This. Should be cute Pokémon only on the covers.

I think their view of Nintendo has changed quite a lot since the Switch, but I dunno, I still sometimes detect a kind of underlying snobbery from them when it comes to Nintendo. I may be wrong of course, just a vibe I occasionally get. Anyway, the more channels providing this type of content the better, as it means more variety in the type of games covered. Speaking of Digital Foundry though, I still cannot believe they never took a look at The Tomorrow Children! That game was simply astonishing from a technical perspective, especially in terms of its lighting. Would have made for a really interesting analysis.
-
Nice technical analysis vid here that covers all of the aspects I was so impressed with at the E3 reveal: Cool to see some competition for Digital Foundry too. I like their content but they didn't cover this game, and although they do more Nintendo stuff now than in the past, they still seem to prefer analysing the other systems/PC.

It’s a shame Explodey Squareball can’t be played against randoms online. Next time we should play some Rumble.
-
I think 3 own goals is a sign I should stop playing too. Thanks for the games!
-
That was a close game!
-
Yeah. Had it for ages though, not from the current event. Must have been in some crate.

@Sofiz & @Glen-i, I can join if there’s a space.

I just had Link’s Awakening Link appear on the Spirit Board, but I guess that’s because I already obtained it during the event. Anyway, it looks like I’m actually missing more than just the LABO spirts, still have a few that need to be summoned too.
-
Yeah, I wish I’d realised it was possible to remap the controls when I first started playing the game. Just been messing with it, but I’m far too used to the default settings so have to stick to them now. Still trying to figure out the best way to go about getting high scores, it seems time isn’t much of a factor although keeping the combo going is. I’m guessing most of the top scores on the leaderboard are done in Bananas difficulty too, as that provides a bonus score. I was thinking about how cool a level editor would’ve been for this game the other day. Even just being able to set enemy and object placement in the existing levels could’ve been really fun I reckon.
-
Correct. Limited Edition only and you can't use a voucher on it.
-
Does that include the LABO ones? I’ve been checking quite a bit and none of those seem to show up.

Final Smashing in style. Not sure what the hell was going on here: The Sudden Death was great: Cheers for the fun. @Glen-i, next time can you enable the amiibo option please? It's actually a nice alternative to using the spectator stand (when there's 4 or less players in an arena) and you need to take a break. Also, my FPs have a better chance of winning than I do. -

Nope. I have nothing but respect for people that can play as Bowser. -
Yep, credits just rolled and that's probably around how long I've played. This is definitely a case of a game that looks a lot cooler (and funnier) in the trailers than it is in reality. One of the things I really missed in the actual game was Pedro's voice. All the dialogue in-game is text only, if they'd have just got the voice from the ads in there it would've certainly helped the entertainment value and overall character. There were still some funny moments, but I expected a bit more from it really. Have to cut it some slack though, seeing as it's basically a one man project.
-
Mine was also ruined, not by missing these ones but the LABO spirits. I imagine they will all be available in the shop eventually though. That's how I got the Pikachu and Eevee ones.

Got my SMM2 stylus! Here it is alongside the one I've been using for Stage Builder in SSBU: First thing that stood out was just how much smaller the tip is! Not tested it yet, but I think that's actually going to be a lot nicer (and more accurate) than the one I've been using. It's much thinner overall but significantly heavier due to being all metal (minus the red bit on the end) whereas the other one (despite looking metallic) is entirely plastic. So yeah, the build quality on this is actually really good indeed, especially considering it's a freebie. Roll on next Friday!

That’s like saying pencils are shit for drawing. Sure there was plenty of bad animation done in Flash, but that will have always been due to the individual rather than the tool itself. Flash was actually a very good program to animate with, but knowledge of traditional animation was essential to get the best out of it. The scripting aspect of Flash was also very cool. Not sure if you were around here back then, but we used to have quite a lot of Flash content here on N-E to celebrate game releases. Countdowns and site headers that were interactive and sometimes even playable. Anyone remember that stuff? Anyway, back to My Friend Pedro. I played this for a bit yesterday and while I’m not enjoying it quite as much as I was expecting to, I think it’s mainly down to the controls. It’s just kind of confusing to keep track of all the different moves and abilities... activating and deactivating slo-mo, dodging, rolling, jumping, kicking, shooting, reloading, aiming, splitting your aim... there’s a lot going on. I’m pretty confident that once it all clicks I’ll start to enjoy the game much more, already noticed this actually by replaying a few of the earlier levels. Get the feeling this won’t be a very long game, but it seems to be built around replaying the levels for high scores and speed runs, which I like. So yeah, hopefully I can get completely used to the controls/mechanics and really get into that stuff.
-
Which one is that then, getting KO’d? Crazy vid. That type of combo play is something I just can’t get my head around. Very cool though.

Sounds good. -
Here's that stage showcase vid I mentioned in the SMM2 thread: Would be great if people could share it. I probably won't be making any more new Smash Bros. stages for a while now... but I'll be back!
-
Nice idea! It would definitely be very cool to see levels from the N-E community showcased on the main site. And I'll no doubt be making SMM2 level vids at some point too, so would be happy to contribute. Speaking of showcase vids... I recently made one for all of my SSBU custom stages that I'll be sharing soon. Just over 1 week to go for this game now!

Launch trailer: Can't wait to play this later! Really hope it lives up to the hype. Also, I had no idea it started out as a Flash game! (Man, I miss Flash ):
