  1. Yeah, Bioshock doesn't show credits at the end because you can access them at any time from the Main Menu. And while on the subject of credits, I don't really appreciate games that at the end give you a black screen with credits scrolling. That might be ok in a film, but in a game I want to keep being entertained while watching the credits, I don't want to stare at a black screen for 5 minutes. Games should all have creative credit sequences like an FMV of some sort, not a boring black screen. I didn't fight through 20+ hours of a game to watch a black screen, I want eye candy as reward.
  2. Yeah, I'm not convinced by Dead Space yet, cause the demo is so shit. What the hell was EA thinking to release such a worthless demo?? It's so obviously not the begining of the game, there's hardly a tutorial and suddenly you're in a room against some 6 or 7 badass monsters that you have no skill to face. Why didn't they just release a demo that showcases the game's first 30-40 minutes of gameplay, like all the others do? They wanted to be "different"? Well, "different" sometimes is bad. I was sold on Bioshock immediatly when I played its brilliant demo. Dead Space just made me delete the demo after about half an hour and forget about the game. EDIT: Come to think of it, RE5's demo is much like Dead Space's. It's just the majority of gamers were ready for it after RE4.

    Fallout 3

I pretty much honed all the important skills in one playthrough. It is kinda easy to do. Ignore Unarmed, Melee, Barter, Energy Weapons and Speech (if you already have the Silver Tongued Devil achievement Speech serves no purpose, especially since you plan on being bad. Just let your Combat Shotgun do the talking. ). And you can also ignore Big Guns in the begining. Also, boost Intelligence to at least 6, but 7 would be better, and get the Educated perk as soon as you hit level 4 for maximum skill points per level. I ended up my game with Small Guns, Science, Medicine, Sneak, Repair and Lockpick all above 85, if I'm not mistaken. And that was not planned, it just happened in the course of the game. I also ended up with Big Guns above 70, which was a surprise to me, since I pretty much ignored it for a big part of the game.

    Fallout 3

I finished Fallout 3 today with 1000 gamerpoints (I don't have any DLC). What a truly wonderful gem of a game, I am truly grateful for having been able to experience this gaming masterpiece. This is a 10/10 game if there ever was one. Loved every minute of it and I am going to miss the Wasteland.
  5. I kinda liked the use of vehicles in Half Life 2 because Valve implemented it right, ie, you can get out of the vehicle and explore, it's still the same game and not an isolated level with different gameplay. If it's like that, then I guess it would be fine. But I'm still not crazy about the idea. An FPS is an FPS, I see no reason to "mix it up" just for the hell of it. When you buy an FPS you know what you're buying. But vehicles like in, say, Gears of War 1 and 2, please no, that sucks. The vehicle levels in the Gears games are easily the worst of those games.
  6. I've always known that series of games as Fatal Frame.
  7. This game was crap. I bought it one day in 1997, one fateful day when I desperately wanted a new game to play and there werent' any new releases since the console's launch. So I ended up wasting the money on this turd. Oh, how I regretted it....
  8. Sorry, F-Link, but this needs answering... Respecfully, of course. Afterall, the conversation got us here. It's off-topic, yeah, but it's how the conversation evolved and that's the beauty of a conversation. Err, yes, david.dakota, you missed my point entirely. It was mine so I'm the one who knows if you missed it or not. The other guys got it. Bingo. I don't know what most people think that HD is... it's just resolution. You can watch The Incredibles or Shrek on DVD on an SDTV and it still looks good and far more realistic than anything on Wii or even the 360/PS3 (no, they still haven't achieved pre-rendered movie CGI quality in games, though they're damn near). You don't need Blu-ray and an HDTV to see the amazing CGI of those films, or the Star Wars films, or whatever. Be it HD or SD, the polygons, the lighting, all the graphical shebangs are there just the same. Only the resolution at which they are displayed is different. The 360's graphics look incredibly good on my SDTV. Many times better than Wii/GC. The character models, the lighting effects, the draw distance, and yes even the texture resolutions look good in SD. When in spectator mode in Gears of War 2 multiplayer, I used to roam about with the ghost camera just checking stuff. The weapon models on the ground look incredible! Thousands or millions of polygons just for a shotgun or a machinegun, or flamethrower. And don't even get me started on the water effects.... By far water effects are the ones that amaze me the most this gen. And I thought the water looked good in SMG... I don't know if you've seen it, david-dakota, but you should see the water effects in motion on Gears 2 or Fallout 3. SD, HD; doesn't matter. Of course HD looks better, but even SD destroys our loving Wii. Check this video out, in YTCD (YouTube Crappy Definition) and it still looks awesome. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZkcM4djkvLI - Water effects begining at 1:30. - "Meat cube", or soft body dynamics, begining at 2:37. - Destructible environments begining at 3:12. It's not about the HD. To me the HD is just a bonus I will get when I finally buy an HDTV. The graphical capablities are all still there in SD. Yep, same for me for the 360. "Want"? You think I don't have an HDTV cause I don't want one? Buy me a damned HDTV and see if I refuse it! And you're showing you are confused about it, you are confusing great graphics with HD graphics.
  9. Not "an HD machine", please. A "more powerful machine". I play the 360 in SD and on a 12 year old CRT 28'' TV and it still looks far superior. It's not the HD functionality that distinguishes the 360/PS3 from the Wii. Comparing 360 to Wii, even in SD, is like comparing Gamecube to N64. I don't own Halo 3, but that screen comparison between that and The Conduit is beyond biased! Show me a close up of a texture on The Conduit and show me a close up of a texture in ANY 360 game, not just Halo 3. Even Condemned, a launch game which I own looks better. When will people stop saying that the 360/PS3 look like Wii when running in SD? It just isn't true. SD, HD, doesn't matter, they are more powerful machines, they look better, full stop. Nintendo will catch up next-gen, but not this one. Wii is what it is. It is more powerful than what we've seen so far, yes, but not in the 360/PS3 category.
  10. I'm sorry, but this sounds very silly, to put it mildly... You buy games you don't play just "to support the cause", whatever that means. Right... If the games aren't worth playing (obviously they aren't to you), then "the cause" isn't worth supporting.
  11. Nah, I don't visit such sites (except this one for Nintendo fanboys ). It was an off topic thing in a more generic forum, and non-english.
  12. I am in the middle, to be honest. I never bashed the game and I expect it to be good, but I am prepared in case it doesn't turn out good. So far, I like what I see, but I don't put myself in the "over-optimistic" group. I'm just waiting to see what happens. Ok, then, I was clearly given bad intel by my sources (I'll be sure to kill them) and I stand corrected. What I had read, and quite recently too, was that PSN only allowed text chat when in-game, no voice. I found it hard to believe, but ultimately found it hilarious. I mean, from Nintendo I expect this kind of backwards thinking (Nintendo online is a joke and will continue to be until they get real), but I didn't expect it from Sony, who are in the HD war against MS.
  13. What? SOCOM has voice chat? 1 game? Look, I am not being a prick, I will stand corrected if what I'm saying is wrong, but come on... if PSN has only one or two games with voice chat, that's not really a rebuttal to what I'm saying, now is it? Let's be a bit honest here.
  14. In game? Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm under the impression PSN only allows text coms when playing games. It has voice chat outside of games only. And this was implied in my previous post, anyone with PSN should have picked it up that I was reffering to in-game, which is where PSN fails. Am I wrong?
  15. PSN has no voice chat, as far as I know. No real competition coming from there, I think. Xbox Live is like MSN. Much is said about Live not being free, I myself talked trash about it before trying. Of course I'd rather it being free, I won't be hypocrite about that. But it really is worth it. And you can find bargains online. I bought 13 months for €30, as opposed to the official 12 months for €60.
  16. You don't have to change platform, you can just complement the Wii with another one. I got a 360 last November and I really recommend it, it's a great, great console with a great catalogue and the best online service.
  17. Yep, it's one of the best TV series ever made, no exaggeration. That's the first film and it's basically a bridge between seasons 5 and 6, so someone who doesn't follow will be a bit at a loss. They do try to make it work as a stand alone film, but it really only clicks with the series' faithful audience. I still haven't seen the second film, I am currently re-watching the whole series, I'm now about midway through season 4.
  18. Dead Space and don't forget Resident Evil also. I thought that was the best damn line in the whole interview. Fuck rail shooters and devs who make them saying they're using Wii's strengths.
  19. How would a combat-free Condemned be awesome? I mean, what do you do in a game full of enemies if you can't fight them? If it were like an adventure game, where you just go around solving puzzles and there's no enemies, fine. But if you have to flee everytime you see an enemy, I frankly am not seeing the point. Is it a stealth game, then? I am intrigued by this new Silent Hill game, but I'm not yet completely sold on its concept of no fighting. I don't understand where they're going yet.
  20. It's funny you didn't like the driving, I actually thought the driving controls were the ones that worked best in the whole game. The cars are really responsive and I don't think I ever flipped one over. Oh, and Michael Bay has already directed this, as this game is a direct rip-off of The Rock. The bad guys' actions and motives are the same.
  21. Is there any japanese software house that has an FPS IP?
  22. That was my first thought too, it almost looks like an NES era cover. But this is not a complaint, I'm loving the cover! Er..., this one is actually crap. It might have a somewhat similar pose, but there's more to art than the pose. Even if I didn't know that Far Cry Vengeance is crap, that cover art would not seduce me.
  23. Horror games are always welcome in my book, just as long as it's good and not an April Fools joke. Damn, I hate this fucking day.
  24. Wouldn't it be easier with an actual poll where you vote? Anyway, if The Conduit is quality I'll definitely buy it. It's reminding me of Half Life. Madworld... although that kill at the end of the is fucking awesomely hilarious (really made me laugh out loud), I don't think I'll be getting it.
