  1. Unfortunately, the Zelda demo is not impressing me...
  2. http://e3.nintendo.com/ That really seems to be the best place to watch the show. You can maximize the window to full screen, so it's a win.
  3. I got about 13 or 14 stars, not really sure, I'm up to World 2 now, just did 2 stars and the Comet Medal on the first World 2 galaxy (Puzzle Plank, is it?). The game is simply fantastic, it improves on the original in every possible way, including the retro World Map (I thought the Observatory was very lacklustre). So far, it seems to me like there are a lot more small planet based galaxies and that's also a plus for me. Some galaxies have strange music, though... not sure it's better than SMG in the music department. Will have a better opinion on this as I progress further. But there is no doubt in my mind that SMG2 is better than SMG and, fuck me, that's a feat!
  4. Youtube does live streams?
  5. Daniel Craig as James Bond...? In GoldenEye? I do think Daniel Craig is the best Bond since Connery, but GoldenEye is Pierce Brosnan's show, this is wrong. That's exactly what the guy you responded to said.
  6. I bought this on friday and just collected the 1st star (and 1st comet medal as well) just to wet my beak a bit. I'm currently going through Assassin's Creed 2 on the 360 (and loving it too) and I'm gonna wrap that up before diving into SMG2.
  7. That didn't stop Prince of Persia.
  8. Mario dies in SMG2. But then you just use one of the 1-up shrooms and he's alive again.
  9. No, I didn't slag Z-targeting, I used the word "vulgar" as in "common", "frequent", most every game has it, etc. Even Red Dead Redemption has it, and that's the game of the moment. :p
  10. Ah, ok, I didn't see it.
  11. I don't think it applies, no. Just like the majority of modern cinema audiences can't really stand a b/w movie (even if it's a modern one), that doesn't mean b/w movies suck in comparison to colour ones. Just an example. A game (or any other object) has to be judged based on the year it was made. Zelda OOT was a milestone in 3D gaming. Something as simple and today vulgar as Z-targeting (even though the only console to ever feature a button called Z was the N64 (and GC), as far as I know) came from it. But no game prior to OOT had that and someone had to come up with it. But of course you can't use the same judgment to analyse a 1998 game as for a 2010 game, that's just common sense. Things have to be considered relatively, just like some less gifted people argue that a Wii game can't possibly get a 10 in graphics because even an average game on the 360 will look better. You can't analyse Wii games using 360 criteria, and you can't analyse 1998 games using 2010 criteria.
  12. Weren't you around at the time Ocarina was released? It was praised even before it was released. Ocarina's success is not a case of nostagia. It was always considered a masterpiece and got 10's in most or all magazines at the time, even with little internet activity. And so was Mario 64.
  13. Nice try, but I don't buy it. :p
  14. Really? Well, that sucks. After GTA4, it's stupid to go back to the no swimming thing. It's disapointing. In games where you can't go in the water it just makes the water seem like it's just scenery, you can't interact with it.
  15. I don't wanna argue with people who own the game (I don't yet) but I searched on Youtube for videos of nighttime play and the lighting looks fine to me.
  16. I have a rule of not buying games much above €20/€25 or so, no matter how good they are. However, I do think I'm going to open an exception for RDR. And of course SMG2, cause Nintendo games never drop prices, fuck knows why.
  17. What's with the special edition? Only the golden guns download? Meh.
  18. Huh? GTAIV deserves all the praise it received. Great gameplay, a great city, great story and especially great characters, dialogue and satire. I laughed more with GTAIV than with 99% of movie comedies I see. And I still have The Ballad of Gay Tony to play.
  19. No, there weren't. Super Mario Galaxy 1 has 121 stars that get to be collected twice each, if you choose to play a second playthrough with Luigi. Which is exactly what it is, a second playthrough. In your opinion if a game has only one level that you have to play 10 times in order to finish it, does it have 10 levels? Not in my book.
  20. I fucking knew this game would be awesome! This and SMG2 (and possibly Fallout New Vegas later on), each in their own way, games of the fucking year.
  21. Hmm, Fallout 3's world was actually quite smaller than Oblivion's. That could be due to the fact that you could travel by horse in Oblivion (thus faster) whilst in Fallout 3 you had to go on foot all the time so they made the world a bit smaller. So, New Vegas' world could be a lot bigger than Fallout 3's without it being too big.
