Charlie Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 If you sign up for Office Live Beta, which is free at the moment. I'm not sure what will happen when the beta finishes though, I presume you can keep your domain name. http://officelive.msn.com I got charliedouglas.net
AshMat Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 The one on the far left? EDIT: I refuse to give my credit card details
Ramar Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 The one on the far left?EDIT: I refuse to give my credit card details Yeah I was gonna get one, then I didn't really want to put my details on there. If it was truly free they wouldn't need them. I didn't want to sign up, then the cheeky gits charge me for it.
Charlie Posted April 11, 2006 Author Posted April 11, 2006 Yeah I was gonna get one, then I didn't really want to put my details on there. If it was truly free they wouldn't need them. I didn't want to sign up, then the cheeky gits charge me for it. Well it would be illegal for them to charge you after saying its free before AND after the Beta ends.
Ramar Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Well it would be illegal for them to charge you after saying its free before AND after the Beta ends. I know.. But its like MMORPG's. With free trials when you have to put credit card details in. Its just off putting.
AshMat Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 yeah im with that.. im bad enough about putting my address into anything, like they need it, i usually make it up.
Calza Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 Sorry for the bump, but i was wondering about this. Moria have you had any trouble with this? And how much space do you actually get it just says "more than enough" which dosn't really help.
Charlie Posted April 18, 2006 Author Posted April 18, 2006 I've got 30mb webspace and 10Gb bandwidth I think. 30mb is more than enough for a simple website. I haven't had any troubles, it says its free before AND after the beta...
mario114 Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 I would sign up, but I'm not putting any details in, sure they shouldn't charge me, but if they did, what chance would I have getting my money back-none.
triforce_keeper Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 why not just have a freeweb or a piczo? http://www.freewebs.com or http://www.piczo.com
Charlie Posted April 19, 2006 Author Posted April 19, 2006 They don't give you a domain name. MS asked me to fill in a survey today, which I'm doing now...
Cube Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 I would get one, but i done even have a bank account, let alone a credit card.
Nintendork Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 http://www.uni.cc http://www.co.nr or just find a mate who has one and get a free subdomain. I got spence.offal.co.uk very happy. Microsoft products suck, I hope this Live thing works out.
AshMat Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 Aghh dreaded piczo, i immediately dislike sites on piczo. Typical on piczo: No layout Unbeleiveable amounts of flashing .gifs "Who's the fittest/pengest" Shit background music
