Saw it with Rummy - didn't watch the first one - really enjoyed smart-mouthed Spidey but couldn't get past the tonal whiplash between Peters various woes throughout the film and putting his mask on to go out and crack wise again. Also - Jamie Foxx's pre transformation Electro - kinda reminiscent of Jim Carreys Ridder but once with his powers he seems to gain a completely different personality.

One thing I do worry about with the rise in connectivity in the world. The ability to find groups of people just like you. This is no doubt an amazing thing but I fear that the power of finding people that validate your own world view is all too tempting. As Diageo says - its not technology itself that is doing the damage but it does change the choices we can make. Sitting at home with your family watching TV you either talked to them or you didn't. It was less the case with single landlines in a home but with text/instant messaging on personal devices you have the third option of talking to your friends instead. People that more closely share your interests will be more appealing, I would imagine, to less communication with the people you live with / your family. Beyond the family example - I worry that having the option to talk to people who you already identify with, not inherently because it isn't direct personal contact but by the greater choice afforded by technology, will make people less comfortable in talking with people they don't identify with. This could lead to poor conflict management (see: the internet) and generally a less interesting life by way of the fact that you arn't exposed to as many points of view.

As many people have stated - the two terms are not mutually exclusive. As this seems to have become a discussion of the merit of his work - The street art he produces is there for message not personal profit. He can't profit directly off of something on someone else's building - though as Moogle says - it could be viewed as advertising for books/prints he does gain from. Most on the pieces on the street are more concerned with message (akin to protest) rather than aesthetics. We are lucky enough to live in a country that does provide free museums but there is still a cultural barrier that stops people from seeing art as relevant to them. I personally think that the potential damage caused is justified by the reach that displaying "art" in a very different environment provides, bringing criticisms of social issues to a wider audience rather than the gallery crowd.

***** I would just like to say that whilst Rummy did reveal off his own back I can see why he did it. People miss these subtle hints because they arn't looking for them, they scan posts for facts.
