dad asks them about tiger woods's wii it could lead to an amusing annecdote!
  20. Are you talking about the clear plastic disc looking thing? If so, it slots underneath the silver plastic stand to provide more a more steady base... because if there was an earth quake the first thing we would think is: 'OMG my will fall over sideways, what shal i do, if i try to run across the room from this safe doorframe i could be killed!' But luckily with the added sideways stability if there is an earthquake we can think: 'It's a good job that Iwata, Shigsy, Reggie and the gang gave us that extra bit for the stand, now i can stay in my safe doorframe without fear of my Nintendo Wii gaming console, with motion sensitive controllers, news, weather, photo and internet features, falling over' So in short, thats what the clear plastic thing is for, unless you were talking about something else in which case that above explanation has wasted time for both of us.
  21. Surely the flicking technique is as pointless and boring as using a ruler to get a strike every time on bowling in 42 All time classics! It's not fun, it doesn't say anything about your skill, it's not how the game was meant to be played!
  22. That has to be one of the best comments ever! Anyway, wow a star pad! Surely that can't be real... oh wait this is the same company that changed the name of their console from Revolution to Wii, of course it can be real!
  23. Yes that is true, the difference between multi-player golf and bowling to tennis, baseball and boxing is that whatever you score playing golf or bowling has nothing to do with the other player, if you finish a round of golf 3 under par, but your human openent finishes 4 under, your round has still been a damn good round! Whereas if you win three games of tennis in a row against some one who has never played before and doesn't know how to best time the swing of the racquet, it does not mean that you are a good player!
  24. ZOMG t4ht 4m 0\/\/n sony & microsoft 4m cry. (Translation, oh my god that will own! Sony and microsoft are crying!)
  25. Very true with the opinionated comment, and yes zelda would be fine without the wiimote and as it was developed for gamecube it obviously was never even intended for the wii, but that said, how much better is it using the wiimote to aim the bow and stuff like that, also assigning things such as attacks to motions frees up the buttons and stuff. When the real wii zelda comes out we will truly be able to see if the wii can add something amazing to the series, for now though i'm happy with the old direct pointing basics! and yes it should be a quesion mark, but i am far to uptight to use them in a title, question marks are just curvy exclamations, i get the feeling question marks are showing off somewhat trying to prove that they are worth their curved lines by going at the end of every quest. Who do these question marks think they are! (See what i did there by not put a quesrtion mark at the end of the question, haha i think i am so clever... until somebody creates a much better joke involving quotations, don't get me started on quotation!)
