Ok, it just is that on every mobo manufacturer site I visited the opteron was only socket 940. They are quite similar though, the opteron having only one more pin.

Why should he spend money for an overclockers memory? Imo that would be money wasted... And a boxed processor (meaning that there is a heatsink and fan bundled with the cpu) is better than one without heatsink/fan. As it used to be that amd cpu's had 3year warranty if it was used with the bundled heatsink/fan. And only one year if used with a third party heatsink/fan. And if you're refering by the copper heatsink to the, well, fan model, using it revokes the warranty of the cpu. I just weights more than a heatsink should by amd's specification. The heatsink is great though, worked wonders for my cpu's temp, it dropped from almost 60´C to a healthy 40-45´C. And aren't opterons socket 940? Because I can't seem to find a socket 939 mobo which supports opteron... edit: Opterons are for servers, so it would be advisable to get a x2 athlon for a home computer as their prices have dropped to a reasonable level.
-
That means that you'll need a new motherboard for the processor as the athlon xp isn't compatible with athlon 64. And if you want to continue using the radeon 9800 make sure that the mobo has an AGP slot. Then again it would be better for the future to get a new mobo with PCI-E and a PCI-E graphics card. And if you alreaydy have 512Mb memory you could save some money by just getting another 512Mb.

Check if your motherboard supports that processor. And check that for the memory also. Though I think that any reasonably modern computer can handle that memory. It's the processor that I'm not so sure about. And probably the best performance improvement would be from spending the 300£ on a new graphics card. And you can plug them in yourself, but do read the instructions carefully. And what's your setup like now?

Who wants that when you could have this I would really like to try that thing. The only problem is that it's rather expensive. The quake is displayed by an SGI computer with 12 processors and four 100 000$ graphics card...

The main thing here is the adda conversion. To the vcr it records as analog, which is what the console outputs also. For the PC it has to be converted to digital format. The conversion takes a lot of cpu power when it has to be in realtime. And there's no point in recording at pal60 the resolution is higher by only few pixels, and I don't know if there are that kind of vcr's that can capture PAL60.
-
I think you've misunderstood the meaning of the cable. The yellow(=composite cable) one transmits the picture, white one the left audio channel and the red one the right audio channel. A component cable would separate red, green and blue, but there isn't a PAL one for GC. And it would be a waste also as the quality on vhs tape is even worse than on a normal composite cable. So just plug the scart which you have now in your tv, to your recorder. Use the RF modulator or another scart cable to connect the vcr to your tv. Chose the appropriate channel for the vcr and start playing. And press rec on the vcr when you want to record.

Well they did win, but they didn't conquer our country. And the casulties for us were about 22 800 men lost, but for the ussr it was over 126000. Or even more, no one has ever gotten the exact number. That was in the winter war. In the following war the figures go at about 64000 finns and at least 96 400 for the ussr. and here's the man behind most of that: Oh and a little war fact at the end: A Finnish sniper still holds the record for most kills. And he did all those without a rifle with scope, he only used ironsights.

If your capture card can capture composite, just plug the composite cable in the cube/N64 and capture directly from that. But if you want to capture to vhs, check if your vcr has a scart socket, if it has plug the composite cable of the cube/N64 into that with the adapter which came with the cube or N64. Then switch the vcr's channel to e1, e2, av or similar. If the vcr has two scarts, use the other to connect it to a tv. Check the vcr's manual for which scart is the input and which one is the output. Oh and don't think about using PAL60 with composite, it'll look horrible...

I don't think you have it built in (integrated), but as a PCI card. Similar to how you have your sound card/graphics card. Maybe a couple of pictures will help you to understand. Wireless Wired But make sure that your pc has a network card as the adsl modem won't work as one, even though the connector is the same. -
That was kind of the whole point So that's what the bulding is called. When I was in london I passed by it and thought "what mind altering drug was the architecht who designed that using..."

Right... had to do an image search on google to find out what gherkins are(surprisingly there was a near naked woman as sixth or so photo...). I have a love/hate ralationship to those. I started eating them when I was 8-10 stopped at 15 because I just couldn't eat them anymore. Now I do eat them they go well with burgers and bread.

If you're comfortable opening up the nes, you could try to manually short the power switch to see if the switch itself is broken.
-
I don't love the stuff but I don't throw it away from my burger or grilled food either. Yesterday I had some frenchfries, leaf stake, some sausages, cabbage, onion, tomato, cucumber, ketchup, mayonaise and pickles, all together. It was great, and luckily I don't have to worry about gaining weight

Your other computer probably has an internal adsl modem, to which the telephone line connects. The connection is simple. Plug the router in the telephone line, and connect the other devices wirelessly(USB dongle, PCI card, New laptops have wlan built in) to the router. You'll need to connect one of the pc's to router via an ethernet cable at first, as you configure the wireless parameters. You can also use cables to connect your pc to the router. Just make sure it has a network card. The connectors in the router should be somehow marked as which ones are the switch and which one is the one that you'll use to connect the rj45 from the phone line. It might be called WAN, connect the pc that you'll use to configure the router to one of it's LAN slots. Then look into the manual of the router as how to configure it. -
Performance - ATI Stability - nVidia And nVidia probably has the voodoo fanbase also, as 3dfx were bought by them.

Ugrade the firmware if it isn't the latest version. If it is search the net if other people have the problem and see what they have sone about it. Reverting to a previous firmware might also work.
-
Could you tell me the output voltage of the power cable(you can find it in the black chunk in the middle of the cord), as I'm not sure if they're the same with snes and nes. And I only hav a nes. And if it isn't compatible, see if you can find an adjustable power adapter. They usually have more than one head, and you can adjust the voltage also.

If you get into it you'll probably post something next week

Great! More work for the korean sweatshops...

Start on this I did because I find reading tutorials boring... And more tutorials Blender has a great interface as soon as you get familiar with it.

How doesn't the nes work? I might know how to fix it if you give me some info. And the nes is so old that you don't have worry about how much you spent on it, just have fun with it now that you have it

For the files likes vids and music and such it'll work. Games however will only work correctly after you reinstall them. Just take the save files of the games you play and put them in place after you have installed the game in the new system.
