  1. I never understood nor will I ever understand gamers who don't read the manuals. To me it's part of the gaming experience.
  2. All suits will be listed in the game manual anyway, like they've always been in every game, so no spoiler there, it's not like you're gonna only find out by playing the game. Unless you don't read the manuals. Which you should cause it's part of the ritual of playing a game.
  3. Yeah, I consider games and books different things. I was talking about the games. And frankly, I didn't even know books existed about Gears. All that said, I did like Dom's story arc in the second game. I just don't put story ahead of fun in a series like Gears of War. To me, it's a bellic shooter, set-pieces are more important than overall story in this type of game.
  4. Lol, who gives two shits? When I played Gears 1 all that I could think of was Aliens and Predator. Huge space marines with bigger guns fighting aliens and talking tough. Period. It's a fun popcorn war game. It's Contra or Metal Slug in 3D. It's what games have always been about since the begining.
  5. Yeah, trailers that have nothing to do with the games themselves. Remember the Mad World Gears 1 trailer? Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Gears of War 1 and 2, but I wanna see some proper gameplay, not CGI trailers with sad music. *yawns*

    F.3.A.R

Holy shit, those are the most realistic graphics I've ever seen! That can't be on the 360/PS3!
  7. I love both Gears of War games too. Last Christmas I played through the campaign of Halo 3 in 4 player co-op and I don't see the appeal of that game. It was fun, but nothing more.
  8. Wet Dry World, another one of my favourite levels in SM64!
  9. Yeah, I heard the game was in development hell but all hands-on I've read have been very good. For example: http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/106/1063311p1.html
  10. Latest video, everytime more amazing: This game is going to be amazing, mark my words. The world looks so big, I'm thinking at least the size of Oblivion's world, which would be great. It also looks very varied (plains as far as the eye can see, canyons, forests, farms, villages, etc) and seems to feature dynamic weather (GTA4 also has that)
  11. I disagree. You might not play it again in the following week, but you will eventually. And when I say "you" here, I'm not talking about you specifically. I must've finished Mario 64 some 10 times since 1997, and it's still as brilliant today as it was back then and I have to replay it again sometime, it's been a few years since I played any N64 game. When I bought SMG in 2007 I got all 242 stars and, yes, didn't touch it again until recently. But last week I began a new playthrough of the game and today I got the 61st and I'm loving the game just as much as I did 3 years ago, maybe more. I'm taking my time in nearly all stars, noticing many details again and some new I didn't notice back then. The game has great replayability, in my opinion, especially since you can play it for hours or just 5 minutes, get just 1 or 2 stars, save and quit. The Desert and the Lava levels in SM64 are 2 of my favourite levels in the game, but I guess to each his own. I guess I have a soft spot for desert levels because Dusty Dune Galaxy is also one of my favourite levels in SMG. Bad levels in 64, or at least boring ones, I'd have to mention Tall Tall Mountain and Tiny-Huge Island, which are my least favourite ones.
  12. This game was announced a long time ago and it was never an adaptation of the film, people just assumed that, don't know why. Ubisoft always said (and the debut teaser also showed it) that this game would be back to the style of the Sands of Time trilogy (after the 360/PS3 cell shaded one).
  13. Before the first one came out, you had these ones flying around: So slow down a bit on "without a doubt", it can change until May.
  14. This cover art is cool and all, but I prefered the darker colours used in the first one. This abundance of light blue reminds me too much of a tropical island (i.e. Sunshine). I do like the Mario drawing though, if you notice his face, he looks a lot younger here than he does in the first one's cover. I understand we can't have two similar cases, but I just don't really want to feel a Sunshine vibe, which is what this cover gives me. Anyway, it doesn't really matter to me, what does matter is that I have to replay SMG before June. And it'll be the first time I'll play it since I bought an HDTV and component cables. :awesome:
  15. Please, no. The observatory was the worst part of SMG, IMO. Peache's Castle was the only good Mario hub as far as I'm concerned. If SMG2 is to have a hub, and odds are it will have one, it should be 360º, one where you can walk everywhere and features gravity effects too. And while we're on this, it should also feature dynamic music like Banjo Kazooie did, so the music changes depending on what part you are in. And also like in Banjo Kazooie, the hub should have puzzles to solve too, make it more than just a hub.
  16. Ah, saw it. Also noticed that whole section where the wheel is is actually boat shaped. At first it just looked like a stone bridge but now I see it's a ship. Anyway, I still don't buy that that planet is some sort of transportation for Mario.
  17. I see no wheel in that picture. Do you guys mean the stone platform that is the front of his hat? I don't think it's a wheel.
  18. There is no proof that there will be no hub, what are you talking about? In SMG when you enter a room and click the blue star to select a galaxy from that room you see something very similar to that screenshot.
  19. Wow, thanks! I didn't think of looking in the legitimate sites, doh. Did you see that part at 1:36-1:40? A cylinder in which "the gravity goes around it"... You don't walk on it, you have to use those platforms and if you fall you fall around the cylinder until you hit another platform! Amazing, Nintendo never run out of ideas.
  20. I wanna see the new trailer, hope it leaks soon enough.
  21. Is it at 5 p.m.? I looked extensively but couldn't find a single place where the time was mentioned, only Feb 24 was mentioned. I haven't been playing much of Wii, last game I bought was Disaster Day of Crisis more than a year ago and there has been nothing that catches my attention ever since (and Disaster was a disapointment too). Well, there's New Super Mario Bros. Wii, but I still haven't come around to buying it, it's still too expensive. Been all this time waiting for SMG2 and the next Zelda, I'm still not sold on Metroid Other M, I don't know what it's supposed to be, nothing's been said or shown of it since the debut trailer. But whenever a Nintendo event is imminent, it's always very exciting.
  22. There's a version of the translation patch that works without the Homebrew Channel, you say. Also no mods, no chips. Ok. But how does the european Wii read a japanese disc, in that case?
  23. Sunshine was a chore.
  24. Secret is to take your time. if I remember correctly, none of the timed challenges are really that tight, your mind just makes you think you have little time and then you make mistakes. Just try to take it easy. Even the Toy Galaxy purple coin challenge (probably the hardest in the game together with the Juggernaut one) gives you plenty of time to complete it without rushing it.
  25. For me the hardest dare devil runs were the mole in Gusty Garden and the Melty Molten one. Curiously, on my Luigi run of the game, I had more trouble on the Bouldergeist dare devil run, though.
