rajmist Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 What is wii play and does it come in the bundle pack in the UK
Nintendork Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 for £29 you get a Wii free hand controller minus nunchucku and the software. It's mini games basically.. I'm getting it for the controller.. but having laser hockey and table tennis is a bit of a laugh i'm sure. I doubt the 2 mysterious games are any good.

Played this at the european event -laser hockey -table tennis -shooting gallery (duck hunt) - Pool Game from what I remember. WHERE did you see it on pre-order for £29??!!!

We don't seem to know about the prices for any games yet...
blender Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 its available at play for £40. i thinks its got snooker type game which looks good
Nintendork Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 £29 gets you a free hand controller and Wii Play bundle? then £17 for the nunchucku add-on, and £17 for the classic controller. These are Nintendo Europe's estimated retail prices.. they will obviously over-estimate to avoid dissapointment.. Don't trust what retailers say. Snooker and Duck Hunt are okay.. but Duck Hunt really is old, the concept wears thin real quick. There is indeed a Snooker game and that could be fun if the mechanics are accurate enough.
ShadowV7 Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Free hand controller isn't the same price as the nun-chuck.Didn't NoE say games would be 39.99?
Nintendork Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Wii Play isn't a standalone game, it comes free with a (£29) free hand controller. £179 - Wii + Wii Sports. £29 - Extra FHC + Wii Play £17 - FHC accesories, nunchucku, classic controller, etc. £34-39 - First-party games. £17 - 2000 Virtual Console points All prices are estimated, if Play.com or anyone other than Nintendo say anything they are guessing at this moment in time.
ShadowV7 Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Can you type the right products when you first type out what your saying? I doubt Wii Play and the Wii-mote will be £29.99,Wii Play would just be free and they wouldn't gain a profit so it will likely be £39.99. Where's your source saying it's £29.99? Additional controllers will also be available from launch at the estimated retail prices of: Wii Remote - 39 Euros (£29 in UK), Nunchuk – 19 Euros (£14 in UK) and the Classic Controller – 19 Euros (£14 in UK)
blender Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 @Nintendork agree Play could be guessing. But you claim your souce is NOE? How/where did you get this information? You can pre-order from play. This esseentially fixes the price for these items. They cant put the price up. (Though it might go down.) Therefore, classic controller = £12.99 Delivered wiimote £24.99 Delivered nunchink =£12.99 Delivered very different to your NOE estimates which sound very dubious to me unless you can show me a statement from them.
Phube Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 I'm agreeing with Nintendork! Wii-play is not a purchase-able game, it will only come FREE with an Extra Wii-mote - It was stated in the Wii conference!! Unless me and Nintendork are dreaming!!
Nintendork Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 My source/typing was wrong on the nunchuck/classic controller. It is indeed £14 not £17, no big deal. Honestly I don't give a shit what Play say.. if Nintendo are working on estimates who are Play to say how much things are? You kids are all too worried about getting stuff pre-ordered and giving away your money. Update Europe will receive the same bundle but with Wii Play and controller. There have been concerns ciruclating regarding the price of the Wii controller (particularly when bundled with the numchuck addition) leading to a higher-price package for multiplayer gaming. Well it seems Nintendo is more than aware of this fact and is determined to present some viable alternatives! According to IGN Wii, Nintendo plan to release a bundle in Japan that consists of the Wii Remote controller and the Wii launch title Hajimete no Wii (My First Wii), a collaboration of mini-games similar to Wario Ware. The two items will be priced at 4800 yen, a lower price than the average price for a standalone Wii game (5800 yen) In the same news peice, IGN revealed that Nintendo are expected to bundle expansion packs with certain new games if their requirements are too much for the Wii. Stick with C3 for more updates... Europe isn't getting such a bad deal.. we're paying more than Japan and North America.. but we're getting Wii Sports free with the console (Japan has to pay seperately) and we get Wii Play free with a controller (North America has to pay seperately) Things can change though.. I wouldn't be suprised if North America gets Wii Play bundled too.
blender Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 as I said pre-order prices are fixed. so yes give a shit, those are the prices you will pay and so look at pre-oreders. (They cannot raise them. They can cancel your order but that so unlikely to happen) and they are way below nintendo's estimates in their press release and your guesses out of thin air. I really don't think every wii mote is bundled with wii play - that does not make sense? I would belive that you get a free wii mote with wii play though... but there is no official word on this. Your last sentence is a little condencending....you made mistakes here which is no big deal really but dont follow it up with the attitude. My point was that half your original post was wrong about prices and it was not inconcievable for the rest concerningh bundles to be wrong too
Nintendork Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 And what happens if another retailer undercuts that pre-order price you paid? You lose. There is a saying, don't put your eggs in one basket. If i'm not mistaken we're talking about Wii Play and how it is bundled with the free hand controller. Not the price of the Nunchucku.. so the mistake is an irrelevance really. The FHC has a lot of technology in it, it's not a cheap bit of kit and Nintendo is addressing that by sweetening the deal by chucking in some tech demos in the bundle Wii Play. It is not a free controller with the game.. who in their right mind will pay £29 for some mini games which could be played on one of the millions of flash sites out there online. 2 of the games are based on pong, one is a simple 2D shooter.. Find Mii is hardly revolutionary.. snooker? well i've never seen that done in flash before.. Here's some flash table tennis for you: http://www.2flashgames.com/f/f-134.htm Wii Play is free, because it's not worth £29.. offers a cheap giggle for you to try out when you get an extra controller whilst making it seem a little less expensive. *condescending
Kazzahdrane Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Morons. It's a free FHC with Wii Play, to make it a little sweeter since it is just more minigames. It will no doubt cost a little more than a standalone FHC and so will appeal to people "a controller AND a game for not much more than a controller!". Giving away Wii Play with EVERY FHC would be such a stupid thing to do, it just isn't happening.
Charlie Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Where does it say that WiiPlay is £29.99?
Phube Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 12:42:23 - Advantage to Greg/Tim. Big rally. And the pros have it. "Do you want to see another game?" asks Gabby. YES. 30-0. "We're dominating" says Tim. Before missing a service return. And a few laughs and balls in the crowd later, the pros lose. Laurent Fischer's back. Wii launch Europe details coming now, he says. Launch titles: Wii Sports, Wii Play (the mini-games package with bundled Wii remote). Zelda... http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=67637 This is a quote from the LIVE Euro gamer updates from the European Wii Conference!! Live with it!!!!
Cube Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 So, people getting 3 extra wiimotes will probably get 3 copies of Wii Play, too. It;s probably just a temporary thing so less people moan about the price of the FHC. Nintendo will make more than enough profit from people who buy Wii + Extra Wiimote to cover the cost of Wii Sports multiple times. It's a free FHC with Wii Play Actually, its the opposite
Kurtle Squad Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Where does it say that WiiPlay is £29.99? It doesn't
Nintendork Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 The FHC clearly costs more than a couple of shit flash game inspired mini games, personally I wouldn't pay £5 for Wii Play.. the controller is expensive because it has the extra technology in it. Wii Play is bundled with the FHC @ £29. Reason why Wii Play hasn't been given a price is because it's a promotion.
Darv Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Wii Play is bundled with the FHC @ £29. They quite clearly said in the conference: Wii Play (the mini-games package with bundled Wii remote) Not Wii remotes with bundled Wii Play. I'm not saying that the game comes with a free remote, but it's a bundle together. They aren't goign to give away games with every remote, it doesn't make any sense. Not because the game is worth much money, but because why would they want to make so many copies of it. Besides, why would they want you to have the same game 3 times?
Kazzahdrane Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Darv, thank god someone else here has an ounce of sense. If someone bought three additional controllers it would make no sense to give them 3 copies of the same game. Wii Play comes with a bundled FHC to ease the cost of your first additional controller and encourage people to take the step into multiplayer gaming.
blender Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 the wii mote will be bundled with batteries.
