Thanks guys. I did get Mario Kart, and it's awesome. Most fun i've had on a game for years.

Stop being so one-sided. Yes, you make some valid points, but those points are about alcohol - not what this thread is discussing. The positives of very limited marijuana use far outweight the negatives. Personally I only use the drug once or twice a month, I don't use it as a social lubricant and I prefer not to use it in social settings that alcohol consumers benefit from. Whenever I use it I have the most wonderful, philosophical and spiritual thoughts that I just can't have to that great a level sober. The level of well-being and self worth also produces a very comforting feeling, as well as the short bursts of euphoria. However, the main reason for me taking it is to experience music on. Sitting in a dark room and listening to a decent album is one of the most rewarding experiences ever. Just shutting your eyes and being transported to a different place, closed eyes visual, an increased imagination... I could go on and on. As for the evils... I personally don't like getting the munchies, and for some reason I must be one of the few in the world that thinks food tastes worse when high. Also, the slight paranoia is a nuisance, but is very limited, unless I use the drug in a very social situation. However, the main problem this drug gets, is the amount of people that are dependant on it daily. I would never deny to anyone, that the majority of people who use it regularly change into different, more negative people.

Carl Sagan's views are very similar to mine so I will list a few nice quotes: 'The illegality of cannabis is outrageous, an impediment to full utilization of a drug which helps produce the serenity and insight, sensitivity and fellowship so desperately needed in this increasingly mad and dangerous world.' 'There is a myth about such highs: the user has an illusion of great insight, but it does not survive scrutiny in the morning. I am convinced that this is an error, and that the devastating insights achieved when high are real insights; the main problem is putting these insights in a form acceptable to the quite different self that we are when we're down the next day.' Obviously the work by Lester Grinspoon is very interesting too. I recommend reading his essay: To Smoke or not to Smoke: A Cannabis Odyssey http://marijuana-uses.com/essays/001.html

Keep 3 tabs up... http://www.readingfestival.com http://seetickets.com http://ticketmaster.co.uk Also: http://forum.readingfestivalonline.co.uk/showthread.php?t=45672 in that thread people are going to post backdoor links, incase the main pages of the ticket web sites crash like usual.

Yeah, you can get a day ticket, but I wouldn't advise it. You need to witness the whole 3-5 days and after hours fun for it to be a truly memorable weekend!

Confirmation of what? Lol... GA are about a 10% chance IMO. Too big to play in the Dance Tent, don't fit into the Radio/NME style tent because of the nature of their music. Could potentially play main stage, but doesn't gel well with the other lineup, plus very very strong headliners/sub-headliners this year anyway. And, Justice and Pendulum are playing also, so there isn't a big need for another 'electronica' band.
-
Lol, it's just that there has been 0 rumours for them. But, they aren't playing creamfields (same weekend as Reading) so you never know... I really doubt they're going to play though. £180? It's £155... plus whatever the booking fee is going to be and delivery. Anyone thinking about getting tickets, i'd recommend getting an early entry ticket for £10 which allows you to access the campsite a day earlier (more partying/can get a good spot). This is going to be my 3rd year, and I already have 4 tickets thanks to the pre-sale back in August <3 Good luck getting tickets everyone. Looks like the lineups going to look something like this: Friday 22nd August Rage Against The Machine - to be confirmed Queens of the Stone Age - strong rumour The Fratellis - strong rumour The Enemy - rumour Biffy Clyro - rumour Serj Tankian - strong rumour Taking Back Sunday - rumour Get Cape. Wear cape. Fly - rumour Anti-flag - rumour Saturday 23 August The Killers - to be confirmed Bloc Party - strong rumour The Raconteurs - strong rumour Editors - to be confirmed We Are Scientists - strong rumour Dirty Pretty Things - rumour The Subways - strong rumour Sunday 24 August Metallica - To be confirmed Slipknot - strong rumour Other bands: Dizzee Rascal - strong rumour Feeder - rumour Tenacious D - rumour Friday 22 August - 2nd Stage Babyshambles - strong rumour The Wombats - strong rumour Vampire Weekend - strong rumour MGMT - strong rumour Saturday 23 August - 2nd Stage Manic Street Preachers - rumour Bullet For My Valentine - rumour Justice - rumour Foals - strong rumour Sunday 24th August - 2nd stage The Cribs TBC Pendulum TBC

Serious? Which member of the band is he Dom?

The three headliners for Latitude are Franz Ferdinand, Interpol and Sigur Ros, not bad for a minor festival (although one that does cost £130). Saul Williams and BSP look to be pretty strong rumours too. Looks like the old pedigree of the comedy tent has been moved from Reading/Leeds to Latitude as well.
