  1. Now that's underhanded. It's the kind of thing you'd see in Law & Order as some kind of sudden twist that causes the characters to have to adapt and switch up their argument! Except it's real life!
  2. But wait... Disaster is literally taking every B-Disaster Movie cliché and rolling it into one ridiculous, over-the-top game. You bring that to cinema and well, you just get another B-Disaster Movie. God, I'd kill for a sequel to that game though.
  3. You can change the size of pictures by editing the post, holding Ctrl and right clicking the image.
  4. There are four PMD fans! @drahkon had a decent time with the Switch version, but I wouldn't say he's quite at our level yet.
  5. Actually, that could make a great base for an episode of Black Mirror. Don't think TPC would be on board for that though. I'm always on board for documentaries, one on Pokémon Go and it's sudden explosion of popularity would be quite fascinating as well. @Dcubed, GET IN HERE!
  6. @Julius, GET IN HERE!
  7. @Hero-of-Time would have a heart attack!
  8. That is possible, but Epic would be able to do the same on the XBox itself, which means less profit on Microsoft's part. It's a slippery slope, there's definitely an argument for lowering these costs to sell games on console storefronts. My issue is that Epic is trying to get it so that there is no cost. Which just isn't feasible! Epic is also one of the scummiest companies out there. They're the current poster child of microtransaction exploitation (The judge even called Epic Tim out on this, suggesting he just wants impulse buying to be easier). It's clear that Epic is chasing this purely because they don't just want most of the money, they want all the money! If they win, it puts the like of Apple, Sony and so on in a weaker position financially. Which is exactly want Epic wants.
  9. I may not be the best person to explain, but I'll give it a crack and let others correct any likely mistakes or omissions I make. First of all, Epic's main goal is to allow their customers to access their own store on ioS (and likely the three main consoles as well) They'll claim all sorts of reasons for how this will benefit the consumer, but really, that's bull. They just don't want to pay Apple their share of the money made from selling their in-game currency and allow their customers (which are mostly children) to buy said currency as quickly and as easily as possible. Apple, want things to stay the way they are. They still want their cut of anything sold through their app store. While reducing the amount of money developers pay to the likes of Apple, Nintendo, etc. could have some benefits. Epic is not the kind of company that I think should ultimately benefit from this. They claim they're fighting for the smaller game developers out there, but Epic is anything but. What has made this trial really interesting is that it's forced Epic and Apple to reveal a smorgasbord of documents that has given us some insight into the kind of deals that go on behind the scenes. All of the big 3 console makers are being hit with this sudden clarity. Microsoft have had some of their plans to get XCloud on other consoles exposed. We've had soft confirmation that Epic effectively bullied Nintendo into making Yoshi's Crafted World on Unreal Engine in order to get said engine on the Switch. We also know that Ninty refuses to work with any company that has ties with the Yakuza (lol). Sony, arguably, have been hit the hardest by this. A lot of their more questionable practices have been brought to light, especially on them forcing fees on developers if cross-play supported games make more money on consoles that are not PlayStation. (We've had confirmation that Microsoft and Ninty do not follow suit) Naturally, we've also had plenty of e-mails between Apple and Epic. Some of them have been kinda funny. (Apple Tim basically pulled a "New phone, who dis?" on Epic Tim about 5 years ago) EDIT: @Julius is pretty much spot on. Epic want to basically become the big video game provider. And they want to do so in a way that crushes the big 3 under their vast wealth.
  10. That Mewtwo Strikes Back remake? Yeah, that wasn't much better. Looked really cheap. I know I go on about my disapproval of Detective Pikachu a lot, but credit where it's due. At least they chose to base the movie on a game that made sense as a plot-driven movie. Instead of something stupid and low-hanging, like Pokémon Go or something. Honestly the only way I can see live-action Pokémon being satisfying for me is if they pull a "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" with it. But the sheer difficulty of that would no doubt be too much of a risk for Hollywood to consider. Then again, Space Jam 2 is happening, so I wouldn't say it was impossible. You know what? Give me a PMD anime. A full one. Not a few 1-episode specials alongside the normal anime. Commission a separate anime studio, one with a proven track record, to make up their own plot set in that universe. I'd watch the crap out of that, provided it was decent.
  11. I'll start sending those to you tonight then.
  12. Cheers! If, you're interested. I have a real Common, Famous, Flowery, Jolly, and Quaint painting spare.
  13. I'll be available at around 9-ish for the Warrior Statue.
  14. OK, so correct me if I'm wrong, but is Epic Tim basically saying "Y'all should change how you run your store in a way that benefits you in no way what-so-ever because I think it's a good idea"? Because if so, he's officially nuts. Also he starts a business e-mail with "Y'all"? What?
  15. I mean, yeah, he's under oath and all, but still. Wow, he actually said that!
  16. I don't believe for one second that Epic actually care for any of the properties they've shoved into Fortnite. It doesn't feel like it comes from a place that has the same kind of respect as the likes of Smash Bros, Link in Soul Caliber or projects like Cadence of Hyrule. I'm like, 99% sure the Samus Cameo was shot down by Nintendo because Epic would've wanted it across all platforms.
  17. I played this 4 years ago and was howling throughout! Everything about is absurd, and it makes those 5-6 hours fly by! This is the kind of game that sticks with you. I'll add two things, even the Game Over screen is funny and sugar has never been so terrifying!
  18. Nope, I'm out! That aesthetic just does not look good to me. It gives me that "Realistic Mario" vibe. It just makes the Pokémon look gross.
  19. Yeah, it's really strange that it got an official dub when the series was non-existant in the west. Like, who was the intended audience!? A theoretical new anime series would defo perform better over here these days.
  20. Yeah, we're never gonna see a Fire Emblem anim... OH SNAP! Yep, already happened. Marth's name was translated as Mars for some reason.
  21. "You can't make epic final level music funky, that's just ridiculous!" Sega: "Hold my beer."
  22. Buh huh buhh buh buhhhh, faaa fa fa fa fa! That audio quality is atrocious! I can't understand a word! EDIT: Wait, really!? Someone hacked it? That's great! Guarantee that was because Epic riled up children to support them before this trial.
  23. Crafted World being on Unreal Engine always felt bizarre. Like, Nintendo constantly run things through their own methods, so to have this Yoshi game come out and be like "We're using Unreal" was really confusing for me, and then no other Ninty title follows suit? Your theory makes a lot of sense.
  24. That really explains a lot about the lack of crossplay on PlayStation. Sucks real hard!
  25. I'll be playing online (probably with @Mokong) at around 8:30, give or take a bit. I'm HR6, but I'm more than happy to help anyone who is a lower rank.
