Zombie_Fan Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 I was just thinking about how cool it would be to have a LCD screen for the Revolution. Seeing how the Revolution will be kind of small. I made out a design for one. I tried to illustrate my idea as best as I could. The measurments might not be right. Do you think this is a good idea? Do you think it looks stupid?
Shyguy Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 very nice idea, but it would be hard to demonstrate the revo's features on a small screen
ShadowV7 Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 Nice but as Shyguy said ,would be hard to demenstrate on a small screen.
Nintendork Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 Wouldn't be practical with regard to the controller. There are several serial ports on the bottom of the Revolution though. I think just the size and simplicity of the setup lends itself to chucking it in your bag and going round a mates for a party.. plugging it in and rocking out. I wouldn't use it but I imagine there'd be a lot of Japanese people who'd buy this.
DCK Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 Great for virtual console games, but for the FHC the screen is way too tiny.
pedrocasilva Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 Great for virtual console games, but for the FHC the screen is way too tiny.they could just make the range wider, I don't think it would make a big diference in how you play, it doesn't depend on the size of the screen. of course you have to know what you're doing on a shooter, but I think they can pull it off without being restrictive.
Nintendork Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 TBH, mini projectors are the future anyway. I see myself carrying around a Revolution, FHCs and a little projector in my back pack if they come down in price enough.
Fierce_LiNk Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 I think the potential is there for it to work. I'm just worried about playing the Revolution with a screen in, say, a car. Would the movements be too restricted? Would it be any less enjoyable? Would the quality be lost? If the answer to all these is No, then i can see it working.

People could still use it as a portable DVD player. Then again it might be cheaper and easier for people to buy a commercial portable DVD player. There is also the question of its battery life. I don't know how much power the Revolution uses, and add it up to how much power the LCD screen uses. Low battery life is a big turn off for most people. It would be cool to play SNES or N64 games on a long car ride. I need to wait and see the final design of the Revolution. I would like to see some kind of LCD screen for the Revolution. With the small size, and sleek design of the Revolution. I think it would be a pretty hansom looking portable DVD player.
Jamba Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 Haha! I can see it now: Your playing Red Steel in the car and you're holding your katana to a gang leaders throat to gain his respect and NOT kill him. You suddenly hit a pot-hole in the road. Slip. Whoops! Messy...
Guest Stefkov Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 i know the revolution is all about the controller, but cant this still work with the shell? we'll still be able to play games that use the shell on the road. then wherever you're going you just set it up and stick in a game that uses the FHC. but if youve got a spacious car, say a zafira, then if there's only you in the back seat you can stick the rev with the screen on a seat and just use little movements. i thought they said that even litte movements will still work. oh i just remembered, what about this 'wand' where will that go to detect the movements of the FHC?even more room probably taken up unless it can just slot ontop of the LCD tv, or even its built into it, like across the top like those latops have a camera in it. then it would work.
