21st century cowboy
I don't know if this is in the right place but i was wondering if anyone knows if these new LOTR dvds are extended even more on top of the ones released before? Amazon says the running times are slightly longer but no review has mentioned it yet.
The3rdChildren
I'm waiting for a HD-DVD release before I even consider rebuying Lord of the Rings.
Noodleman
All they add are a documentary shot by some guy as they where filming the three films. Although im told the making of documentarys you got in the old EE's are far better and show a lot more.

I'm only really wanting to know about the running time for the films as I don't really watch extras (apart from thursday nights)
gaggle64
To be honest I would have the thought the original cinematic versions were long enough for most people. You must have an ass of steel.
The3rdChildren
The extended DVDs had a much nicer print quality, and of course a load of neat extra scenes that were intergrated seamlessly into the theatrical cut.

Didn't udersatand alot of the second half of it. I may have been tired but the sentances just seemed too complex. ReturnOTK without the extra scenes just didn't make sense to me. Tellyn
Yeah, the only new things to the DVDs are boxart. Believe me, I have been waiting a LONG time for these Extended Extended Editions that were mentioned by Peter Jackson and a guy from EA.

Fierce_LiNk
To be honest, it shouldn't matter that much. The majority of us will only be buying them for collection purposes anyway. I've bought the Fellowship and Two Towers extended and i've watched them a grand total of once. It's not exactly something you can watch over again and again. So, don't let it grate on your nerves.
