Sanchez Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Don't think the Halo 3 beta is guaranteed with Crackdown, I read you have to be in the top 1000 odd crackdown players in your region within 3 days of its launch or something to get the Halo 3 beta invite. Damn, if this was with Lost Planet i'd be all over this. Damn i'm good at that game. However, can we get a source on this? It seems reaosnable, or we could have a million people in the beta otr something, largely defying the point.
Bren Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 so basically you gotta be in the top 1000 online gamers in england. That should be easy :P
Caris Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 It will be hard for you cuase your not very good at games.
gmac Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 All gamers need to do is participate in three different Halo 2 multiplayer sessions on Xbox Live over the course of the three-day window and, once the three-day window is over, be among the first 13,333 gamers to register at http://www.halo3.com. That’s it. Gamers who buy Crackdown and have an Xbox Live Gold account, of course, are automatically assured access to the Halo 3 multiplayer beta. from the Crackdown website so either do the halo 2 thing or buy Crackdown by the looks of things
rokhed00 Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 from the Crackdown website so either do the halo 2 thing or buy Crackdown by the looks of things I must've got the two things mixed up., and lost a digit on the cut off point.
gmac Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 again though it's still not clear if us european gamers are going to get access to this
Ramar Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Crackdown on GAME's website Claims the Beta comes with all Crackdown discs. "Requires Xbox Live Gold Subscription and Hard Drive. Beta comes on all Crackdown discs." Under the banner.

DiemetriX Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 FFXII is amazing.. But a game AND halo3 beta... Tough choice.

rokhed00 Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Is it all copies of Crackdown that have the H3 beta, or just where they are stating it, as where I ordered from has no mention of it.

Shorty Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 I'm pondering an xbox 360, but I can't play online games at my uni accommodation for the next 6 months. What are the absolute must haves, and is it worth having without Live? I just think its time I got a reliable console that will always have a multitude of good titles.... If not this, I might get a PS3 when it drops in price since I never owned a Playstation and there's a big back-catalogue of games I want....
Hero-of-Time Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Personally I think that getting a 360 without Live is pointless, I have said this before to many people at work. I dont think that the 360 is a very good gaming machine on its own but with Live it hits a whole new level. I go up and down in regards to my 360 as im more of a single player kind of guy or multiplayer when in the company of mates in the same room. So to summarize, get one if you can get Live but if not then I wouldnt recommend it. If you havent got a PS2 I can highly recommend getting one with the amount of titles that you can get on it all at great prices. Im sure Dom and others will back me up about this.
Shorty Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 It's just that the network at my uni accommodation is terrible for online gaming. I guess I will wait til next year then will have dropped in price by then too.
rokhed00 Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Anybody know what todays dashboard update was for? I dont think that the 360 is a very good gaming machine on its own but with Live it hits a whole new level. I wouldn't go that far, the 360 still has some cracking single player games, but Live really does make it.
KKOB Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 I WANT SOME GEARS i've missed my 360 WAAAAAAAHHH only gotta wait till sunday then i can fulfill my desire for gore and chainsaws mwahahhaaaa I wouldn't go that far, the 360 still has some cracking single player games, but Live really does make it. Agreed- the 360 is just a poor PS2 with better graphics without XBL- people have to be senile to not pay the £40 a year imo as its the only thing that makes the 360 unique. anywho Shorty-get a PS2, more awesome offline games and a hell of a lot cheaper, wait a year or two till you know which console (360 or PS3) has the games you really want to play on then buy them when they're cheaper- win win!!
Guest Stefkov Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 I also say to my friends, it's pointless getting a 360 if you're not even gonna consider getting Live. One person even went and said, £40 is a bit much....I nearly slapped him. I know 1 person, which I only found out yesterday, out of about 5 people who has Live. Games like Gears of War are really great single player. However if it didnt have these online and splitscree/lan modes of co-op personally Idont htink it woud have sold very well.
DiemetriX Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Anybody know what todays dashboard update was for? The dashboard now has moving ads. Not sure what more. btw. Loving the graphics style of Def Jam Icon altough the game dosn't look as good as gameplay vise.
Ramar Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 So today I thought I'd have a butchers about in the shops. Come across Halo and Halo 2, now years back I played Halo and disliked it. At the time I was probably bumming Nintendo too much, didn't care for online and didn't really care for shooters. (Thank you counter strike source for changing that). So I noticed the were 3 for 2, not knowing what titles were compatible with the 360 and not really wanting anything. I picked up Project Gotham Racing, another game I disliked when I played it on the Xbox. Just found out its not compatible, so I'm thinking of leaving the seal and trying to get a refund on a free game.. Or just ebaying it. What inspired this purchase was the greatness of Xbox Live and Halo 3 trailer I downloaded. I thought it must be good, or so many people wouldn't play Halo 2 on live. So I'm going to give it a try, and for £20.98 for the three games can't really argue.

Seen as though we're both noobs at the game it'd be fun to play sometime. Btw what is the mutliplayer disc in that package?

Guest Stefkov Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 isn't it the maps you could download of XBL but for people who didn't have the internet. so I paid that extra bit of money for something I'm never gonna use. Thats annoying.
